We actually went into town for a coffee in another cafe which doesn’t seem to open Mondays. So we gave this cafe a whirl. Very glad we did. My husband and friend were tempted by a bacon sandwich. Very enjoyable. Staff lovely and friendly. We will be back.

Have visited a few times for breakfast & can honestly say it is a fabulous full English & great value for money. The only downside & the reason I won’t be going back is the ventilation is so bad that I had to come home, shower & wash my hair. We did try sitting as far away as we could from the kitchen area but there is no escaping the smell & it clings to everything. I would rather pay a little more if they used the money to instal an extraction system

This is a long established cafe with loyal customers but as a reasonably new customer although the service is good there is a major problem as you come our smelling of smokey cooking smells due to a distinct lack of extract from the kitchen area If this could be improved it could be a very nice traditional cafe but until this has been rectified I will not return and can’t recommend it

We use this cafe alot and always had good service and great food. But today we ordered 2 meals that had sausages on, we waited 20 minuets before we were told that they had run out of sausages and it wouldn't be long until they are cooked. A girl walked in from the butchers with a few sausages, but we didn't want to wait even longer for them. So paid for our drinks and left. The staff were ones that we have never seen before and didn't seem to care.

We popped in to the Beehive for a breakfast snack and the cafe although having its main entrance in the street has a garden area at the rear. The garden area has 50s and 60s memorabilia as well as a small vinyl record store. We had some delicious toasted bacon sandwiches, with cups of tea and were treated to classic 50s and 60s background music. This is a traditional British cafe in historic Rochford with a Tudor house just across the street. Nice to visit when shopping in the Rochford/ Southend area. Southend airport bring only 5 minutes drive away.

I took my mum out for some lunch here recently and it's a fab little place. I took a photo of the menu so everybody can see just how great the prices are and the portions are huge for you what pay! There's lots of room to eat inside but my mum and I sat outside which just has such a lovely vibe. When the sun is shining out there you forget you're in the UK for a minute! I love how quirky the place is, there's lots of signs hanging on the walls and things like old road signs... it's a great atmosphere! Well worth the visit, I'll be a regular moving towards. Friendly staff, cheap prices and great value for money.

The Beehive Tearooms is accessible from South Street and via the Back Lane car park. The service is friendly, but the interior looks tired and the ventilation could be improved, judging by the steamed up windows. The drinks and food are okay. Toilets are outside in the rear garden.

Went as an impromptu Sunday lunch date with my partner. Upon arrival we sat down and waited to be served, it took a while but we were eventually served (may have been as a result of where we were sitting) we received our drinks quickly and ordered our food. Once the food arrived it was as you would expect from a small town tea room. Overall it was neither an overwhelming nor underwhelming experience. Service wise it felt like that they had forgotten about us. We left without desert as our plates were taken and we weren't asked if we would like to order any.

The main bone of contention is that a bunch of lads were served well before us even though we had waited ages. The waitress said they were in front of us as they were sat outside prior to our entry, this was not the case as we arrived through the entrance she was referring to.In other words we were being waffled. Also as mentioned by another reviewer the establishment could do with decorating, cobwebs seem the norm.Is it an antique shop, breakers yard or a cafe, the mind boggles.

This really is a smashing find in the heart of the historic town of Rochford. Located behind the market place and main shops, this little restaurant could easily be missed. Easily accessed from the rear (near the main car park), the selection of food is great and the prices are very reasonable for this area. There's a lovely garden for the summer months and lots of antiques and vinyl for sale at bargain prices. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is that of a local place, where everyone is familiar and happy to chat. Be warned that they close early at weekends and can get very busy at times. Overall, the Beehive is well worth a visit.

The food here is okay and the staff are friendly, but the eating area doubles as a kind of 'old curiosity shop' that sells bric a brac and the items appear to have been sitting around for years. Dusty and full of cobwebs. Personally I prefer to eat in clean and hygenic environments. The place definitely needs a good clean and maybe even a fresh new lick of paint.

Visited on a weekday lunchtime and ordered the daily special, which was shepherds pie. The pie was served with cabbage, carrots, peas and cauliflower and provided a filling lunch. We visited my mum-in-law last Saturday, and when asked where she would like to have lunch, she immediately said The Beehive. It is about five minutes walk from her flat, so off we went. The decor is a little tired, but in keeping with the building. The service was excellent, friendly waitresses and surprisingly quick food. It was all home cooked and very nice too! We all had main course pudding and tea, and the bill was under £30!! The main course menu was small, but plenty of snacks on offer. Would certainly go again.

This is my son's favourite café. We even went there to celebrate his birthday and the lovely staff brought out a chocolate muffin with a candle for him which was very sweet. We tend to come here often. The food is very clean and not oily, service is great, staff are friendly and the price is very reasonable. The atmosphere is lovely. It is quaint and reminds you off an old fashioned pub even though it never was one. There is a little outside area to eat which is quite pretty. We are lucky to have this little gem so close to home. The Beehive Tearooms is situated in the centre of Rochford, and is just 100m outside the market square. It's by far the homeliest place for food and refreshments in the centre of Rochford, and the owners have gone to a lot of trouble make visitors feel welcome in their surroundings. There are shelves decorated with personal effects such as ornaments, and chinaware, and all around are 1950s-1960s pop memorabilia. The Elvis Presley hip-swinging clock is a nice touch, and the café even has its own used vinyl store (well-stocked with 1950s-1980s LPs) at the back of the premises in the garden. The garden itself is very peaceful, being on the opposite side of the building from North Street, and the vintage enamel advertisements add a nice retro touch to the scenery. Years ago, there was a collection of air rifles on display in the front window and lounge, but times have changed since then..!

Really sad this place has gone downhill! from tonights experience I will never return I have enjoyed this place over the years but tonight absolutely appalled from the quality of the food and the size of the portions were disappointing considering it was meant ti be the larger option. generally shocked at the state of the food the chicken was equivalent of tinned boiled chicken no flavour at all and when asked how our meals are and we responded that they was actually not very nice and small we was just quickly told sorry about that then the waiter just scurried off without saying anything more

Low ceilings and beams. Not the most ebullient of welcomes and lots of mumbling. The menu is impressive, lots of choice. I ordered the Chicken, Ham and Leek pie and the wife ordered the Steak and Ale pie. The shortcrust pastry on both pies was dry. There was something odd tasting about the mash. Couldn't put my finger on it. It was lunch, it was ok for a pit stop but I wouldn't rush back.

I have read other reviews and some people have said it's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.
