Wow! What an amazing place. Everything was lovely from the environment to the staff and food. I also learned that everyone volunteers and all monies made are donated to charities and local community groups! How fantastic!

Our favourite place to visit when we are seeing family. The staff are all so friendly. It’s so light and airy in the cafe and the food is great. The Eccles cakes are the best I’ve ever had.

This is a very friendly establishment run by volunteers to raise money for good causes. I have always been made to feel very welcome, and when I visited alone the staff kindly introduced me to other patrons, and I enjoyed a pleasant conversation over lunch. The food is very good and certainly value for money. In my opinion prospective patrons should completely disregard the adverse review from Tranmere1 as this particular reviewer appears to be a serial complainer and there seems to be many establishments in the Wirral where you require a second mortgage to attend. Usually I am a firm believer in everyone is entitled to their opinion, after all it is a free country, however on this occasion I think it worthy of highlighting that the comments made against this establishment are grossly unfair and in fact rude and petty, especially as all the staff are volunteers and go out of their way to provide a warm and welcoming environment to the local community while raising money for good causes.

Nice decor etc but prices are excessive particularly the price of coffee type drinks. One cup is almost twice the price of a jar of Gold Blend at nearby Tescos !

Exceptional value for money, run by volunteers , this charity run establishment is warm and welcoming and mouthwatering treats are delightfully served in a brightly lit sunny space elevated to give a great vantage point for watching the world go by - highly recommended if you like good coffee, good service and fabulous cake/quiche!

My husband and I visited Heswall to find a post office and café for a light lunch. As we drove in I noticed the beacon with its lime green chairs and fresh looking sign. We called in and we're warmly greeted by one of the volunteers. We sat in the front window overlooking the main road so we could watch the he world go by. It was busy bit we were quickly served with what turned out to be some excellent suggestions. I had a lovely quiche with salad and thyme roasted new potatoes and coffee and he had a bacon butty with salad garnish and tea. It came to less than £12 and was delicious. Most excellent and tasted even better because it was helping others. Brill x

This was our first visit to Oxa. My sister lives locally and had been wanting to try it for some time. The atmosphere was perfect, background music was lovely and the staff were helpful and approachable. The chefs - Jake and Connor - delivered excellence at every course and Alex provided great service with a smile. I am coeliac but every care was taken to see that my meal was as good as everyone else's. Believe me, this is not usual when catering for a dietary requirement. The gluten free bread was divine, and Jake even gave me the recipe which I will certainly try. We will certainly be back, and would recommend it to those foodies who love to be surprised by every course. Top marks Oxa. It's a gem.

Came here with my husband for lunch last Sunday afternoon. We both ordered the ham, egg, and homemade chips, which were lovely and very filling. (The chips are to die for.) We both had a latte, which was hot and delicious! We've never been here before, as it's in an area where there are several cafes and bars that we've always walked past but never been inside. It looks like it's popular with the regular customers, too, as it was fairly busy when we arrived. Will definitely be coming again when we visit New Brighton.
