I had gone for a long walk before stopping here for a bite to eat. It was quite busy at the time, but I was able to get a table and I was served quickly. I went for the Welsh rarebit and an Oreo milkshake with cream, and it was bloody lovely. Would come here again at some point.

Having spent a few days in New Brighton in our camper van we decided to treatourselves to breakfast and found the Driftwood cafe only a short distance from the sea front. We were happy to see that the cafe was dog friendly.Having ordered 2 small cooked breakfasts and 2 caramel coffees,what can I say the food was absolutely lovely and coffee's were perfect 👌. They also do food for your dog,my dog enjoyed his sausage in his own little bowl. I would certainly recommend a visit to the Driftwood cafe 💯.Staff very polite and very friendly.Look forward to our next trip to New Brighton and visit to the Driftwood Cafe.Thank you to all the lovely staff. Wide selection of lovely food, good value, friendly helpful staff. Vegetarian, vegan and gf options. Well worth a visit. What's not to like!

Saw the sandwich board on the front advertising this little gem or we would never have found it. Great to find a dog friendly cafe that also does such delicious homemade food. Service, staff and atmosphere- can't fault. I had the fishfinger sandwich and my husband had welsh rarebit, followed by bakewell tart and a scone, all delicious. Can't wait to visit again.

Amazing food and staff are even better. We are always welcomed with a smile and leave satisfied every-time. 10/10 ………..

Great selection, friendly staff, and Good food.

Brilliant little cafe, food was fantastic, coffee was fantastic. The staff were so friendly. We chose to sit outside so our server brought us cushions and blankets. We also ordered some breakfast for our dog and it arrived in his own little dog bowl. Looking forward to making this our regular ♥️

A really lovely cafe. The food was great and the staff were amazing. We’ve been to this café a couple of times and last year we went there when our little dog was quite poorly. The lady that served us showed us such kindness. She took time to chat to us and tried to help us by bringing some sausage for our dog. It was really touching and comforting in such a tough time. We lost our little dog later that day, but the ladys kindness really did stick with us. There aren’t many places like this left. Thank you x

We went to the Driftwood cafe, we just had cappuccino and a delicious piece of bakewell cake, Jenny and the safe were very welcoming. We Would definitely, go again, and the food looked delicious.

Excellent fish and real chips with a nice cuppa tea. A great lunch and a really friendly experience. Driftwood is such a pretty café with a lovely Victorian pale blue window and so cosy and characterful inside.ideal for a coffee and yummy home-made cake if you’re going to the beach, the cinema or just spending time in New Brighton .

Coffee hot chocolate and freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream just delicious. Sat outdoors and watched world go by. Lovely little cafe nice staff highly recommended

Came here with my husband for lunch last Sunday afternoon. We both ordered the ham, egg, and homemade chips, which were lovely and very filling. (The chips are to die for.) We both had a latte, which was hot and delicious! We've never been here before, as it's in an area where there are several cafes and bars that we've always walked past but never been inside. It looks like it's popular with the regular customers, too, as it was fairly busy when we arrived. Will definitely be coming again when we visit New Brighton.

Was recommended Driftwood in a completely unrelated phone call and promised to give it a try when I was visiting the area. I'm glad I did. Initially we were seated outside and it was a little nippy and drizzly but the ladies brought us cushions and blankets out, and then when some customers left we were invited inside. The food was top notch and the staff were lovely, would happily recommend and visit again.

Delightful cafe. Staff extremely pleasant. Food delicious. Hubby had the small portion sausage, egg and chip ....perfect portion for lunch. I had a very tasty cup of butternut squash soup and a small bowl of homemade chips, all gorgeous. Followed by a slice of homemade lemon drizzle cake. We would highly recommend a visit.

A breakfast for two, portion size and price were great. The food was fantastic - a great blend of home made food cooked perfectly, this coupled with great service. Well recommended and would certainly return.

An absolute gem of a place. Great vibe. Lovely staff. Oh and the food is excellent. We had the fish finger sandwich (massive) and the Driftwood club (lovely) and a pot of tea. It's good to see a local business doing it right. Very clean and the staff dresses immaculately. So good an even left a decent tip. We will be back. highly recommended

Have been coming here for several years, pre covid and love it. Dog friendly too! Have had lunch and snacks ,always hot and tasty. Lovely warm scones are our 'go to'. Service is amazing, always greeted with smiles and if full have offered to take our number and call when a table is available. Love the food, love the attention. So warm and friendly. Look forward to our next visit.

We had a mixture of the choices available. All were excellent. The 'Full English' was as good as any I've had. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I asked for fried bread with the Full English and it was no problem It would thoroughly recommend a visit here

Wow! I am a wheelchair user, but the lovely ladies here made it so easy! The food was delicious. It's not pretending to be a gourmet paradise......the food is great British traditional fare, but cooked and presented in the best possible way. We will definitely return. A great experience for all of us, and one which we will repeat. Great food, great service, happy and smiling ladies making us feel very welcome. Fantastic.

Visited with my Dad for a farewell breakfast before travelling back to Germany. Lovely cafe, friendly staff, good food and just feels nice to sit in and watch the world go by. It was busy, so clearly very popular.

A day out to New Brighton was finished off with a wonderful visit to this cafe. The staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to accommodate us. The cafe was clean and welcoming and the food was amazing. We had sausage, egg and chips and we all said it was the best we’ve had. The sausages were locally sourced and the chips were amazing. Very thick cut and delicious. We will definitely return on another visit to New Brighton.

Had a full English fry up and it was delicious. Great wee spot but slightly pricey

This is one of our regulars now as the Vegan options are so enjoyable. Their home made scones in particular. Staff so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend a visit.

Great little local cafe with lovely staff.

Our last day of a weekend break at New Brighton and found this lovely cafe for breakfast/ brunch. The food was lovely, we went for the large breakfast but there is a small one and then a list of items you can add like extra sausage, mushrooms etc: Big pot of tea as well but they do other drinks. Homemade cakes, the bakewell tart was going down fast and we saw Google it was very popular but we were travelling back two and a bit hours, so decided not to take any but would definitely recommend.

So good, it's best to book a table.

Brilliant Breakfast lovely location friendly staff

This small café is a little gem. Just off the promenade with friendly staff and the most delicious home baked cakes and scones there is no wonder it is so popular. Really one of the best afternoon teas I've ever had. You should book a table as it can get busy.

Great little cafe. Yes you do need to book really, only tables free were in the yard at the back, which suited us but not anything special. Food and service was great, friendly staff and all good quality. Sensible price.

I was visiting a friend who lives nearby and we had lunch here yesterday on her recommendation. I was not at all surprised to see that this cafe is rated number one in the area. Their menu was varied and the food we had was delicious and it was very reasonably priced, too. Unfortunately, I live many miles away so will not be able to return in the forseeable future. Understandably, this cafe is very popular and I recommend that anyone planning to visit the local area should book well in advance.

Absolutely brilliant, Lovely staff . Dog friendly brought my peaches and so good with her offered dog treats. Human food was amazing 👏🩷 We had fish and chips and just wow homemade fresh and tasty will definitely be returning 😋

So we saw the driftwood cafe and thought let's try this so we did and we were so pleased we did , the food was delicious, staff are so nice, this is our cafe when we visit the area again. Give it a try you won't be dissapointed.

Called in (didn't know you had to reserve a table) very accommodating, found us a table. Food was excellent, very tasty indeed. Staff friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit. But don't forget to book.

Had a very nice vegan breakfast, which was very nice, also dog friendly, which is a big plus.

Went to Driftwood Cafe with my wife for Afternoon Tea as a Mother's Day present from our sons. We had a wonderful experience with lovely freshly made sandwiches of our choice, followed by delicious home-made scones and cakes. As veterans of afternoon teas, we rank this as one of the best!! Pleasant ambience and attentive owner and staff. We will definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend this cafe.

Came with my family for mother's day. It was lovely. Really good fresh food and plenty of it.My granddaughters enjoyed their food.Will be calling again soon with my husband.Well worth a visit.

Really enjoyed our lunch today at Driftwood. Rarebit and sandwiches and chips were all excellent for the food and the staff were all very nice. We were quite late to arrive a close to their closing but everything was still relaxed and very helpful. Enjoyed our lunch there

This is honestly the best cafe I’ve ever been to. The food is excellent, everything is made fresh. The people who work at Driftwood are all absolutely lovely and they take extra care to make sure every dish is delicious. The decor and general vibe in the cafe is perfect too. If you fancy anything, from a cup of tea to a full on feast, then I definitely recommend Driftwood. I will be coming here over and over again!

We regularly have lunch here. Food always freshly cooked to order. They do the best chips that we've ever had. Always very busy I suggest you book a table or you will be disappointed.

I can’t rate this lovely cafe highly enough, food was amazing, 5 Adults and 1 teenager We all had afternoon tea, I have never been to a cafe where the staff have been so nice they couldn’t do enough for us, It’s was my sister’s 60th birthday the staff brought out a cake and everyone in the cafe sang Happy Birthday (how lovely was that) Thank you so much you really did make our day of celebrations extra special

This cafe is an absolute gem and definitely worth a visit. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. I am gluten free and they have extensive gluten free options. I chose Welsh rarebit which was fantastic and followed this with a gluten free scone. Definitely the best gluten free scone I've ever had.

First time at this fabulous cafe and it didn’t disappoint. The food is amazing and the staff were very helpful as we were going through theatre, and didn’t have much time, and the lady made the kitchen know of our situation. Disappointed we didn’t have time for a cake… we will be back.

Called in for the first time today lovely cafe with friendly staff and atmosphere. Had a fantastic meal of ham, egg's and chips and a cappuccino very nice and my dad had the posh fish finger sandwich.

My friend Rose and I went for scones and coffee at the driftwood cafe on Wednesday 24th January. The scones were delicious and Amanda the owner/cook was very helpful and friendly. We both bought scones to take home as well.

My friends and I had chosen The Driftwood cafe as a place to meet up for a belated birthday celebration after reading some brilliant reviews online about it. As soon as we stepped into cafe we were greeted by the friendly staff and were shown to our table and you felt the warm, cosy atmosphere We’d chosen the Afternoon Tea. We loved the idea that we could choose our own sandwich filling, fruit or non fruit scone and particular cake. The vintage style crockery added to the charm of the setting. When our tiered cake stand was served, we weren’t disappointed at the wonderful sight of all our choices. All food is prepared freshly made which was instantly noted. when you began to eat. There was no lacking on the filling in all our sandwiches and my tuna and red onion choice was delicious. The highlight of Afternoon Tea though were the scones! They were the best I’d ever tasted with a moist texture but then with a crunch to the outer surface. As well there was as a piece of tiffin cake, and so we all then had to ask for our chosen cakes to be bagged up to take home as we were so full after devouring our savoury and sweet treats and hot drinks. A first for me to visit New Brighton and as well as experiencing the bracing sea air, great to see the recognisable Liverpool skyline in the distance. I would definitely recommend The Driftwood cafe and wouldn’t hesitate to return back even just to sample those scones again!

We love this spot and always take family there when they come to visit. They are always lovely and accommodating - making sure our little ones are happy. They also have a fab gluten free menu. Their gluten free scones are so lovely I take some home aswell

This is where the fish tastes like the sea, the lemon drizzle cake is to die for. The mushy peas were a miniature jungle of delight! Perfect for a calming afternoon tea or a lazy fish and chips. I wish I could rate this 💯. By Ben age 12

We visited New Brighton and strolled along the seafront. We found this gem of a cafe up a side street. Lovely friendly staff and a variety of meals and specials on the menu. Unfortunately, we had had a late large hotel breakfast, so only wanted a drink and a snack. The meals coming out of the kitchen looked plentiful and delicious and clearly this cafe is well known to local clientele. Enjoyed flicking through some of the books on the Wirral and how New Brighton was in the past! Will certainly, remember this cafe again when visiting New Brighton.

Good tea good coffee and very yummy sandwiches served with salad etc. I can honestly say it was all very good. I wasnt keen on the table cloths / oil cloths tho. Felt incomfortable but that maybe the trademark of the place? all really good

My daughter and I came across this gem of a place last Saturday, we had travelled from Wales to New Brighton to see a show in the theatre. The staff are so so friendly and the food just amazing. I’ve promised that I will return again very soon.

First time going here and what a hidden little gem it was, would recommend you book a table before hand like we did, because it's only a small place, really clean and tidy,very polite staff,we both had the full English and it was beautiful,all really good ingredients,we polished them both off, would happily recommend a visit if your in the area,they do a lunch time menu as well and all home made cakes,also dog friendly

Love it here, booking is a must though. Called in on the off chance before, and been disappointed as it was fully booked. Food is 1st class.

Definitely the No. 1 Café in New Brighton, so glad we found it. Can't recommend Driftwood Café highly enough !
