Booked a table for 3 at short notice. They were very helpful and we really enjoyed our food which was very reasonably priced. Not our first visit here and definitely won’t be our last.

Called in to this place on the off chance, even though we were a little early the staff told the three of us to take a seat. it was not quite mid day, but a waitress came over and took our drinks order. the three of us went for the beef pie, and we were not disapointed, the shreded beef was so tasty and the pastry was not a ready delivered type of pastry, well if it was it was still great, plenty on the plate as well.the cheese after was a good selection and was not frozen as it is in some places. would go again when I am in that area.

Well I don't quite know where to start !! Disappointed and angry doesn't really cut it..... My mum had arranged for us to go to the Bay Horse Pub this afternoon for afternoon tea as it's my birthday tomorrow, I've never been so disgusted, we've been to a few different places for afternoon tea at roughly the same price, 15pp so you sort of know what to expect, but this was shocking it was so bad. They brought out our pot of tea and then we had to wait first of all for 20 minutes until they brought out the food. They shouldn't of bothered!!! The silver tray was rubbish,no napkins or dollies etc..underneath the food and a dust/cobweb/dead spider hanging from it. To look at the food in no way was it pleasing on the eye, there was no " ooh this looks nice, there's lots of choice" it didnt make you look forward to eating it, I was gutted when i first saw it. They brought out the tray and we thought it was for one and they were going to bring another, but no,that's meant to be for two !!! It was so sparce.. 3 fingers sandwiches each, shocking, the bread was doughy where you know its been frozen then defrosted, horrible, The salmon sandwich was cheap, totally different colour salmon around the outside of it, hard and crusty, vile, so none of the awful sandwiches were eaten. The middle tier was even worse !! There was a mini quiche, that had been warmed either in micro or some other contraption, but the fact that a mini quiche was cut in half so half each is terrible !!! A soggy, cheap sausage roll that had been heated up, greasy, horrible, again, nothing on this tray was home-made, all shop bought. The top tier where all the goodies go , well I don't quite know what to say about that. I've never seen such poor desserts on an afternoon tea tray before. A shop bought, small scone, hard, full of bicarb, with a shop bought tub of cream and little pot of jam. ( the jam was the only descent thing) and a shocking small piece of shop bought victoria sponge !!! That was it !!! I spoke to the lady owner and aired my concerns about the cost for this and disappointment at it to be told " We've never had complaints before as that's what we always serve " Really !!!! I somehow doubt that. So she then offered us a pub dessert after if we wanted it, free, ummmm..... My mums a diabetic so she had to eat something as she was feeling a bit off, so she nibbled half the sausage roll, ate 1 piece of the naff quiche, and half of the measly slice of victoria sponge, but that was it, I couldn't touch it, I didn't want too, I was so angry. Angry that my mum was expted to pay £30 for that, angry that I had to send her to the car really upset as she thought I'd be upset as it was for my birthday. So once mum had gone I went and had another word with the lady owner, I told her it wasn't acceptable and how bad the food was, along with the presentation of it. To be asked if we still wanted the free desserts !!!!!! Bloody No !!! So mum ended up still having to pay £15 pound as she nibbled them couple if bits, disgraceful. It felt like they weren't interested as they had paying customers their buying meals, spending more money, so a stupid afternoon tea really didn't matter. So we've came home, mums still upset, I'm still angry 😡😡 we certainly will never go there again , I don't recommend for afternoon tea at all, don't waste your money !!!!!! 😡😡

I came to this venue, the Bay Horse Inn and restaurant on the outskirts of Hereford, with my wife, because of a lack of other nice looking lunch venues in the local area. Staff were initially apparently helpful. We were recommended a steak and ale pie which both of us opted for, upon trying eating this it was incredibly salty, to a level that instinctively made us feel we were likely to be eating a very harmful amount of salt so we decided to leave the pies each less than half eaten. We reported and complained to the staff as they took the uneaten food away and we were surprised that we didn't receive a discounted bill. We asked for the bill to be discounted but they refused to do that, and didn't even apologise. Our recommendation is best to avoid The Bay Horse Inn.

best Sunday lunch around in Hereford I had roast pork was perfect apart from misleading website where states one course is £13 pounds bay horse needs to put up accurate menu for Sunday lunch only other gripe is bay horse not including cauliflower cheese you to have to pay extra for what should be included in lunch price plus don't include Yorkshire pudding with all meals there part of Sunday lunch sort it out bay horse you've nearly cracked it as food is wonderful but having pay extra for what should be included is bit hard to swallow as was websites misleading price list for Sunday lunch as at moment your breaking the law using misleading info on website .

Only one vegetarian option on the Sunday lunch menu.roast potatoes soft and not crispy.some reason meat piled on top which made them soft.fresh cooked food which was nice otherwise and a huge Yorkshire pudding which filled the plate.reasonably priced .had better roasts and had worse .so it is what it is but not our choice.

Waited 3/4 hour for a burger, venison and beef burger overcooked. Walked to the bar in the end as no one came over for half hour once we’d finished. Told the barman it wasn’t great but he wasn’t interested. £53 for 2 inedible burgers. Fries and coleslaw ok. Won’t bother again tbf

We had a table for 6 and we all ordered different meals, the food was beautifully presented and exceptional quality! We highly recommend the Lamb tagine with couscous, katsu chicken curry and the steaks. Staff were efficient and attentive. Fabulous value for money and will definitely return!

Lovely traditional pub. The landlord was friendly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Our dogs were welcome inside the pub and there’s also a large secure beer garden out the back. We enjoyed our visit and of course the cask ale we popped in for. Will definitely be back.
