The Battered Cod in Stockport

Ordered on Ubereats, fish was lovely along with the chips and curry sauce

Haven't ordered from the Battered Cod in almost a year. Disappointed with the cod, way too thin and too much batter. The food was fresh and hot. I prefer a think piece of Cod, I'd even pay extra. I might try again in another year.

Said outside next to the door chips+fish+peas and a free can for 9.10£ paid 10.90 and didn’t even get a drink

When I asked a local to recommend a fish and chip shop, the enthusiastic response was "The Battered Cod". I took the suggestion and was glad I did. Delicious, tender fish with lovely malt vinegar and chips. I highly recommend this establishment. The service was great and the price reasonable.

I've been going for years and it is the best chippy.

Arrived a few minutes before closing time so not much selection. The food was OK.

Very good quality food. Fish was crispy and fresh. Chips were well cooked.

Slightly on the more expensive side compared to some chippies, but not extortionate. In my opinion, worth it though, chips are great, gravy is good. Fish was nice but a little bit on the greasy side. Asked for it lightly battered but they struggled a bit with this. Still a very nice fish though.

Freshly cooked, great sized portions, always good.

The fish is the worst I’ve ever had they must buy the cheapest available . It was soggy more batter than fish and tasteless I threw most of it away . Certainly won’t be using this shop again

Asked for lightly battered fish. Disgusted hardly any fish, maybe 3inch x1inch, Max. Clearly the amount of batter covers fish hides the small portion of enclosed fish. The fish was covered in thick batter which disguised fact of the minuscule portion of fish. Will not be using this place again

This is absolutely the best fish and chip shop for miles! The fish is fried at time of order and the chips are delicious. The staff are very friendly. Please be aware that they only take cash payments.

I first visited here last week when I was working as it was the only chippy open. I am now hooked! This has to be one of the best fish and chip shops around. The staff are extremely friendly, portion sizes are HUGE and the prices are reasonable. The flavours are incredible. I live quite some distance from here but have found myself now travelling out to it as its that's good. Well done guys and see you soon!

Very clean establishment, friendly staff, had the Scottish Cod (x2), Chips(x2), Mushy Pea's & Gravy also 8 Chicken Fillet Nuggets. Good portions and my son wolfed down the chicken pieces they were lovely I had two :)

Always good value and delicious food - the fish are especially good.

Dissapointed, no card payments, walked to the cash point in the rain, ordered a chip and curry barm which was nice but too small to be even called a childs portion and cost £3.50.

Lovely place for a quick dinner. Definitely one I'd come back to.

Had some amazing fish and chips with peas here, with good portion size with a fair price. it came in a enviro friendly container to boot, really impressed. Take cash only but definitely worth it with a cash machine just up the road.

Would of been 5 but don't do those amazing sausage rolls from mobberly bakery there own are alright but not as good but everything else great well worth a visit
