Bene before but this is a first review. Busy when we arrived - super helpful staff got us seated (only coffee and cake), lovely big slices and I like the different flavours of cake on offer - not the usual suspects. Very busy.

Enjoyed a stone baked pizza style lunch, one with cheese & tomato, the other with salami. Unfortunately they missed off one of the extra toppings after waiting 20 mins but this was soon remedied by our smiling waitress. The place is large and well designed. Perfect for a leisurely breakfast or lunch. The childrens play area means families can all enjoy their food. A great place and environment

Very disappointed 😞 with service and over complicated food, sauces did not complement the food, it was so slow to be served and really quick to be served, main cam before starters. Lovely venue. Unfortunately, it was overpriced, too.

Wow loved the coffee and the cakes weren’t too sweet so superb! Definitely will go back there again to try out the chocolate cake! 🥰

Always a lovely brunch, although the menu had changed this time and we missed the "bubble & squeak"!

Lovely atmosphere and setting , relaxed and friendly staff but been twice now and food disappointing on both occasions. Used to be amazing when in the yurt but not now sadly. I would have sent my burnt skillet back had I not been taken out for lunch & didn’t want to make a fuss ….

It’s very loud in there and hard to hear each other speak. There weren’t many ‘normal’ meal choices like a beef burger or fish and chips. My friend asked if they could make the kids fish goujons and chips into an adult size but no. My 2 friends ended up just having fries as there was nothing they liked the sound of. They also had water as they didn’t have normal coke, just some horrible cheap tasting cola. Oh and no one acknowledged us for a good 5 minutes as they were all chatting away.

Busy lunchtime, we had not booked a table, but they were able to provide us a table for 2. We both had a venison burger, which was delicious. The service was friendly, and food arrived quickly even though they were busy. We both enjoyed the food , and the place had a good atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back again. There is plenty of car park spaces, and the outdoor area is under cover and has an open fire They also provided blankets to help keep you warm as it was a bit chilly and had been raining recently. thanks to everyone on the team for a great lunch.

Absolutely delicious food in a picturesque barn with fast and friendly service, being dog friendly was just the cherry on top. Only downside was the wait got a table but that could have been remedied by us booking although I couldn't find a booking form or website to do so.

Amazing atmosphere and afternoon tea. My new favorite place in England to get afternoon tea, it’s definitely delicious, highly recommend. Good variety, vegetarian and vegan options.

We have just celebrated our 60th Birthday with a party at the Peterley Manor Farm Barn Kitchen. The whole affair was organised for us by Pippa and her team, who were extremely efficient, well organised and had thought of everything. The planning in advance, the preparations on the day, the thoughtful little touches were all great, and our guests were very complimentary. The food, drinks and overall service were very professional and we were able to enjoy the party without having to worry. We had a wonderful evening, and if you are considering a top-notch party venue, then this is an excellent choice.

Had a great brunch here, service was amazing as always, I do wish you had some plant milk other than glebe farm oat which is very bitter. Most places have a variety of plant milks to choose from.

Went for lunch to try this local restaurant and we were initially very positively surprised by the location. The barn has been refurbished very nicely. The waitress kindly prepared a table for us despite not having booked. Service has been pleasant during the whole lunch. Foodwise, it was a disgrace. I ordered a burger and I was basically told that I couldn't chose how this is cooked. After I discovered that they are actually precooked. A 15 pounds burger was basically a precooked patty with 1 slice of tomato and 1 slice of cucumber. The aioli at the bottom was far too much, thick and it didn't really taste of anything, while the green sauce on top was too salty and not much else (was this supposed to be a chimichurri?). The patty was most probably sitting there for a while as I had bloating issues afterwards. My wife ordered the cassoulet with smoked sausages and also in this case this was a big disappointment. Sausages might have been quite nice but were over-smoked. The soup was far too salty and it tasted like had been frozen, there was no taste of beans, just salt and fennel seeds. The food is overpriced considering the size of the portions and the execution of the dishes. There might be some decent ingredients involved but the feeling is that you are being served badly prepared cantine food at premium prices in a nice location. The beetroot cake was ok. I don't think we will be rushing back.

Pls do something about this “shot locally” for us vegetarians is vile. Be careful if this gets around to animal rebellion they will stage a sit in ! - seriously this is an utterly disgusting description of a dish on your menu farmers or not - thank you in anticipation 🙏🏼and please leave the deer alone!

My friends who live in the area took us here for lunch as they had been here before and liked it, and so did I yesterday. Mussels in the fish stew were sweet and plump 😍, the rosemary focaccia soaked up the sauce of the stew were simply great flavour combo. I liked the sausage a lot too, but I think the cassoulet was the star of the dish somehow. I did not understand the charred spring onion though (not fennel as said on menu), it was slightly stringy. The restaurant has good atmosphere both inside and outside seating (we were outside sitting by the fire, so we dined with a lovely firewood cracking background sound).☺️

The decor is very good. Service was friendly and fast. The food was very well presented and tasty - certainly well above a standard cafe experience. Pricing is slightly higher than most places, but justified for the quality. The waitress did make a point of saying that I can choose the gratuity when paying. The service was good, but not above what I would expect - anyway, I gave a 10% (£5) tip and got a courtesy 'thank you'. The farm shop has a lot of good produce.

Fabulous place, ambience nice.. BUT let down was waiting at the door to be seated (when we booked our table) and our food, we ordered flatbreads very disappointing very dry and bland! Staff seemed to struggle with volume of customers although it was not full.. I will give it another go as the place is great and try something else on the menu.. Perhaps it’s teething problems we shall see….

I can see this place going from strength to strength. They’ve got it pretty much spot on. Great decor, good staff, dog friendly. The outdoor dining area, with a fabulous fire, is getting bigger and I love the outdoor kitchen. The shepherds hut serving coffee has a separate seating area which stops 20 cyclists turning up and hogging the seating area. I understand they now do a Friday evening meal - yet to try that - but if the food’s as good as the daytime offer it’ll be a huge success.

Our new favourite Chiltern retreat. Aside from the simple but stylish design there are really 3 seating areas to suit all weathers and preferences. Our first visit was a full success. Had drinks and cakes and were services promptly and friendly. Saturday afternoon spent in relaxing athmosphere. Special attention was paid to locally sourced products, the low calorie sparkling dring (below 12) is from Hughenden (something that was a bit of a surprise to me). The Barn Kitchen is dog friendly and offers breakfast from 8:30am all day and 9am on Sunday. Can't wait to book that.

I love coming back to Peterley in an area we used to live with fond memories of the children growing up , and have seen it evolve over 27 years to the wonderful space it is today . We had a delicious brunch yesterday and the cakes are so good I had to take some away . Seeing the new outdoor kitchen serving flatbreads and burgers amongst other things made me want to come back for lunch as soon as possible ! Pushed for time I quickly ran over to the strawberry field and filled my punnet to the brim with the sweetest deep red delicious fruit . Then there’s the farm shop and the nursery filled with the amazing bright summer colours everywhere and herb house where you can be sure to find something you always knew you needed ! Definitely recommend a visit and allow lots of time !

Very nice looking place we booked the table arrived and had a choice to be seated in or outside. We have chosen table outside and our order was taken fast and arrived quickly. Food was good but we waited for long time for someone to take our plates away in the end we had call passing waitress and ask her to take our plates away and to get dessert menu. We waited over 20 minutes after that for someone to take our order in the end we left very disappointed and pay at the bar.

Something else for a change from local Polcat Inn in Prestwood. Just went today and had a ciabatta with egg instead of crispy bacon which was on the menu as am not a big fan of bacon. They served literally just that- ciabatta with an egg. No decoration on the plate, no condiments, no S&P on the table. Well, one could say you ahould ask for it but I would say it should be offered or delivered with the order. Haven't tried any cakes yet, so I will revisit but at the moment I am only impressed with the decor and the building construction. To impress me like Polcat Inn did the barn kitchen has a long way to go.

Disappointing vegan options for lunch. I didn't want anything as big as a burger si I chose the marrowfat peas on sourdough toast. Peas were too hard and the whole thing was quite dry with too much chilli. Coffee was good, but I won't go for lunch here again unless there's a big improvement.

I ordered the burger with sourdough as I cannot eat yeast (the burger usually comes with a brioche bun). It was probably the best burger I've ever had. The patty was amazing, the chips were good and the add-on bacon was super crispy. I was served by Evie, who was lovely and very helpful. She went out of her way to check for allergens for me, and I'm very appreciative of this. The seating was comfortable and it wasn't cold indoors, which is great to know especially now in the winter. I would recommend Minor Figures as an alternative to the current, British oat milk brand. Minor Figures works well for both hot and cold coffees as well as tea. The current PureOaty brand tastes of oats and for me, it's off-putting as I want to taste the coffee as opposed to the actual cereal grain. It's for this reason that I won't be trying desserts at the Barn Kitchen or sticking around after my meal for a coffee, sadly. But overall, a fantastic place with great food and service.

This was such a shame, the place looked lovely and we used to come to strawberry cafe all the time so were really excited to try the breakfast here but it was so lacklustre and felt very rushed. We brought our friends visiting from Spain here as a treat because we knew how good the food at strawberry cafe was and we were a little embarrassed. The vegan breakfasts came out with no scrambled tofu which is what we really wanted. The sweetcorn fritters we’re not nice at all, full of turmeric and tasted like onion bhaji, the beans were hard and cold so they tasted uncooked. The toast was overdone and almost burnt, the mushrooms were so plain and soggy like you’d expect at a greasy spoon. For £12 we were disappointed. They did apologise with a brownie but we now don’t know if this was just a one off or if the food is just bad here??

I am really disappointed. The person who receives a customer like I have done something to him (I don't know about others - I am an Indian, so i felt like.........). All the time(sunday) needs to be booked. My family (3 members) didn't get a table 3 times.

Tasty food and some choices of Portuguese gastronomy. Big portions. Portuguese cod fish cakes were a must to have it.
