Visit this area for short breaks annually. Tynemouth / Cullercoats / Whitley Bay is very foodie indeed but this one is unique and always a pleasure to pop into. Food for humans is simple but very tasty and fresh (cooked breakfasts, home made soup, sandwiches / toasties, baked potatoes etc. Doggy treats are innovative and taste as good as they look (or so out he tells me). Lovely people work here too - they couldn't be nicer.

We brought our 13 week puppy, Ollie here for puppy socialisation. He loved it! There was a little gated area for them to play with toys, whilst we had some breakfast. The owners are lovely too. We will definitely be back. There was also some treats for dogs too.

My partner and I bring our dog here often, she loves the pupcakes and meaty treats, it has recently been taken over but new owners seem very friendly. The food isn’t anything special but it’s cheap and cheerful and it’s not really the human food you go for! It’s great for the dogs to be able to be off the lead and socialise whilst getting lots of treats and affection. Will definitely be coming back regularly

We took our two dogs along for a different experience. We were not disappointed the boys were made so welcome and enjoying playing in the pen before having beef loaf cake for a treat while us humans had a delicious snack. This is a great place to take your poochies and relax in a lovely relaxing environment.. The dogs also ended up with new harnesses looking handsome

We visited The barking bistro on Sunday morning. This place is amazing . Both Rueben and Millie had a great time. There is water for them as you come in. Plenty of treats to buy and even a bottle of pawsecco which we had to buy. There is a menu for both dogs and humans . I chose a peace of home made victoria sponge , has to be the best i have ever tasted . My hubby had a bacon sarnie . The place and staff are fantastic. Thank you so much. If you have or love dogs I would highly recommend The barking bistro x

We recently visited Whitley bay and were thrilled to come across this super cute dog cafe. The owner is lovely and friendly. The cafe is perfect for both doggies and humans alike. Very reasonably priced. Our labradoodle loved the pup cake and the non alcoholic beef dog beer. Well worth a visit if you are in Whitley bay.

Found this lovely place open on a Bank Holiday Monday when the majority of cafes where closed in Whitley Bay Town. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and enjoy meeting dogs and their owners. There's a nice selection of sandwiches/toasties, cakes and scones for humans and a special range of food and treats for dogs. They also make great coffee. My wife and I don't have dogs so didn't know what to expect but the cafe owners keep everything so clean and there's a good atmosphere. We enjoyed our visit so much we've been back and have recommended it to others.

The most wonderful fun & friendly café who welcome all dogs large & small. They describe themselves as a 'dedicated dog cafe', & they certainly are! Clean, bright & beautifully decorated with doggy themes, there's a small fenced off area inside with artificial grass for four-legged companions to play & socialise, complete with toys & water bowls. For the well-behaved humans, there's an array of home-baked mouth-watering cakes. We visited today with our current Guide Dog in training & had delicious latte's & fluffy, melt-in-the-mouth scones with clotted cream & jam - absolutely yummy! For the hounds, there were treats, biscuits & equally delicious looking cheese or peanut butter 'pup-cakes'. Staff were genuinely warm & welcoming. The café has only been open since April & this will definitely not be our last visit. Highly recommended!

Beware as Google maps told us it was closed on Saturdays but it is open. It's a lovely bright space, comfortable for hours of chat without feeling you should leave! Good menu choices. Coffee was good.
