The Bar at The Athenaeum in City of London, Westminster

I had the pleasure of visiting the establishment last month for a few drinks. I was staying next door at the Down Street apartments. The waitress who served us was exceptionally lovely and provided excellent service. It was a Monday evening, so the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, which was quite enjoyable.

Great spot for afternoon cocktails. Friendly staff. Quiet. Good value for money.

The use of fennel (and chamomile maybe? not sure i figured out the taste) in the meringue dessert is awesome

Fab afternoon accompanying my husband and son while they did a whisky and cheese experience. We were made welcome by all the staff.

Had a great whisk(e)y & cheese tasting here. Very good selection of 4 whiskys from all over the world paird well with 4 kinds of Brittish cheese. The Bartender was amazing and provided a lot of additional explanations!

One of my favourite bars in London. Great staff, really know their cocktails and have a great repertoire. Usually quite quiet but it is super stylish, comfortable and not stuffy at all. Highly recommend for anyone in the area but wanting something slightly quieter.

Bartenders knew their business. Unexpectedly knowledgeable and capable. Food was pricey but nailed the "upscale bar food" niche.

Came here for the whisky bar once. Good selection and knowledgeable bar staff but unsurprisingly very expensive, and I got the impression the average clientèle was more composed of business travelers rather than whisky connoiseurs.
