Situated on the high street and has a light and airy feel. The atmosphere feels perfect. The staff work extremely hard ensuring your needs are taken care of. Been twice now and equally impressed.

A lovely evening at this very relaxed restaurant. The food was excellent and the service first-rate. We will definitely return, especially for the treacle tart! It was scrumptious.

Beautiful food, attentive service but not intrusive, didn't feel rushed. Whole menu was wonderful from the warm foccacia with good olive oil when we arrived to the wonderful treacle tart with clotted cream and raspberries to finish. Lots of little delights in between - pork and apricot terine, rack of lamb with lemon broccoli, spiced faggot and carrot puree. Delicious! A real treat - would definitely recommend.

Dull,Dull and very very overpriced and over rated. Unfortunately we were so disappointed with The Bank after seeing the ratings. We arrived to a very quiet restaurant which was surprising considering it was Friday night in the middle summer but all was revealed. The service was a little slow at first but nothing to complain about, the atmosphere and decor was dull, dull, dull ( you could hear a pin drop ) . We ordered olives to share, Salmon tagliatelle, sea bass for main and Eaton mess for dessert. The olives were very nice but unfortunately the Salmon tagliatelle was very, very bland, the salmon and prawns were very over cooked and who on earth thought it was a good idea to put courgettes and cherry tomatoes in tagliatelle ?? The sauce was a bit like parsley sauce. I tried to salvage it with plenty of salt but still very bland. My wife’s sea bass was very small dish with no presentation and for £33 you expect some bells and whistles !! So the Eaton mess , o dear, two blobs of strawberry ice cream shop bought meringue whirls, one strawberry cut into four with strawberry coulis in a cereal bowl !!! £8.50 ? Total bill was £85 with a large glass of wine and one tonic water with lime. Now I know why it was very quiet for a Friday night in the middle of summer. Good luck with the future I for one will not be returning.

“Some of the best food I’ve had in a while“ said one of our party, which is a good reflection on our visit. The service was good, the decor lovely and the food the star. Complimentary bruschetta was fresh and served with a tasty olive oil. We shared the ham croquettes, which were freshly cooked and crisp not greasy. The mains were Romesco Crusted Cod and Paprika Chicken Breast. Both were great, large portions, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. Desserts of custard tart with roasted rhubarb and Jamaica Ginger Cake finished the meal in style. The Bank did not have any draught beer, but the bottle of Purple Moose Ysgawen was served at a lovely temperature. My only criticism was the playlist, which was incongruous with the setting. I’d recommend a visit 👍

This place is AMAZING! The asparagus and pea soup are heavenly. Strongly recommend! Every dishes is tasty. We order lamb meatball humus, scalap , beetroot carpaccio and soup for starter. For main we order lobster, prawn tagliatelle, duel beef, and duck breast. Tagliatelle is a bit too creamy(but the salmon on top is cooked perfectly), but everything else is simply very very well cooked. Would definitely revisit when we get a chance. This place is at least a bib gourmet if Michelin ever come and rate this place.

So lovely we dined there both nights we were in Barmouth. The food was superb - great tasting and the portion sizes were perfect. Not a single complaint from our party about any of the dishes we chose. Great choice of drinks there too! Service was outstanding. Look forward to going back next time I'm in Barmouth

I have visited every time I'm in Barmouth for the last 9 + years. The competition for great dinning in Barmouth is at a very very high level these days. I would ask that yourselves and others have more choices for GF and vegetarian . But thank you again for a great meal with my brothers.

Booked here for our last meal in Barmouth and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Probably the nicest food you'll find locally, don't let the price tag put you off. The food and service were great. They also went above and beyond for one of us who were vegan.

Service was good and very friendly. We had the monkfish and chicken breast. It was very tasty but portions could be bigger. For dessert, I had the dark chocolate tart. Again, portions were small. All in all we found that it was quite pricey but enjoyed our meal.

Amazing food and ambience. We visit on holiday every year and the quality never ceases to deliver. Staff are great. Perfection.

Another excellent experience. Great service and food at reasonable prices. Not our first visit and certainly not our last. Very good range of dishes on the menu makes it difficult to choose. Settled for pork belly start and a perfectly cooked steak with coconut rice pudding to finish. Our favourite restaurant by some distance.

The food was above average, unfortunately this was tainted by the absolutely pretentious service that was provided by the staff in the restaurant while on a lovely holiday to the seaside.

We booked a table in advance and it was expected to be slightly high end kind of restaurant. The service was exceptionally good and welcomed. The food price wasn't over the top but portion of foods could be dainty. The lamb rump with a bed of leek cheese sauce was a little like a messy presentation but cheesy and somehow is slightly too salty than my liking. Asparagus peas ricotta vegetarian lagsane was yummy, the fried courgettes were nice to eat. Dessert bread and butter pudding in whiskey custard sauce was really dainty and crispy bread. How I wish the whiskey sauce could be more generous than it was. Thank you for the great table service and complimented foccacia bread and olive oil. Hopefully next time we there again can try other dishes. I was hopeful to get another bottle local beer but colder and more heads than the one I had.

We had a brilliant night, the food was very nice. The service was very good too. When we return to Barmouth this will be on our list, again! Hope we get table 6 next to 9. It was fun! All staff were perfect.

What a wonderful building to have an amazing dining experience. A truly beautiful meal, the food was outstanding, cooked to perfection and we will definitely be going again.

This restaurant is something special. The food was fresh and cooked too a very high standard. Good balance of fish/meat and vegetarian meals. The waitress were very friendly and high lighted dishes to try Price also good, not cheap and not over the top.

Whenever we are in the area we always try to manage dinner at The Bank, but today for no reason other than we knew we would have an amazing lunch and superb service we didn’t mind a two hour drive, and thats exactly what we had , well worth it thank you , Happy Mothers Day 🥰

This is the place to go for really beautiful food for a special occasion. Two of our party have food intolerances and we ordered in advance though I have eaten there without advance warning. They are always very careful and there is plenty to choose from.

Lovely food, lively restaurant… it’s a dreary February night but The Bank is full. Our food was delicious- the steak exceptionally well cooked. And the dessert platter was gorgeous.

Staying in Barmouth for a few months while house hunting. It's early in the year so lots of places are closed and the standard is generally poor but then I found The Bank! Valentine's menu - the venue was decorated with hints to match but I didn't feel out of place as a solo old man. What a menu though! Fantastic food, beautifully presented. Charming, friendly service. Such a refreshing find. Hard to believe this is Barmouth.

The food was OK but no more than that. I may be very much mistaken but the food that I ate appeared to have been frozen and thawed out, my shoetbread tasted stale. The decor, venue and services lacked the finesse that I would expect for the prices charge.

Superb menu, service & food. Even though it I was the only customer they made me feel very welcome. The croquettes while browsing were excellent and the duo of beef stunning.

Poor experience at the Bank Barmouth. Starter was a chowder. It had one piece of prawn in it , disappointing but tasty enough. Main course of steak ( no sauces available to go with it) expensive and the pollenta chips were not to my taste....

The food was very poor. The so called rump of lamb was in fact two thin slices of lamb covered in uncooked white fat which was so hard that the steak knife just could not cut the fat off. The only option was to set the rump to one side and eat the vegetables. Not great.

My wife and I had dinner here and it was excellent . The menu was great, just enough choice and we could have eaten the lot. We shared an amuse bouche ham croquettes, then had a terrine and Waldorf salad starters. Mains were duet of beef and cod on Mediterranean beans with tomatoes and chorizo sauce. We shared a coconut rice pudding. It was all excellent, service was great and there was a really good and reasonably priced wine list too. We have been going to Barmouth for years and we can’t quite figure out why we haven’t been here before, we will definitely be back soon. Highly recommended!

This is the second year running that we have eaten at The Bank in Barmouth during our annual golfing trip to Harlech, Aberdovey and Conwy. Eating at The Bank has become one of the highlights of our trip!

This restaurant is an absolute gem. They know their food. Run with efficient and friendly service on the old bank floor with a lovely atmosphere. Arrived a little early and was asked to wait with the offer of drinks, lovely made G&T. Sat on time, menu short but still had a lovely variety. Specials were perfect. Facaccia and olive oil served. We ordered both specials, the Seafood Bisque and cheese scone was exceptional. We shared a whole lobster with the best ever polenta chips. It came hot in garlic with a julienne salad. We finished with an expresso martini. The restaurant was full, and the floor was run by two of the hardest working people I've seen.
