Have been coming here for a few years now and the quality of the food is always to a high standard. Mo provides an excellent service...feels like a home from home would recommend the Baltic Cuisine to anyone who enjoys a good curry.

The Balti Cuisine is far and away my favourite restaurant. I have been one of Mo’s customers there for as long as I can remember - certainly 25 years. Recently I have had to curtail my visits regretfully - age catching up with me mostly but I have referred lots of friends and acquaintances there over the years “ the best curry restaurant in Western Europe “ I tell them and every single one of those I sent there for their favourite curry have agreed that the food there is totally exquisite. Delicate flavours- obviously good ingredients and freshly cooked by a chef or chefs that know their menu inside out - and what an extensive menu it is. Mo updates and refreshes it quite regularly - it evolves. My favourite is Chicken Methi madras, I can taste it now as I sit in my home writing this. Fabulous. The service is second to none and Mo stocks a good selection of drinks - especially good wine for me. The guys from Cambridge Solar that came from Machynlleth to fit 12 solar panels on my brother’s bungalow - one of whom was a Vindaloo curry nerd himself - the other two merely loved curry - turned up the following morning wowing the praises of each of their chosen meals. What more needs saying? Get over there and treat yourself.

Creo que la verdadera prueba de un buen restaurante es la fidelidad de su clientela. Si la gente vuelve una y otra y otra vez. Así que después de haber comido otro excelente methi de pollo en la cocina Balti esta noche me aventuré a preguntarle a Mo , el propietario, qué porcentaje de sus clientes son habituales - y él respondió 60 a 70 por ciento. No me sorprendió esto. Yo mismo he sido un habitual durante los últimos 26 años, así que el hecho de que haya un alto porcentaje de habituales no me sorprende en lo más mínimo.

As always I enjoyed quality food from The Balti Cuisine. Apologies to delivery man for missing call, I was expecting doorbell to ring, not phone, and for not having order number to hand, never been asked for it before. I'll be prepared next time!

I'd been a regular customer at the fabulous BC since the 90s, but hadn't visited for a few years after a house move. We came last night as a group of five and I'm happy to say that it's every bit as good as it was, with the same superb standard of food and hospitality as always. To achieve such a consistent level of excellence over such a long period is testament to Mo's dedication and his own personal high standards. He's the heart of the place, but the whole team should be commended for making our visit so enjoyable. There's not much point in mentioning the food, you just need to know that whatever you order, it'll be delicious! I definitely won't be leaving it so long to come back!

Another great night at the Balti,lovely meal as always ,I highly recommend to anyone who has not been too eat here to try it out,you won't be disappointed.

I've been to this lovely restaurant 2 times so far, and the service and atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxed. The service is excellent and are a big credit to themselves and the restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, the chutneys, Naan breads and the rice is top notch. The curry which I like very hot is the best ones I've tasted. The East Bengal with garlic and chilli is a top recommendation on the menu with the classic choice of Indian beers to go with it. 5/5 Stars!

I am writing to share a deeply disappointing experience my husband and I had while visiting The Balti Cusine. We came in with anticipation for a pleasant meal, looking forward to trying your renowned mixed grill. As we typically do when dining out, we decided to share a mixed grill platter with naan, along with an extra side of rice, as we didn’t want to waste food. However, the evening took an unfortunate turn due to the behavior and attitude of one of your staff/ owner. When the server/ owner,Muhammed, came to take our order, he informed us—without prior notice—that your restaurant has a policy requiring each guest to order a separate main course. Although we were surprised, we responded respectfully and placed an additional order of two biryanis, fully understanding that this was not what we had initially planned. Given that we had not been informed about this policy in advance, I politely asked Muhammed if there was somewhere it was documented, such as on the menu or within the restaurant. Rather than addressing my concern, he replied curtly, stating that it is a rule that prevents guests from ordering “only for £5 to £15,” and that sharing food was discouraged due to the cost of the table linen. He mentioned that the restaurant has been running for the past 50 years and surprises me of the values he has gained during this journey. His tone throughout the conversation was discourteous and dismissive, a stark contrast to what we had expected from a professional hospitality setting. When we tried to express that a more polite approach would have been appreciated, Muhammed abruptly told us that he would not take our order and asked us to leave the restaurant. This interaction was both shocking and hurtful, and left us feeling that the refusal of service was a clear act of discrimination. We couldn’t help but feel that we were being treated differently due to our ethnicity, which is particularly distressing as it came from someone who himself shares a similar background. As a Muslim myself, I was particularly disheartened by his refusal to serve us with dignity and kindness, as hospitality is a core value in our shared faith. Our experience at your restaurant felt exclusionary and unwelcoming in a way that I hope is not representative of your values. I urge you to reflect on how this situation could have been handled more professionally and respectfully. No guest should leave a dining experience feeling hurt, unwelcome, or judged based on their appearance. I’m writing this review as I wish no one else would have to face such a situation ever in their lives again .

Ningún huésped debe dejar una experiencia gastronómica sintiéndose herido, inoportuno o juzgado en función de su apariencia. Escribo esta reseña ya que desearía que nadie más tuviera que enfrentarse a una situación así nunca más en sus vidas.

The worst meal I’ve ever had, truly awful.

Having been away from the UK for five years, we went back today and yes it’s as good as always. Old fav Rohan Josh lamb. We both ordered the wonderful dips for the great poppadoms too !!!

The food and the service here are really fantastic

This used to be my favourite Indian restaurant, which I would highly recommend to friends/family, not any more! Ordered a chicken madras, arrived swimming in oil, onion bhagis with mint sauce, onion salad and popadoms. The onion bhagis arrived but no mint sauce, onion salad or popadoms! I rang the restautant to kindly tell them they had not been delivered to be rudely told "its not there fault, it was the Deliveroo drivers fault". I had paid for these items and they WOULD NOT deliver them to me or apologise. The whole meal went in the bin. I will NEVER order from this restaurant again, the staff used to be so lovely, but whether or not they have changed staff, they seriously need to look at their customer service skills!

It was absolutely immaculate. Don't remember having been to a better place to eat, 10/10 !

Excellent food. The vegetable dhansak is absolutely gorgeous, packed full of taste and flavour. Probably the tastiest vegetarian curry you will ever eat. The chapati was beautifully soft and stretchy, not hard and chewy like so many places. The guys were happy with their food too. The delivery was surprisingly fast - only around half an hour. We usually come here for a big family meal on my son's birthday but this is going to be our permanent 'go to' curry delivery place from now on!

I recently came to Cardiff for work with my colleagues and let me tell you the food was excellent!. The service was also phenomenal also the atmosphere was excellent too. Thank you Mo for a great time it was a pleasure I will 100% visit again when I come To Cardiff. The Balti Cuisine really is the best restaurant in Cardiff!

Always top class , great food everytime

The most delicious food we’ve ever had at an Indian restaurant in Cardiff. Very welcoming, attentive staff and clean, comfortable surroundings. Very reasonably priced too, we highly recommend it!

Food was good but unfortunately there was only one container of boiled rice instead of the two that were paid for in my £39-42 bill. I asked just eat for the £3-49 cost of one container of boiled rice to be refunded but haven’t received a reply. Having only one container of rice to share between two meals certainly spoiled the enjoyment of the meal.

Been living in Cathays for 8 years and this was our first visit - it won't be our last as its excellent!

All I can say is........superb. My food was excellent, service was excellent and the atmosphere was busy bur so chilled. What more could you ask for? Keep up the excellent work staff at Balti Cuisine. I would definitely recommend the company to anyone. It's a must try 🖤🖤

I came from Bristol with my family and my father has never had a curry, so we chose to balti cusine and it was AMAZING, The service was excellent and the staff were quick with the drinks and papadoms and also the food, the manger Mo and the waiters was very polite , will definitely come again , Best curry house in Cardiff!

Wowwww, just wow. All I can say is that I had the most extravagant meal I have had in a while!!!! No other Indian restaurant can live up to this one. From the warm customer service of the top legends himself Mo, he has been an absolute superstar and is always up for a cheeky laugh. Not to forget his son who knows how to keep everyone smiling. The food itself came out piping hot, had a very cheeky lamb jalfrezi and the chicken biryani was out of this world. And that biryani sauce was something magical. Keep it up lads, will see you next time!!!

Missing Item so I called them, didn’t really want to talk, didn’t ask my order number or anything, just trying to hurry me off the phone saying that it would be the delivery drivers fault and to contact JustEat for refund. Disappointing. Food I had was good tho!

My first visit here and really enjoyed it. Food was fabulous and the staff were lovely and friendly. Not the cheapest Indian I’ve been to but definitely one of the best. The place was nicely decorated and very clean. Will be going again soon.

Had a family birthday last night and it was absolutely lovely, the staff are excellent and cannot do enough for you. The food is varied with lots of choice of your classics but also a lot of unique dishes with own little twist, everyone thoroughly enjoyed there meals, definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again for sure. Top notch

7 of us visited for my Step Daughter’s 14th Birthday and what a great experience! From the service to the food to the value for money, we had a really great meal. Nothing was too much trouble and staff were only too willing to describe and recommend dishes. Even the singing of “Happy Birthday “ was instigated by the lovely member of staff that lit the candles and brought out the cake! Thank you all so much and we will definitely be using your restaurant more often!

Went here for a date night with my partner. The lamb saag was gorgeous and the service was attentive. Restaurant had good atmosphere. We will be coming back again!

Friendly service and consistently great food.

Went to The Balti Cuisine this evening for a meal and chose the House Special Mixed Grill. Wow, a huge sizzling grill plate full of tandoori chicken, lamb chop, King prawns, barbecue chicken, spicy wings, lamb tikka, Phew I exhausted just listing it !!!! Great value for money. Well worth the visit. Will definitely be back. 👍

Had a fabulous meal tonight at the Balti Cuisine. I ordered Chicken Pathia and as I love my dish a little hotter the chef spiced it up and even added 2 chilli’s! Absolutely perfect 👏🏻can’t wait for our next visit ❤️

Myself, my Husband and our friends came here recently. The food wasn't too bad, had better but would have come back for my husbands birthday as we were planning to book for 30 of us. Our thoughts changed for here when at the end we were paying and manager as us for a tip... That was is, you don't ask for a tip, that is the choice of the customer to leave a tip and not for you to put them in an embarrassing situation where the customer wouldn't decline. I bet the staff don't even get the tip. Terrible situation and will not return. You have lost out on a table of 30 mid week all because of Greed.

My favourite curry place in Cardiff. Staff friendly, food leaves you feeling full but not bloated, happy to box up your leftovers, very reasonable prices. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Top quality food, sometimes we fancy a change but we always come back to The Balti Cuisine as it’s consistently excellent food quality & customer service. Nothing is too much trouble for Mo and his team. Highly Recommended!

This was always a favourite curry house to visit, but the quality of food has deteriorated, no longer authentic flavour. None of the meat curry dishes were marinated in the spices, tasted like meat with curry sauce placed on top. Portions size was small, with 5 pieces of chicken/lamb…I counted!!! Perhaps this was why the table next to us left before us with several bags of empty crisp packets remaining on the table!! Service was also slow, not enough staff available, I think they have crammed in too many seatings with extended restaurant area but not followed through with more staff support. Sitting in the waiting area for our table (which was late) felt like we were waiting for a bus and not very comfortable for the table full of guests who dined next to us. Sadly no longer recommended and food quality needs improvement. Was looking forward to dining out but wished I ordered our usual takeaway!

The food was what I ordered but the chicken and onion bahjees were cold. Salad was nice though..

Many years ago was I introduced by my friend Paul L. from Pontyclun in this loverly restaurant... I haven't been there for at least 5 years and still the owner recognized me.... I was lucky to have again the opportunity to taste the excellent Indian cuisine.... By the apero are the pompadums with the chutney, mint sauce, fresh cut onions and something very hot already a real treat.... I had a Baltic lamb curry, which was really succulent.... Again great food served by a lovely staff in a nice atmosphere. I do recommend the Baltic Cuisine with all my hart, I enjoyed so much being here again and I enjoyed every bite. Thank you very much Mo! You are doing a great job!!!! Please, do continue!!!!

Been going here for a curry for 10 years, usually sit in and having a great experience but wanted a take away this time. No taste in the curry or the naan bread, really disappointed and felt let down and not worth the £40 we spent 😞

Quality of the food was great but there were some mistakes with the order

Couldn’t eat the food very very greasy

2nd time I’ve order food for delivery, in the restaurant food is all lovely. This is the 2nd time it’s be very late over 30 mins. It’s been cold. 1st I had three delays took nearly 2 hours. 2nd time I ordered was before the restaurant had opened so can’t understand why I had a delay saying it was busy. Had text message 10 mins before it was due saying it was on its way. Still came 30 mins late. Food isn’t cheap but when paying over £50 you hope it would be on time and hot. I don’t think I will order a delivery again.

Very disappointed with the food we received. There was about an inch of oil/ grease sitting on top of the cold curries where it had cooled and settled during delivery.

Didn’t like the chicken tikka masala at all,never seen a masala like it before ,tasted sour like it was gone off ?won’t be ordering from here again.

Have eaten here with friends and family a few times. Our last visit was disappointing, not only did we wait forever for our food when it arrived the curry was a much smaller portion to previous and the half and half that was ordered had 6 chips and not much rice. Have to say I do not see any value here, not the cheapest around but I don't look for cheap I look for quality and value for money, this was not met here unfortunately.

One dish was missing from the order. I phoned the restaurant and they were very abrupt. OK, to be fair to them, it was NYE and they were very busy, but there was not apology or understanding of the impact it had on my meal as I had to wait around at home while I cooked my own rice. I ordered a takeaway because I didn't want to cook, so to end up cooking and having to wait longer was not ideal. They "couldn't send replacement food" and hung up the phone without saying goodbye (or apologising).

Excellent food with all the usual favourites but a few new ones to try. Loved the chilli chicken. Staff were amazing- efficient and friendly. Highly recommend!

Though I usually have to warm it up, I’m not bothered because the flavours are amazing. fresh herbs and spices, no strong curry smell in the kitchen. Everything fresh and the tender lamb is superb. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again fantastic !

Absolutely amazing Lamb Balti. Really was tender as described, you could taste all the spices. Bombay potato fabulous, well cooked. Even the popadoms were crispy and mint sauce with no colouring was perfect. It was my first order from this restaurant it excelled in every possible way. I like quality food and I cook fresh quality foods. You will not be sorry ordering from them. Even the smell of curry didn’t linger too long because the spices herbs were fresh. Well done again everyone and thank you 🙏

Not as good as the last time. Such a late delivery it seemed the food was rushed as it was tasteless. Nan bread burnt. Chips hard. Will not be ordering from there again.
