I came here to have a cup of coffee during the dinosaur event that the museum has going on at the moment. The serving staff were lovely, and were interested in some henna I had on my hand from a wedding i had been to. Had a lovely chat and they made me feel welcome. I only had a latte, but it was lovely, and great just sitting on the balcony watching the day go past. Lovely experience and lovely coffee.

I visit here on average once a month to meet a friend for lunch. The service here is always friendly, the food is great (love the cakes!!) and the selection of hot drinks is fantastic. The fact that it is slightly off the beaten track (in that it's not on the high street or particularly close to it) yet is always pleasantly busy, tells you all you need to know. All in all, this is a lovely, slightly hidden, gem which I wholeheartedly recommend.

Excellent coffee (really like how they serve their Americano; nice touch). Service was great even though it was busy. Lovely relaxing surroundings. Prices were OK for what you get. I really liked my ploughman’s; so often you get far too much bread which i don’t want; the local cheese was delicious and the guy who served us told us where its made which was a nice personal touch. Furniture was a bit uncomfortable but hardly the end of the world. We’ll definitely visit again.

The Toasted sandwiches are great especially ham with Brie with Cranberry but Ploughman's was disappointing. Tiny Hovis roll less than a mouthful too much cheese great ham £1 extra making it £8.50. Frankly avoid it. Tea strong & hot. Staff excellent.

We paid an awful lot of money for sandwiches and toasties. £5 for a standard bacon sandwich. And for a large family of 6 it was just way too much. The food tastes nice, and the presentation was also nice, but it really wasn't worth the expense. 2 of our children received their food first but everyone else got there's nearly 10 minutes later meaning that we didn't get to eat together as a family which was really sad. And the 2 that had finished found it boring waiting for everyone else to catch up. Overall, I would not recommend nor would I pay that amount for basically lots of bread again. If we do ever visit the museum we'll eat elsewhere. Staff were friendly however.

This lovely, tranquil cafe has never disappointed. The staff are very attentive and friendly, and although the proprietor is only now approaching completion of his first year at the Balcony Café, he deserves much credit for the innovative menu, made from fresh ingredients, in great combinations. Balcony Café has a relaxed atmosphere, great coffee freshly made, and really good meals and sandwiches (also freshly made to order ). A must for refreshments when you're at the Museum, or just visiting Worcester, and very deserving of local support.

My mum and I have just enjoyed a really lovely birthday lunch at the Balcony Cafe, in the rather grand Worcester Museum and Art Gallery building. The meal we both chose (a grilled halloumi salad on an open wrap) was absolutely delicious and substantial in size. Quality ingredients, well prepared, and delicately flavoured. The young women who served us was the perfect ‘front of house’: naturally friendly and cheerful with everyone. If this cafe was in the centre of town it would be deservedly packed. It is a hidden gem.

Visited here several times since the change of ownership early in the year and each time has been a delight. Clean surroundings, friendly, professional and efficient staff plus a small but very worthwhile menu focussing on soups, sandwiches, toasties, salads plus a daily special or two. Vegetarian and vegan options feature strongly and where possible they even try to ensure the delicious homemade soups are also vegan friendly. Very inventive salads with a mediterannean flavour. Gets very busy over the lunchtime, 1pm - 2pm, I suspect with workers from the surrounding offices, so a visit outside of this period is more likely to get you a table. Clearly run by people who are passionate about fresh, healthy, inventive and locally sourced food.

A small but charming café at the top of the Worcester City Museum and Art Gallery. This occasion was a lunch with my husband. We found the atmosphere to be relaxed and peaceful. A nice selection of light bites. I had the ham salad, the ham was local and free range, always nice to know! A small slice of ham with a lovely leafy salad, home made slaw and potato salad, I asked for some mustard, no problem. I had a ginger beer, lovely. My husband had the a special, cauliflower and apple soup, he said that it had a subtle flavour but was tasty. the only criticism was that, he was given a half a white ham sandwich, which probably could have been a whole one, also the option of brown or white bread would have been an added bonus. He enjoyed his coffee, and he is a bit if a coffee connoisseur! All reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely return. A waitress walked up towards us, then proceeded to arrange the chairs at a table next to ours, not saying a single word! This went on for several minutes, we both looked at each other, expecting her to at least say "I'll be with you in a minute" or something similar - nothing! Not even the offer of a menu, perhaps we had chosen a bad time for some reason, but it was empty apart from us. This is no way to treat customers, the table arrangement can wait a minute surely? My wife and I visited here when we made our first visit to Worcester last week. It was a bit of a hike to find the museum (it is beyond the railway station and not within the main shopping area), but we were so glad we persevered to find the Balcony Cafe. The venue's small size belies it's merit as a cafe - the food and service were without doubt excellent. From the young lady who took our order promptly and pleasantly to the interesting conversation with the proprietor about the signed well-known English soap-opera plaque above the counter, the staff were appropriately attentive and eager to ensure we enjoyed our lunch. Indeed, we understand that before retiring, the proprietor provided on-set meals for the actors and production staff, and the variety of dishes on offer at this cafe indicates his excellent culinary abilities. We certainly recommend this cafe for a tasty, filling meal and tea.

The Balcony Café more than answered the call. It's a haven of peace in the busy city centre. You're surrounded by fine art and architecture. Service is prompt and extremely obliging. A jacket potato is a fairly safe choice, but this one was special - it just melted in the mouth. An interesting menu, at reasonable prices. Lunch here was a very pleasant experience.

Delightful small cafe with an excellent small menu. Service ( for the UK) was excellent and very friendly. Although we had only drinks and cake we were made to feel appreciated.

The museum is well worth a visit and this cafe is a big bonus feature. The museum is free so you can just go to the cafe which is run separately to the museum. There is plenty of good wholesome vegetarian home cooking as well as a selection for meat and fish eaters. I had the soup, soft roll and a drink (standard tea or coffee) deal for £6:50ish. The home made mushroom and fennel soup was very goodRecommended esp if you want healthy food or you are vegetarian.

I popped in to pass time at the museum, but only got as far as the cafe. What a lovely find. Very pleasant and friendly staff, prompt service, excellent food and coffee and the food is beautifully and thoughtfully presented too. I'm so glad I called in by chance. I'll certainly be back.

A gem of a Cafe with personal and enthusiastic service. The Victoria sandwich cake was especially good.

The pub really has gone down hill. Very funny smell, the food is awful and the staff are really rude. The beer is also quite average and the prices seem to have increased a lot since last year. Definitely sad to see this place doing so badly. So many better establishments in Worcester. Avoid!!

Wonderful Sunday Lunch. We cannot remember when we have had such an excellent meal out. No ping ping bought in processed food here. Fresh vegetables, beef was to die for, enormous home cooked Yorkshire pudding. The dessert menu looked lovely but we all were too full. Definitely going to be our first restaurant of choice. Thank you to all of the staff, both front and back of house for a lovely meal.

Popped in, foot sore, a bit late for breakfast and a bit early for lunch and left, later. a man fully relaxed and content with the world. Time to Eat is a real find, what I would call a proper caff. I had the full on breakfast with a generous pot of tea. Just delicious, piping hot and tasty. Lovely atmosphere, a warm welcome and very reasonable prices. Smashing.

Good large space with plenty of room at the bar. PLenty of chpice on the keg taps. Went here as part of Worcester Music Festival (they were acting as one of the venues) so visited several times over the weekend. Good atmosphere.
