We popped in as the curiosity of the lovely bakery. We tried a Portuguese tart and a cherry pie.. we had it outside and we came back for more! :D bought one of the bread and an apple turnover. Absolutely delicious! We'll definitely come back. The lady who served us was also very nice!

The best artisan bakery in Muswell Hill. The owner is making everything from scratch and no addition of any preservatives or artificial flavours. So far, I have tried their bread, the cheesecake, the croissant, the lemon muffin and the amazing challa. I got back for a second one. The owner- a lovely man- works extremely hard and long hours, you still find him up to 22:00 -if not 23:00 - in the bakery serving and baking fresh cookies. He might be in the back baking or preparing the dough- if you don't see him in the front- ringing the bell is useful. Clean place and authentic artisan bakery.

There was one chocolate brownie left behind the window, I cheekily beat my friend in ordering it, but then they procedures into going into the back room and putting out my brownie out of the fridge. This Puzzled me slightly but I left and went on my way. When I began eating into it, I noticed that it was just crumbling away and actually smell really disgusting . I barly ate half it was just too nasty to finish, Really disappointed with this place first time I visited it .

Ghastly. I used to get lovely food from here a few years ago. The Bakewell tart was an offence to Bakewell. No almond flavour whatsoever. Won't be going here again. Such a shame. Independent bakeries are usually tasty homemade products.

Their cheesecake is one of the best ones I’ve ever had. The owner is very friendly I have also tried the apple pie which is great too 😍😍 Would highly recommend it

One of the few places in London you can get a proper crusty role sandwich, excellent mince pies, proper cornish pasty, and cherry pie. the sour bread is good too. An iconic and classic bakery thats been around for a long time.

I swear a trip to Muswell Hill isn’t it without buying a cholla or a bagel at this bakery. Love the fresh donuts and croissants. Staff is always so lovely and friendly.

The cheesecake is legendary....unfortunately the people behind the counter sneer at you, so you probably won't have fond memories of anything you buy. Atrocious service, who knows why the shopkeep is so nasty. Yuck.

I got in as the smell from there was delicious and was very empty. My surprise was that I was scolded by a man because I didn't know the name of the bread and I didn't saw the bell to call him (he was on the back and I knocked). The "croissant" was alright and the "apple turnover" was pretty bad, lots of baking powder taste. No wonder why the place was so empty. Definetly I won't return.

Ordered a cheese and salad beget,and was so nice I went back later after work for another one. Also had a lovely jam donut. 10/10,The owner is a very nice person.

I was always seeing its cheesecakes and assuming it's so delicious. It was awful. No taste of cheese in that cheesecake, just strong smell of milk fat and egg. Terrible

Popped in to see what tickled my taste buds! I came out with a lovely ginger bread man and a mince pie. Both delicious not overly sweet. Would definitely without a doubt return to try something else. Highly recommend to support local bakeries and small businesses in general. They are the bread and butter of our economy 👍

You will not taste better mince pies than the ones you’ll get here. So delicious. Well worth buying at any time of year, not just Christmas. I love this place. It’s such an understated gem of a bakery. Sure, not everything is fancy, but it’s all made fresh and with a great deal of passion; it’s not pumped with preservatives and the usual rubbish you find in other bakeries.

By far the best bakery yet. Literally get off my bus to buy their food before continuing my commute. Very polite and speedy service

The large white bloomers are probably the best bread I have ever had , often hot out of the oven . Been buying my bread from here for some 20 years. Jam doughnuts also v. good

I want to know who didn't give a five star review, give me this individual's name and address so I can personally tar and feather them. The cheesecake, priced at £2.50 a slab took me back to my childhood in Germany, so much that my girlfriend went back and polished off their stock because she could see how nostalgic an experience it had been for me. The Portuguese tart was PERFECT, elsewhere I've found it to be far too sweet (sickly, even). Service was courteous and had such a lovely local vibe to it, the man behind the counter took time to talk us through the selection... everyone that came through the doors while we were there seemed to know exactly what they wanted and approached procurement with confidence. EVERYONE seemed to be crazy about this place, would recommend.

This place has so many amazing options, I can't even choose a favourite! All their pies and baked goods are so flavourful and fresh and the service is great. You will not regret giving it a go!

Fantastic customer service. I called Friday at 4.15pm for a birthday cake to be delivered 8am Monday morning. Allen couldn't have been more helpful. Cannot recommend highly enough, so please support this friendly local business :)

Heard the vegan sausage roll was nice this fact is not true! It was not fresh tasted horrible felt sick after having two bites definitely was sitting there more than 3-4hours will not visit again..

I like this bakers, they make a tasty sandwich and have some nice snacks. My only criticism is they use intensively farmed meats. I’d happily pay twice the price for a free range ingredients.

I love the vegan rolls here. They are amazing and so filling. Also the Apple turnover is a firm favourite. Friendly, polite and helpful staff who always warm the food for you if needed. Prices are so reasonable. I like the decor; it’s from yesteryear, frozen in time.

Their sourdough bread is the best in the area. It is perfect. Just spread it with a bit of butter and salt and you are in food heaven. Does not look like much but one has to try this bread.

Use to like the food until no. Some of the items have no use by dates or any dates labeled for that matter, the saucepan they boil the eggs in never gets cleaned. The chicken in the big fridge has no date so they don't know when the last lot of chicken was open. Then it's placed in the front to serve to customers. How this is still open, I don't know. The owner smells too and has no respect for his staff. Food poson comes to mind. Ps colour chopping board needed not cardbroad!

Fantastic local bakery run by friendly, welcoming staff. The proprietor is always available to give individual advice and will take special, personal orders. The Black Forest gateau is to die for. I have ordered it twice for special birthdays and on both occasions it has been outstanding! Thanks folks. Keep up the good work! :- )

The worst bakery ever, I asked for a Madeira cake and I was given a cherry cake instead realised when I got home. The cake was hard and it was stale, I put it in the bin. I asked the lady behind the counter if it was freshly baked and she said yes it was baked that morning of which was not true. Never again please avoid this bakery is, the lady serving doesn’t know what she’s selling or doing. Waste of time and money.

My worst bakery experience, was given a smoked salmon bagel, the salmon was off colour (black and grey) and smelt off, the cheese cake tasted like bad quiche, steak bake was okay but obviously wasn't baked in store. Last of all my latte was shockingly bad. I threw everything away except for the stake bake. The only good thing about this place was a nice girl working behind the counter. Avoid this place. There are many better alternatives in the area. I thought that because it appeared to be an old traditional bakery it might be good but was a waste of time and money.

They're ok, lovely service and lovely people. They do need to know what's in their food as I asked if the chicken samosa had peas in it and none of them knew. The bacon roll and the pasties are the don. Get their apple turnover as well. It's hot competition with Dunn's. The cheese in the Spinach and Cheese Croissant is... An acquired taste. Wouldn't do it again

First time in this bakery .I have tried to buy a bacon and cheese sandwich but lady with big dark eye lashes did not serve me and called her colleague from kitchen to serve me but she looked in some sort of discomfort when I have asked her for bread options. Weird staff and not friendly.

Well what to say, me and my family visited this bakers for very the 1st time, we ordered 4 different cakes, and each and everyone of them were revolting. All were dry and tasteless, I think my partners only just finished gnawing his way thru what was supposed to be a cookie, my Bake well tart was like eating gravel...will def not be re visiting any time soon.

Ive notice that produce isnt always fresh, some sandwich fillings looked dried out like they've been out overnight. Same with baked goods. The bread and rolls are are good. Not a huge selection on sweet treats.

Really nice bread and hallah, very friendly and local. The sourdough baguettes are lovely.

I paid for 8 crusty white rolls. Still at the checkout, I looked in the bag two of them were so burnt they were literally black, split and rock solid. I said to the lady behind the counter, "two of these rolls are burnt, could you change them for me please?". She asked which ones are burnt, I said "the burnt ones", holding the bag open. She said "show me" so I picked up one of the burnt rolls and showed her. Her response was to tell me she couldn't change them now because I had touched them! To be honest it only left me 80p out of pocket so I just told her to throw them in the bin and left. If it had been a more important or expensive purchase I'd have made a stand but it was easier to laugh and leave. Absolutely dreadful service...I won't be returning. One star for the six edible rolls which were ok.

Visited it for the first time , croissant tasted good the almond croissant was dry the almond filling was definitely stale and no almond taste the cornish pasty i would of thought the serve picked out a big pie but was not money worthy . Lady serve is not very friendly spent £6 would of got my moneys worth at ALDI if im honest

The lady behind the counter was really rude, she gave me the wrong change twice, then got in a huff and muttered a insult under her breath as I left. A great shame considering the food is nice. Hopefully next time the service will be better, if not there will be no next time.

Love this bakery. Especially their bread and in particular the cholla. Their cheesecake is superb and their big cookies are to die for. The smartie one is the kids favourite. Their soup is also amazingly good. Is good value for money and the staff is absolutley lovely.

I love their challah...best in the area as far as I'm concerned. Doughy and sweet and good value for money!

Fab cakes biscuits rolls filled or not and fresh bread still warm.. Also cheaper than fancy pants bakery's but no quality is lost and by-the-way friendly guys and gals.. Winters here get the warm bread and soup ready!!

Folks, A few weeks ago I received a package for an American who visited your store not that long ago. He left his ID card and a few other things outside your store, and you mailed it back to the address listed on his ID. Unfortunately, he no longer lives at that address (I now live at that address) and I have no idea where he now lives. But I did want you to let you know that I thought it was very kind of you to go through all that trouble to try to return his belongings. The world is a better place because of people like you.

One of the only PROPER bakeries in London that bake their own stuff. They're Greek, I think? So they have spanakopita and other Greek treats. Also, must try the Viennese Fingers! Yum!

Very good organic wholemeal bread (Fri-Sun), cholla, cheesecake (European style - not too rich or sweet). Also good quiche. I'm not so keen on the croissants (a bit too bready) or the granary bread (too light) but that's a matter of taste. Very good value for money, especially for the neighbourhood, and helpful staff.
