Great place, we go after badminton.

Lovely pub that actually used to be a bakery. The original ovens and tiled wall are still part of one of the walls. Friendly service and good ale.

Its a very nice old pub but, the service was terrible. The food was warm, had to wait a very long time for the food and the staff are not that nice. Just terrible.

What a little gem of a pub. Its immaculate throughout, has some great history from being a bakery and we really enjoyed our brief visit chatting to the locals. Some fabulous Ales on tap too!

Great pub very friendly staff and the landlord Ray and Kay were very helpful and friendly, told all about the local area and were to visit , clean toilets , good beer and nice customers who were mostly locals . Will definitely be back .

No dogs allowed.. not signposted, and you can sit out in the beer garden with those who come out for a smoke.. also rubbish beer selection. I'm pretty sure every other pub in dorset is dog friendly.. so go there instead.

Can't understand why this place gets 5 stars, every time we go in there staff are rude, don't respect veterans or fellow pub traders. Better pubs in dorchester selling a better range of beers and wines and shock food which this place doesn't. Oh and you have to catch them on a whim when they choose to open. Worst pub I have ever been in.

Never been treated so badly as a veteran of the Royal Navy. Very misogynistic my wife felt very uncomfortable with the attitudes of other customers.left very quickly.

I'm not local but when I and some mates turned up to watch the rugby we were treated like locals! Staff couldn't do enough for us to get a table near the TV screen and adjacent to the bar! Fabulous little pub, wonderful atmosphere and a great selection of well kept session ales. Absolutely loved it!

Such a lovely welcome, first time I have been on and would certainly love to come back, really well kept beer, the lady with long brown hair behind the bar was so friendly and gave great service. Also one of the cleanest pubs I’ve ever been in you can really tell it’s looked after and cared for!

Delightful and very well kept traditional corner back street pub. Now a Marston pub but still managing to have a fairly wide selection of ales as the display of pump clips shows. Originally a bakers the original oven doors are still in place. Outside there is a small, tidy garden with fig tree and grapevine. There is also a covered seating area and a separate smoking area.

Nice pint of Directors, good atmosphere, good banter with bar staff. Great to see the attention lavished on "Bridge Cat", by just about everyone that passed, from the window. I'll be back soon.

Has very rude staff, i was very disappointed! Quite squashed inside. Nice outside area but has a lot of smokers. Does have a system to have social system. Allows dogs. Not any social distancing outside :( Lots of scaffolding. Not a place to take kids, right next to a road so us very noisy. Also the outside area has people walking past. My lemonade was good.

This is a superb little pub off the beaten track in Dorchester but well worth the visit. Stopped by at lunchtime and found a superb selection of Real Ales on tap. The atmosphere is lovely and old fashioned in what was previously a bakery. Although they wouldn't normally do lunchtime food the landlady was kind enough to make us some toasties. Certainly will be going back there again!

Me and my partner have started to visit this pub in the last year. It is on our road so very convenient. We have always had lovely service from a nice young man who is friendly, recommends us beer and treats us very well. We have really enjoyed coming here. However, this evening we decided to visit the pub which we really love for the evening. We sat down at the pub and in under 2 minutes of us being in there the landlady asked us if we were having drinks. As we obviously were, we said yes but we are just deciding as we wanted to try something new. While we were discussing what we would like she interrupted us and told us that we are either ordering or sitting and taking up space. Bearing in mind, there were only 2 other groups of people in the pub so it was reasonable empty. Her tone was extremely rude and disrespectful. We decided we could not stay after being spoken to in this way. After recounting the event to my mother she stressed that she has had previous bad experiences there. We are very sorry to have lost an establishment which we have been enjoying and supporting. Every one of our neighbours on Monmouth road will also be sad to be informed of how this pub treats its locals. What a loss! Its saving grace is that it has a smashing young man who is usually there, its a real shame that the service of his colleagues is not up to his standard.

We booked for a group of 11 for an evening meal The landlady was very welcoming and gave us time to choose our food requirements and when the meal was erved it was excellent pub food . and good value for money.

Dropped in on the off chance for a couple of pints in Sunday with my wife. What a wonderful pub. A welcoming landlady who made us feel at home straight away. Great service, nicely priced. And as the pub filled up it had a real home from home feel, where regulars came over and chatted to us and made us feel welcome. Truly one of the nicest pubs I have been in.

Surprise meal for elderly mother. Lovely location. Minimal wait for food even though it was very busy. Attentive friendly staff, highly recommended. We will definitely be returning for a future visit.

Never been there before but very welcoming and homely

A brilliant find. I've been driving past this place for 15 years and always promised myself I'd have a pint. Never did though. Until now. Stupid, stupid me. It was a buzzing, full and cosy pub. Beer was great and so was the wine. It had a sunken snug with chairs and a sofa and felt just like pubs used to do before the breweries ruined them all. Even the smokers area was pleasant. Well done to the licencees. I'll be back. Even though it is 3 hours from my house!

I was one of three blokes stayed a night at a Bed & Breakfast in Dorchester. We asked the proprietor to direct us to a 'well kept-real pub' with a proper landlord and and a selection of real ales. Without hesitation he sent us to The Bakers Arms. We had a great night and I am sure that anyone else who goes there will have a similar experience.

No como me dijo. Y hicieron exactamente lo que dijeron. Era de primera clase, muy abundante, y la hospitalidad era genial! !Gracias a todos. Una pena nuestra razón para visitar.Espero que nuestra próxima visita será de carácter más alegre.Gracias de nuevo.

Los panaderos de armas es uno de los pocos restantes en pubs locales adecuados Dorchester. Siempre hay una buena variedad de cervezas de calidad en el grifo marston, con una buena selección de cerveza y sidra. Los precios son muy competitivos, especialmente durante la hora feliz! Ray y Kay siempre ofrecen una cálida bienvenida y hay bastante a menudo al azar música/caridad/noches de concurso. Vale la pena probar si buscas un buen local.

Vine aquí una noche para cenar con mi pareja después de oír algunas cosas y tengo que decir que es una de las mejores pubs en los que he estado. La gente era precioso y la comida era fantástica! Los terratenientes eran fantásticos y muy acogedor y, sin duda, merecen tener el pub del premio año! Sin duda volveremos:).

Closed at lunchtime, no notice, then following day kitchen closed. Landlord rude and sarcastic to my 87 year old mother. I works advise avoid at all costs.

Absolutely spotless and named Marstons pub of the year, a great pint kept here and food excellent at very reasonable prices. A real locals pub and hard to leave due to excellent atmosphere. Also very warm welcome for passers by whom I'm told do not want to leave either!!! Fabulous!!!

A traditional local pub serving Marstons beer and a range of guest ales. A selection of pub food is served at luchtimes and in the evenings. Ray and Kay always offer a warm welcome to one of the few remaining traditional pubs in Dorchester. 'Happy hour' is on Tuesday to Friday from 5.00pm to 7.00pm!
