Came in for brunch today. It would be nice to have another bread other than sourdough on the menu. We did ask for an alternative but was informed it was not available. We checked in the farm shop and there was plenty of bread there. It was a shame because when you have a kipper it’s nice to have bread and butter.

Came for the farm shop, stayed for the incredible bacon sandwich and sausage role. We were greeted very warmly by the chef and lady at the checkout. There was also an interesting choice of music - very nostalgic early 2000s classics.

The bread is delicious. Toasties were huge and very tasty. Visit was on a Saturday afternoon, most of the customers I saw were older, I was with my daughter in law and two of my teenage granddaughters, so a varied age group. The thing that spoiled it for all of us was the loud obscure rock music from the four speakers in the upstairs dining room. I can't hear well if there's a lot of background noise, so went downstairs to ask them to turn the volume down. I'm not sure if they did, it didn't seem any better. As it was irritating and hard to make conversation we finished our food and left. It didn't seem the appropriate music for a farm shop café on a Saturday afternoon. Very odd choice.

Stopped here to eat on our was to RSPB Minsemere but didn't stay, sign outside said no cash, only card payment, so ate elsewhere and spent £25 on food and drink and paid, in cash.

This is the first bacon sandwich i've had in 47 years on this earth that i can truly describe as being beautiful. The bread was so pleasing on the eye, dappled with seeds and grain. When I opened the sandwich, I thought twice about applying brown sauce because the bacon was so artfully laid and so beautifully cooked I felt a little like a Just Stop Oil protestor spraying orange paint over a Michelangelo . But I applied it nonetheless. Its a bacon sandwich that will live long in the memory. And the coffee wasn't bad either.

We popped in for brunch on Sunday. Waited nearly 15 minutes for our tea and coffee, which, considering there did not seem to be anyone in front of us, seemed excessive. But the coffee was delicious, although not terribly hot. Our food arrived shortly after. Eggs benedict, on smoked salmon with hollandaise. The sourdough bread was great, as was the salmon, and the poached eggs were good. The spinach was cold and watery which made the bread soggy. The hollandaise was runny. Our greeting by the staff member on our arrival was that of someone who was bored, although the other staff seemed a little more interested. We would NOT recommend this place and will not return.

Visited today, after seeing lovely pics on facebook site. Very little choice in the bakery line, the pot lunch only one left in the freezer/fridge, was curry anyway, so no thanks so i opted for bacon sandwich on sourdough. No trimmings. Bread very hard, bacon was awful, like it had been reheated/recooked from earlier or day before. Friend had allotment brekkie, pricey at nearly 12 pound, beans cold, mush and tom fine, although tom had been well overcooked or reheated again. Sourdough hard and rest not very good. Coffee and tea fine. Very slow service too, had finished coffee b4 i got my sarnie. Didnt bother with cake as nothing special to choose from. Left starving after my lunch as didnt eat most. Wont be going back

we visit here regularly and all ways had excellent food and drinks, food is very nice and we always take cake home or snacks. awesome breakfast and good quality food. The day people were moaning of the cafe being cold we was in there, the staff done every thing they could by getting the heaters working. it was a cold day outside and cafe hadn't been open long. there was even a man sitting there with a tea shirt on. so say no more...... thanks

We popped in to The Bakehouse for a quick coffee after visiting the excellent farm shop next door & whilst the coffee & cake were acceptable the reason for the 1 star rating is the establishment's policy of card only payments. We are already on a downward spiral towards a cashless society & I refuse to support any business that helps facilitate it.

I took my elderly aunt to this cafe on Sunday, we sat upstairs and were surprised how cold it was, luckily we were wearing coats.I overheard a chap opposite us complaining about the cold, he spoke to the staff who attempted to adjust the heating temperature to no avail. After about 45 minutes we left and I thanked the guy for speaking to the staff to address the issue. We received no apology and found the owner to be surly and abrupt.

I rarely write reviews however having read the owners reply to some posts on here i felt I had to comment, I also found the premises really cold and the food was not good value , as for the owners reply to some Comments on here he shows an arrogance that beggars belief, to refer a customer to to a certain Pub chain (Mr Canham) i found astounding, maybe the owner should put more effort into getting his house In Order rather than disrespecting his customers. His staff were admirable in trying their best to resolve the issues, but the owners comments on here do nothing to inspire confidence in this business

Visited this cafe today and sat upstairs. This area was very cold and the customers already seated were wrapped up in coats. I went downstairs and mentioned this to the staff. The owner stated they had some issues with the heating system. He did come upstairs and try and adjust air conditioning but this just circulated already cold air. I went to car and retrieved my thick coat and mentioned temperature again. The owner/manager was as frosty to me as the temperature. No word of an apology to us or the other customers. The cooked breakfast was average but overpriced I felt. We were regular customers prior to the new management but will not be returning.

I visited the Bakehouse today as I had heard good things about it. The menu and range of cakes was tempting and appeared to offer value for money. The interior was clean and welcoming and I received a hello from the chef and made my way upstairs with a menu. It wasn’t busy with only three tables in use so I sat down and waited …….. and waited…….. and waited. The food service staff came and went after serving two tables and clearing another. At no time did they ask if I was OK, did I need anything, could they take an order and in fact didn’t look at me at all! In the end I gave up and went downstairs. I spoke to the chef about my dissatisfaction whereby he told me I should have come down and ordered. The service staff were untrained and obviously ignorant of the importance of customer contact and dialogue. Their communication skills were ZERO! They need to buck up or lose out!

Fantastic find! This place is just gorgeous, it's got a really small but perfect snack menu, with sausage rolls, scotch eggs, delicious sandwiches, sourdough bread, and amazing breakfasts! The tea and coffee are good value, and as for the cakes.....they too are awesome. We'll recommend this as a place to call in. And then there is the farm shop! And that's just brilliant.

Just found out that the Rising Sun in Aldeburgh has closed down. What a terrible shame. The best chinese takeaway around. My husband isn't keen on chinese but has always enjoyed their food. It's ashame that they didn't have the space to convert to a restaurant as they would have made a killing. It's been reported that it's for financial and personal reasons. I know we are still in the grip of a cost of living crisis but we would have been prepared to pay higher cost for their great food. Goodbye Rising Sun you will be sorely missed

Delicious Sunday lunch, piping hot, perfect Yorkshire puddings and lovely fresh veg. Attentive, polite young staff. Best thing of all no loud intrusive “background” music that makes it impossible to have a conversation with your fellow diners. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
