Very oldie worldly pub warm with fire going .Are meal came it was basic looking no fancy sides we both enjoyed are food with real chips and bread and butter. We enjoyed chatting to the bar man and a few people near the bar the beer was tasty .Upstairs they open for Sunday lunch it's looks like a cafe comfortable seating food was very tasty .

I find it nice to see what I'm eating but I had to do with taste and smell as the plate was awash with a grey liquid - oh for a gravy boat. It turned out that there was plenty of vegetables and lots of meat all served piping hot. the waitress was very friendly but the venue had its challenges. Some have said it needed TLC but I think it it doubles as a meeting room or children's kindergarten in the day. We gained access through the bar but there was a very steep set of stairs up to the dining room on the first floor. We exited using the door on to the road and down three very steep steps with no handrail. So if you are not fleet of foot be aware. It's a cash only business.

We live locally and pop in the pub quite regular.Pub is a traditonal local pub although decor could do with some TLC. Sunday lunch is very good served from 12 till 3 which is all home cooked and no frozen microwave fare and great value Food is also served in daytime midweek from 10 till 3 with all day breakfasts and fish and chips ect Pub is also open in evening A good option if in local area as not many good places locally.

Whilst recently visiting relatives in the area we called into The Baileys Arms for a drink. At first I thought they had made a mistake as four drinks came to less than 8 pounds. The equivalent in the South East of England would have been double that ! The bar area is typical of many pubs in the region. Nothing fancy, a bit on the basic side, but the staff are very friendly. My relative’s friends raved about the food here. In particular the Sunday roast for 4.50 including all the trimmings is apparently so popular reservations are recommended to be made by the previous Thursday. The morning breakfasts were also well spoken of, with a couple of comments that they couldn’t eat it all. Next time we return we definitely will be giving the food a try.
