Warm welcoming pub. Food is fantastic, the Sunday lunch is my favourite. Great price and plenty on your plate, big beer garden for kids to play. We've had party's here including My nans wake and they couldn't have made it anymore perfect if they tried.

Best Sunday lunch away from home I have ever had. A plate full of succulent meat, a vast selection of fresh vegetables homemade Yorkshire Wow complements to the chef a fabulous home cooked meal worth a visit !!!!

Love this pub as it has a big play area outside. Fab for the summer. Fab for kids. Has a alot of benches outside for families. Food looked and smelt amazing. But we just went for beer.

Really like it here and the value of the pub being about community over profit. Only negative advertised until 4pm but then if you go about 3pm onwards they have run out of things on the menu.

If you want a proper Sunday dinner this is the best in town lovely hot food and plenty of give them a call and see for your selves 😉

Yesterday we had our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration here for 30 people. We chose the 2 course Roast dinner for our guests. The meal was perfect and plentiful. The service was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The dining room is lovely with great decor and ambience. Sheila and her staff ensured that everything went well. We had an absolutely wonderful celebration. I highly recommend The Badger.

A wonderful experience at the Badger 😊 We came as part of a pre booked function and had a wonderful time. The staff are friendly and diligently, the atmosphere well balanced with tasteful music at the right volume and the food was fantastic. As the awkward Vegans of the group we are used to being happy with what we get, however the Chef at the Badger cooked us a beautiful vegetable tart and our own vegan apple crumble. Every element was cooked to perfection with generous portions and timely service, the non vegans raves about beef, I can happily recommend The Badger 😊

Had a Sunday lunch today early on. Food was not up to the usual very high standard. Meat tough and sherry trifle had no taste of sherry. I hope this was a temporary blip.

Booked the Badger for a Sunday lunch with family after a long search for something near my cousin. After one that had chosen to do a refurb over the bank holiday weekend, a picture of the food at the Badger came up. Booked for 4 out of desperation, though reviews looked good. Well, what a brilliant decision it turned out to be. From the outside it's an estate pub, but well kept, inside it's been refurbished and the dinning room was bright and airy with plenty of privacy around the extremely comfortable chairs. The tables had plenty of space for plates, glasses and bits, a lazy Susan helping with condiments and bottles. The menu was simple and clear, but choosing was anything but as we looked at the plates of fellow diners. Food was cooked to perfection. Beef, thin, moist and soft. Vegetables, roast spuds, cabbage, broccoli, swede, carrots and cauliflower. Two large yorkies and some wonderful spiced stuffing. The pork looked good too. My son said the crackling was perfect, and the apple sauce smooth. Very generous portions, but not greedy size. Puddings were homemade and mmmmmmmmmm! We retired to the garden, not clear on the facebook page, with climbing frames and other bits to occupy young children. Well maintained and good benches. Overall an excellent Sunday lunch at a very good public house. Don't go by the Facebook images, it's been fully refurbished and is a very pleasant place to enjoy really good food, with excellent service from friendly, helpful staff. One final thing, incredible value for money. Large meal under £10. Budget price at Mid to upper range location.

Always enjoy visiting The Badger. We hold our family celebrations there. Never disappointed.

Called to meet up with an old friend today to watch the Play Off final. Neither one of us have been here before but we were made very welcome by staff and the regulars. Very friendly, will definitely visit again.

Nice building, but barman surly, comes when he feels like it. Too busy watching the football.

Booked a table half an hour before we arrived at Lunchtime. There was a Thursday Menu – a main meal, dessert and a choice of tea or coffee for £10. We both had Tuna Croquettes with chips and salad. They were delicious and both our plates were very clean with no thought of using a doggy bag for our pouch. The large size of the dessert of Apple Crumble with custard or ice cream would put many Pub lunches to shame. A lively conversational clientele helped the Pubs ambience. Good friendly service and a decent Merlot made it a pleasurable experience. I had last been in The Badger over 60 years ago, the Landlord took about 10 minutes to pour and serve a wonderful pint of Guinness, and I have fond memories of our late night drinks. We will certainly visit again.

Always been a good pub but it's very good now, for functions you cannot fault it was my granddaughter's christening event we had in the marquee, food was supplied by the Pub could not fault it also lovely beer garden and really nice play area's for the kids very clean and well kept public house gardens and surrounding premises.

Not been i here for a while and was pleasantly surprised, its been recently redecorated to a high standard,beer excellent and reasonably priced, staff werevery pleasant and friendly.

Visited on 2 occasions recently with Family and had their Sunday lunch, had seen them advertising on a neighbourhood app and thought would give it a go, on both occasions we had a really good experience, really friendly staff and good home cooking with generous portions, by mistake it’s the first place my daughter has had gravy and she even asked for it the second time we went, still won’t have it at home, we will definitely be returning once this second lockdown is over and will try on a week night as they appear to have some good offers on

I was in the area for a short break. The Badger was local, gave it a try and i am so glad that i did. Ended up eating there Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and Sunday Lunch. Was made welcome from the first time i walked through the door, all the staff are very friendly nothing is too much trouble. The food is freshly cooked, tasty, with generous portion sizes. Booked our engagement party here as there is a marquee, nice function rooms recently refurbished.Also had Sunday lunch which was a beautiful meal.BUT THEN..... we booked for 30 people initially then decided to take it down to 20 people.We were told by a member of staff the buffet was from £6.95 a head. We were quoted £9.95 as we had added a few extras such as chicken drumsticks and desserts which I understand but it was lack of communication all the way, no phone calls or information/updates we had to do the chasing which in my eyes is totally unacceptable.We wanted music in the marquee and was told that would be sorted...it gets worse!The day before the booking I received a lengthy text from the co owner/cook stating they had decided they couldn’t accommodate us as we had stated that there was going to be over 30 people and due to covid restrictions that is why I received the text stating the cancellation... a member of staff informed me that it said 20 people in the diary and yet on the day a lady co owner said it still said 30... so which is it?My partner rang and spoke to the cook who I believe to be a co owner and remained very calm stating it was for 20 people to be told the other co owners would have to be consulted before agreeing for it to go ahead, remember this is the day before!!! After my partner chasing it up again we were told yes it was going ahead ... where did all that inconvenience causing stress and upset arise from?? Totally unnecessary and incorrect information.Then when we arrived , the bar was like Marie Celeste and a few times throughout the day I understand there are times the bar may be unattended say for glass collecting but when there is a function on surely this should be thought about on staffing levels or bar management.We were disgusted to find nothing had been done in preparation for the party, the marquee was dirty, no sanitizer in view when it was opened up, slug trails on the floor, tables looked dirty no effort had been made whatsoever Nothing put in place as regards the music, the lady co owner was very apologetic and tried her best to put things right..she brought out a small Bluetooth speaker, we said no we were told there was an amp but it wasn’t Bluetooth capability then they couldn’t find the leads, not to mention my partner had to carry the heavy amp from the pub into the marquee and set it up himself, on our day and in his best clothing .. why wasn’t all this put in place earlier in the day?? We were told we could have the buffet in the dining area as an exclusive area which was a nice idea but not when it’s used as a through fair to the bar and toilets by all. When the main entrance was the designated entrance due to covid 19 restrictions..So... as you can see the whole thing was a shambles from start to finish leaving us very upset,disgusted and disappointed on what should have been our special day ruined.The food was apparently very nice ( I didn’t even look as I’d lost all faith by now) but it was all too late to be salvaged the damage was done .

Great Halloween event for the kids. Shame there were no outdoor lights for the kids when they were playing outside as it was dark as hell. So dark I lost a kid playing hide and seek. 😂😂

2 good beers on children's play area and a bouncy castle

Went here with friends and all their kids. The park is great for them which keeps them amused leaving you to have a bit of me time. They do great snacks for all ,very good prices

Awful, unfriendly and toilets are absolutely disgusting. Had take my 2 year old daughter to gents cubicle, I had to clean it down for her to use it ,toilet seat broken off and on floor, hand dryer full of mould.

Great locals place hidden gem for proper home cooked foods great beer garden. What more do you want ... oh and the beer is spot on!
