Visited on 2 occasions recently with Family and had their Sunday lunch, had seen them advertising on a neighbourhood app and thought would give it a go, on both occasions we had a really good experience, really friendly staff and good home cooking with generous portions, by mistake it’s the first place my daughter has had gravy and she even asked for it the second time we went, still won’t have it at home, we will definitely be returning once this second lockdown is over and will try on a week night as they appear to have some good offers on

Booked our engagement party here as there is a marquee, nice function rooms recently refurbished. Also had Sunday lunch which was a beautiful meal.BUT THEN..... we booked for 30 people initially then decided to take it down to 20 people. We were told by a member of staff the buffet was from £6.95 a head. We were quoted £9.95 as we had added a few extras such as chicken drumsticks and desserts which I understand but it was lack of communication all the way, no phone calls or information/updates we had to do the chasing which in my eyes is totally unacceptable. We wanted music in the marquee and was told that would be sorted...it gets worse! The day before the booking I received a lengthy text from the co owner/cook stating they had decided they couldn’t accommodate us as we had stated that there was going to be over 30 people and due to covid restrictions that is why I received the text stating the cancellation... a member of staff informed me that it said 20 people in the diary and yet on the day a lady co owner said it still said 30... so which is it?My partner rang and spoke to the cook who I believe to be a co owner and remained very calm stating it was for 20 people to be told the other co owners would have to be consulted before agreeing for it to go ahead, remember this is the day before!!! After my partner chasing it up again we were told yes it was going ahead ... where did all that inconvenience causing stress and upset arise from?? Totally unnecessary and incorrect information. Then when we arrived , the bar was like Marie Celeste and a few times throughout the day I understand there are times the bar may be unattended say for glass collecting but when there is a function on surely this should be thought about on staffing levels or bar management. We were disgusted to find nothing had been done in preparation for the party, the marquee was dirty, no sanitizer in view when it was opened up, slug trails on the floor, tables looked dirty no effort had been made whatsoever Nothing put in place as regards the music, the lady co owner was very apologetic and tried her best to put things right..she brought out a small Bluetooth speaker, we said no we were told there was an amp but it wasn’t Bluetooth capability then they couldn’t find the leads, not to mention my partner had to carry the heavy amp from the pub into the marquee and set it up himself, on our day and in his best clothing .. why wasn’t all this put in place earlier in the day?? We were told we could have the buffet in the dining area as an exclusive area which was a nice idea but not when it’s used as a through fair to the bar and toilets by all. When the main entrance was the designated entrance due to covid 19 restrictions..So... as you can see the whole thing was a shambles from start to finish leaving us very upset, disgusted and disappointed on what should have been our special day ruined. The food was apparently very nice ( I didn’t even look as I’d lost all faith by now) but it was all too late to be salvaged the damage was done .

Decided to go up to the Badger Pub for a spot of Sunday lunch, booked in at 2pm however we got chatting to friends in the bar so ended up dining later which was so good of them to accommodate, nothing is ever to much trouble, when seated our starters were lovely and mains perfectly done, no room for pudding but it was packed up for us to take home, probably the best £12.50 three course meal I’ve ever had real quality food and service.

Decided to try out the badger for lunch. And WOW was not disappointed. Friday special of fish and chips, mushy peas, salad on side, bread and butter, cup of tea and a pudding to boot. The fish was that large it only just went on the plate. Homemade chips. All delicious. Stumped had to take pudding home. Compliments to chef - Tracey Very welcoming - Keith and a lovely atmosphere.

The racket this hell hole of a pub blasts out every weekend is a disgrace. This is a residential area not a music festival. No consideration at all the residents of the area who prefer to not listen to your noise. The ONLY thing they care about is money in the till. Hopefully it'll be turned into a mini mart before much longer.

Visited the Badger pub today for a 3 course Sunday lunch, I had the garlic King prawns starter which was quality and my partner had the curry parsnip soup again very tasty, for mains we had roast topside of beef with fresh vegetables and proper home made Yorkshire puddings with rich gravy, there were three thick slices of tender beef and plenty of fresh veg, we were both too full for the desert so they kindly even packed it up for us to take home the manager Tracey and all the staff are friendly the level of service is exemplary, well worth a visit you will not be disappointed, complements to the chef.

We enjoyed our Christmas day dinners although we all felt the price was a little on the expensive side, but it was xmas day after all I suppose. We had several different starters between us and everyone was impressed with them. I felt the sprouts were a bit hard on the dinner but I know a lot of people prefer them that way so I cant complain really and again we had both the beef and turkey dinners which apart from said sprouts were fine and generous in portion as were the xmas pudding, Baileys cheesecake and to be honest I cant remember what the others had but there were other choices. The waiting staff seemed to consist of two ladies who did an admirable job and nothing was too much trouble for them so all in all a pleasant experience though as I said I think at £50 per head it was a little overpriced but nevertheless we all enjoyed it

We had previously visited the food took an hour but was great so we thought we would try it again. We arrived at 3:30 and asked if they were still serving food, we were told they were. By 3:50 we were ready to order after a few drinks. To be told that they stopped serving at 4....... it wasn't 4 yet. Turned down an order of 6 people including starters. Obviously don't want the business. Won't be coming back.

The Badger is a classic local Pub - No Aires and Graces, just Honest, Good Value Pub grub. We visited tonight for 'Pie Night' - A choice of Homemade Pie - We opted for the Meat and Potato - peas, and a Pint for £6.95. The Pie may not be the 'prettiest' of plates - but it is genuinely 'Homemade' and fabulous. None of your Freezer to Microwave stuff here, just huge chunks of the most tender beef you can get in a deliciously buttery pastry case. Highly recommended.

We went on a summer's night with our son, daughter in law and granddaughter. The play area for children at the back is very good. We ordered food to eat outside but then it started raining and found that, without having to ask, a table had been set up for us inside. Food is average pub food but the play area and service is very good indeed.

We've been to the Badger a few times and the food and service were very good. Today was a totally different story. The food was warm at best, the chicken inedible, the pie totally overcooked and the service was terrible. Most requests were met with a sigh or grunt from the staff.

We have been to the Badger several times on a Sunday. The meals are all "home cooked" and the portions more than ample. In fact, most of us went for the "small" meal as in the past we had difficulty finishing the normal sized dinner. They are also served HOT which is something a lot of pubs/restaurants find difficult to achieve.
