Sorbo Lounge in Chesterfield

We are currently sat in The Sorbo Lounge after eating a delicious breakfast and warching the world go by. It struck me how amazing the staff are with every single customer young and old alike. It really brought a lump to my throat to watch the interaction between Stacey and an elderly couple on the table next to us, kindness, consideration and time given to them was priceless. Sorbo lounge you are more than just a place to buy food and drink you are warm hug in a hard world. You are an inpiration to others.

Wonderful place for a meet up, with very welcoming and exceedingly friendly staff. Always a pleasure to visit.

We have finally found a place to eat as a family! Cause is children friendly, the kids loved the fact that they can play until the food is ready. It was the first time that we actually enjoyed that much our day out without getting stressed due to the children friendly environment. Definitely where we will be eating when we go out for dinner . Staff was really nice, approachable and kind and nothing was too much for them. Very good experience!

Went in when it was 1940s day in Chesterfield. The atmosphere in there felt relaxing, and the drink I had was amazing, along with the service.

The price of the drinks is unacceptable, we paid over £25 for 2 glasses of wine and a pint of cider. We will never go back very disappointing.

A beautiful meal. I picked from the tapas menu and it was delightful. It was the 1940’s day in chesterfield so it was incredibly busy and yet the staff were happy, friendly and welcoming. The food came very quickly and was delicious.

An incredible restaurant for families. Wonderfully warm and patient staff, a dedicated play area for children PACKED with toys, plentiful books for adults and children, plus a wide range of pleasant food. Strongly recommend!

I pop in for a pint when visiting my home town. Love the decore. Art Deco with strange paintings. Just what Tahn was needing....

Yesterday I was at this restaurant for lunch and ordered band band chicken noodles. Previously this dish was perfectly cooked. But yesterday I must say I was very disappointed, chicken pieces were reduced from a slice of chicken breast to two pieces of chicken strips. It seems like the chef put everything in a Pan add water and sause, it was not STIR FRIED NOODLES. Plus I found my dish was full of veg, far too much vegs added. The broccoli was raw. V disappointed for 14 pounds, I expect better quality.

We love Sorbo! The staff are so friendly, efficient and helpful and the food is just lovely and always served with a smile! Everyone goes above and beyond and Sorbo offers so much more than food and drink, there is always a lovely atmosphere too! :)

Excellent place to eat in Chesterfield town centre. Child friendly and dietary needs catered for.

Great food, great service, lovely staff, fantastic atmosphere. Separate gluten free menu, staff seem clued up on coeliac disease. Family friendly, changing facilities available. One step at main entrance, staff helped me lift my pram up to get in, but there is a disabled access door too, just have to press the button outside and a staff member will come to meet you. Overall, cant fault it. I've been to other restaurants in the chain and they have all been fab!

We have breaks in Chesterfield sometimes and we found this place. Realised also one near where we live so I'll certainly try that too! Meals were good every time. We've been here a few times on each break so can recommend the range and quality on the menu, the friendliness of the staff, animal and child friendly with play corners and lots of toys. The clientele in here seems good too so nothing to complain about as they even got us in on Saturday when very busy and the meals were good! Thanks!

Steak frite was not the best.. the meat was too hard to chew.. but the dessert brownie was good..

Talk about girl power! When I visited on Saturday, an all girl team smashed a fully packed bar-resturaunt of people with perfect service. I barely waited after ordering drinks via the QR code including a fancy Milkshake for my autistic son. Finally topped off with a charity glass on the bar that let's kids take a free cuddly toy with a small donation!! What a place!!! 1000% must visit ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Great atmosphere, great service, great food.

I’ve been visiting here for the last few years. Service is always 10/10. They are so accommodating. I’ve got 3 little ones and they always make us feel so welcome we are now regulars. Courtney and the team make the place feel so friendly! Toilets are really accessible and clean. Food has massively improved as of late. Love a buttermilk chicken! Highly recommend

We came to the sorbo lounge for the children’s “paint & shake” it was a lovely atmosphere, great event, very relaxed, chilled, non judgmental, food and drinks were great and the service was perfect - we couldn’t have asked for a better experience and perfect staff members! Thank you ❤️ xxx

Gorgeous place with beatiful decor, on entering the premises i felt so warm & cosey and made me smile of how friendly everyone was. Very dissatisfied with a young girl with ginger hair in buns, as she was rude snappy and very sharp with her bad attitude & customer skills. Didn't stay to eat as was made to feel uncomfortable.

I left my brand new, very expensive (for me!) headphones here and didn't realise until the next day. I called and they had them safely stowed for me and I was re-united. Thank you Sorbo for saving my life! The banana biscoff milkshake was excellent too. And the are one of the few places around that serve kombucha. 1st rate!

Love sorbo, it's my safe space in town! I visit very regularly for food and have bought family here but on occasion when I've been by myself and my baby has needed feeding I have popped in sat in an armchair fed her, changed her and had a drink of water without spending a penny or feeling awkward at all 💕 the toilets always have bits you might have forgotten which is a super nice touch. Craft table and teddy and books available for children to take home if they wish and the food is lush! Please never change sorbo 🥰

WOW 🤩 Relaxing atmosphere, smiling staff , child friendly, plenty of seating, staff are attentive making sure tables are kept cleaned ready for the next customer. Love the retro decor and staff individuality 👌 Food is delicious and served within a reasonable time frame. Disabled access. Well stocked bar. Reasonable prices. Children seem to have a fun time here. Toy corner .Arts and crafts for children so no worries if you're a parent/grandparents with young children. Extensive menu also suitable for gluten free vegan and vegetarians. You won't be disappointed. Give it a try and you'll be hooked 😅🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

We love using Sorbo lounge for a family meal out. Great food which seems to be of a better quality and staff are always friendly. Depending how busy it is, you can wait to speak with the staff when you go in. I find it annoying that you have to wait for staff to ask about allergies. Most people who have allergies, vegan etc love to tell everyone about it.

Always always have a good time here. The food is always amazing and the staff are lovely.

Came out with my husband for a birthday treat after the Christmas period , meal was terrible order the butter chicken meal Chicken had been cooked and reheated uneatable,coleslaw was like all the core of vegetables uneatable , the fries were eatable

I ordered a mac and cheese and after the first bite it tasted off so I asked a staff member to take it back an didn't receive a refund or replacement

I often pop in for a cuppa or bite to eat when in town alone, but this review is primarily to say THANK YOU for hosting our Chesterfield ADHD group a couple of times each month. We’ve been coming to you for almost two years now! I chose the venue for the general eclectic, chilled vibe and the wide variety of foods and drinks to suit most needs. We recently visited this incredible family-friendly restaurant, and I can confidently say it exceeded our expectations. The warm and welcoming atmosphere made it a joy to dine here. What really stood out to us was how accommodating the staff were—approachable, patient, and genuinely kind. The restaurant has gone above and beyond to make families feel at home, with a fantastic arts and crafts table for the kids and a dedicated play area packed with toys and books. It kept our girls entertained while we enjoyed our meal. The menu was another highlight. It offered something for everyone, including gluten-free options, and everything we ordered was delicious.

Great place to get brunch, quiet busy throughout the day but the servers are always polite and quick to get food out. Dog friendly and a lovely play area for any children, it keeps noise to a low overall great!

Met my friend for lunch who had already booked a table for us in advance. Not been before. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. Good choice of food and drinks on the menu, we both had a flatbread with a glass of wine. The staff were attentive and friendly. The only reason for not giving 4 stars is that we thought the wine was ridiculously overpriced and there were small children who kept coming up behind us to choose a soft toy to play with (a selection is kept at the back of the restaurant).

Warm haven. With nice vibes . Children’s play and craft area. The food was well presented and tasty . We ordered on line and service was very prompt . Games to borrow as well The icing on the cake were the staff who were so friendly and helpful We liked it so much we went twice on our visit to Chesterfield . Congratulations guys

Food was awful. Price for set meal was far too much for what we got. Dishes tasteless or over powered with garlic. Group spent money here and no one was amazed by the food. Very disappointed 😞

I recently visited Sorbo Lounge and had an amazing experience! The large burger I ordered was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked with great flavors. I also tried the dessert, which was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. The food quality was top-notch, and everything was well presented. The service was exceptional, friendly, attentive, and quick. The staff really made the experience enjoyable. As for the atmosphere, it was beautiful and cozy, making the restaurant feel unique and inviting. I also thought it was great value for money, considering the quality of the food and service. I highly recommend Sorbo Lounge if you're looking for a wonderful meal in a charming setting!

How lucky to find this gem of a bar cafe bang in the centre of Chesterfield. Great food and drinks at very very reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The have board games a kids corner and pets are welcome too

I love this place. Great varied menu plus it caters really well for dietary requirements (has a whole gluten free menu and vegan menu). Really tasty food and lovely vibes that can equally suit a casual meal or a special occasion.

It is a nice place to eat for the whole family. It's a bit on the expensive side but a good choice of food, including vegan and gluten-free options. Staff are very approachable (including the chefs), and the music and decor adds to the warm atmosphere.

Been 4 times now and each time staff made me feel welcome and are always very polite. The food has been great but their coffee is amazing. I love the teddy per child idea as well.

Enjoyable afternoon. Great place to come if you have little ones. I’ve been a few times before and food was much better but today must’ve just been an off day in the kitchen. Love the relaxed vibe and the toys and books are conducive to that!

The Wobbly Wanderers were in Chesterfield and Wobbly two wanted to have something to eat. As we were passing we went in. As Wobbly One had already eaten he opted for a Pint of Birra Moritti and Wobbly two opted for hot chocolate. Wobbly two decided on a Tuna Panini Melt. The food was delivered quickly and seemed well presented. Wobbly two said that it was very nice.....a compliment indeed. The premises used to be Chesterfield Post Office.. but has now been recycled into an eating house.

My most favourite place to go for food!! Hands down every time, such a friendly place, even have a crafting table for the children and play area for the younger children and board games too. Food and drinks are divine! We came here for my daughters birthday and definitely would come again thank you for such a pleasant service. X

Love it here, great food, great price and great service. Tapas dishes are really lovely and at £4.75 for one or 3 for £13 you can't go wrong. Quite a good selection of food. Had breakfast here as well as lunch and dinner and all fab.

Like most of the lounges, Sorbo has a good selection of drinks, cocktails and food. This one in the centre of Chesterfield was excellent. Friendly people and great service.

My favourite restaurant in Chesterfield. Great veggie and vegan choices. The food is always delicious, fresh and well presented. Quirky decor and good atmosphere. Recommend the Moroccan aubergine flatbread!

Visited for the first time last night and was not disappointed! As soon as we walked in we we're greeted by a very warm smile from a very welcoming member of staff and led to our table with a copy of the (even more extensive than google suggested) vegan menu. The music was spot on and the artwork absolutely covering the place was stunning! The girl who served us even had some beautiful artwork on herself! We were well looked after and the friendly, happy staff all seemed very genuinely committed to making our visit as pleasant as possible. As for the food, the general selection was great and the massive vegan menu was well varied and extensive compared to most other places. Above that, it was all well seasoned, well cooked, well presented, and - most importantly - tasted great! (I had the Vegan Buddha Bowl) Overall, this was a 10/10 dining experience for me and I will be returning regularly and spreading the word to my friends. Well done everyone, and thanks!

I went with my 4 kids and their granddad. We all had food and some drinks. The staff were all fantastic with the kids. It was super hot day to, we asked if we could move tables once we had ordered to a window seat. Not a problem at all. The food was exceptional, all of us finished our plates. Definitely recommend this place to anyone sorry for the late review. I genuinely cannot give the staff and food enough praise. Keep up the exceptional work.

I come here with my family quite often. It is always busy therefore they are doing something right which is good to see. The service from the girls is great. You get acknowledged straight away and taken to your table. We have never been turned away even when busy. They always try to accommodate you. The food and drinks menu is great and has lots of options. You have to go upto the till to order which is fine. Drinks come quick. Food comes in good time even when busy. Never had any complaints about the drinks or food. They always have crafts and colouring for the kids which is great. Sometimes extra in the school holidays like face painting etc. The place is quite quirky and fun. The only thing I would have to say and I say it every time I visit. The staff need to wear uniform. It looks very untidy and unhygienic and not professional. We don’t want to see belly buttons, tattoos and piercings in places we don’t need to see. One of the staff had a 4 letter word beginning with F on her nails. Not really appropriate when serving a family with kids. Need to look over hygiene with the staff also as the lady who greeted me had her finger in her ear itching it and another was playing with her earring. This isn’t to put them down as they are great but maybe management needs to just be ontop of things like that as they are serving food. The bar has a lot of clutter everywhere which makes it look really messy and not clean. I know it’s part of the look with the decor but too much makes it look sometimes messy looking It doesn’t stop me from coming as the food and service is great just let’s improve little things to get you your 5*

Best breakfast in Chesterfield and the beans come in a separate bowl. Bacon and avocado salad is a great lunch choice. It's aA favourite spot for us. The coffee is great, love a flat white plus good selection of beers on tap, I could stay all day.

Honestly expected more for the money. Called in today on bank holiday for lunch. Ordered the Philly steak sandwich and chips. For the price it was small, no side salad and looked a bit sad. We were sat near the servery and it was sat waiting for ages whilst the rest of the food was getting made. The chips were just about warm. Husband had a club sandwiche which looked much better. Daughter had a kids meal of grilled chicken and rice which she enjoyed and was quite a good portion. Overall, mixed review.

10.30am Sunday morning, fairly busy. Lounge breakfast x 2 - food was luke warm, egg not cook well. Disappointing, this is the second visit food was not hot. Used be to our Sunday morning go to place, but will be looking else where, sadly.

Delicious food, and friendly warm service!

Called in today with relative for a pint and a coffee. Had been raining earlier but stopped so outdoor seating wet but as busy chose to sit outside. I was happy to wipe chairs myself with paper towel but the young lady who had served us was more than happy to help do this and very apologetic. Now to some this me seem like it's her job however I was most impressed by her customer focused attitude and it has made me want to return for a meal soon.

Lovely place. Great service. Great food. Love the book swap area and it's so family friendly. It genuinely is lovely. Staff are fabulous. So easy to order & pay via phone. Would thoroughly recommend. I marked It down by 1 star purely because it got a little loud for me with the children's musical toys (the children were doing what children do, smashing the heck out of them) so probably not the greatest for people who may have heightened senses and maybe people who prefer not to be around children may want to check their is seating AWAY from the children's corner. Worth a visit.

This place is excellent for young families. Loads of stuff for the kids to do - toys, colouring, books, etc. - and the staff were really friendly too. The food is not fancy by any means, but very tasty. The kids meal option is great value.

Called in for some lunch while out shopping and what a fantastic place to eat , the staff were so friendly and polite, the menu had my mouth watering and I'll definitely be back to try the tapas and cocktails . Totally child friendly which is great for planning where to eat when taking the grandkids. The toilets were so clean and it was nice to see the unit with bits and bobs on for unexpected events. We didn't find it expensive for our food and drinks and will return next time we are in chesterfield .

Me & my wife go for breakfast every Saturday, if we can, and it is always very good. A nice place to pop in for just a coffee.

The food, service and friendly staff are exeptional and coupled with being pet friendly I cannot recommend them enough

Went for brunch, ordered 2 breakfasts and drinks totalling £30. We waited 1.5 hours, were sent the wrong order (someone else's dessert), and then we're given cold inedible breakfasts. After a few bites I asked for a refund. I was given 5 pounds for my breakfast. I requested a full refund and was met with a lot of push back and tactics such as "the next time you come in" "well you've eaten some of the food" - I won't be back. After the few mouthfuls of food we had my partner and I are both very unwell, we expected a lot more.

Came for a family breakfast and everyone at our table absolutely loved their meals. Molly helped to serve us and she was such a friendly and kind staff member. Can’t recommend sorbo lounge enough.
