Fab place. The staff were lovely and the cats were a hoot, my kids loved it. The cats are rescued, and are for rehoming, so all for a good cause 🐱

I Went here with my boyfriend, Even know I personally don't like cats too much and my boyfriend does, I ended up enjoying it, Even got to stoke some of the lovely cats there there was quite a few of them, Overall the staff was lovey and welcoming even had a good chat with them. we ordered a few quick things from their menu too, Ended up really enjoying our selfs, would recommend to anyone that really loves cats.

The bad cat café is a lovely café with a calm atmosphere where you can go and interact with all the kitties and enjoy a cuppa as well as light bites to eat. The cats are all rescues who are well cared for until they go up for adoption. 100% would recommend a visit, the owners Roxy and Tasmin are lovely too. All ages are welcome and they also have quiet time between 3 and 5pm on a Saturday for people with autism, sensory issues and learning difficulties. I much prefer this café to some of the others I've visited in Newcastle. 5/5 stars.

When to the Red Lion for dinner, staff very pleasant, bar area nice and spacious and generally clean ,that’s where it ends ,myself and wife sat at table no 42 facing the corner opposite, where four dogs were congratulating with there owners ,lovely dogs ,so lovely they had a dogs water bowl on there table ,the dogs sat on the seats next to there owners ,and even due to the fact that the owners put dog blankets on the seats ,the dogs just walked over the seats ,I do believe that the dogs found the tables ok for there use ,but call my old fashioned it was not acceptable to me and my wife ,please note iam not saying anything detrimental about the dogs they felt at home ,you may ask the question why I ordered the meals in this situation, one reason is that my wife does not like confrontation,so I kept my mouth shut ,the meal my wife wanted was not available so she chose another ,I chose Irish burgers Wow wow What a pile of rubbish ,mind you the dogs kept looking over at them ,but iam not cruel I love dogs ,would not like the vet bills if they ate them The icing on the cake was when my wife went for the salt she picked it up and low and behold they had not put the bottom on ,this in due course allowed the salt to pour out from the bottom ,method in there mad ness more salt kills the taste no complaints This is fact oh and do not drink the beer unless you like warm flat ale

Staying nearby stopped off for a swift drink, good service & clearly popular as quite busy, loved the bare stone walls, the flowery paper looked liked something from the 60’s lol

Tried Sunday lunch. Paid nearly 40 pound for 2 cold lamb dinners. Little turnip. 1 piece of carrot. Couple bits of cabbage and 2 potatoes. When we told the waitress it was cold she took them away and returned a couple of minutes later with same plates straight out of the microwave . 40 quid for 2 microwave dinners. Disgusting. With drinks I asked for a glass of rioja. Wast told none. Asked for malbec . Same answer. Asked for a temprinillo. The guy spent 3 or 4 minutes looking in the white wine fridge before I told him it was red. A pino grigio for the wife. Again. None. Not good at all. Staff don't know basic wines and really poor overpriced microwave food.
