The fish here was amazing it was really nice my women go it I had a taste.. I got a kebab 🥙 it was average the chips was slightly undercooked little bit underwhelming to be fair considering it's a fish and chip shop but yeah.. overall I would try this place again to see if it could be a little bit better 👍 🤔

Chips were greasy and didn't have much taste

This is a fantastic fish shop with great portion sizes.

We have used this fish shop for over 30 years since moving to northumberland from durham. Tonight l took my 85 year old husband a ride out back up the A19 and he wanted a fish. I ordered 2 fish and am pleased to wait for freshly cooked fish and don't object to waiting my turn but when the fish were cooked and 3 people who ordered after me were served l asked for my money back and left. My husband has dementia and l didn't want to leave him much longer needless to say this will be our last visit the service leaves a lot to be desired !

I rang my order in.was told ten minutes it would be ready they did not ask for my name but I told them my name.went to collect my order was told you have to wait in the queue what's the point in ringing your order In no quicker .when I got to be served they could not find the order.then I was asked what I had order .told them one of the item which was a burger with no batter .one of the younger member staff was laughing i said to him stop laughing. I asked the the young girl was there a manager in was told just the shift manageress .the girl who served me was young with glasses on told me the shift manager can not change the policy for waiting in the queue when you phone order in.other customers were not happy with the length of time they had to wait nearly all young staff now .one of the young female serving piped up.theres only two of us serving were doing our best..the shift manager came out from the back her attitude towards was so unprofessional I would not have spoke to a customer the way she did.i have worked in catering catering most of my life and was told a customer always right..the managerss told me and pointed at me told me to.go we used this shop a lot but we will not be coming back. itsa disgrace

Pre order 2 hrs late cancelled ordered said it was delivered on just eat spoke to manager hung up on me complete toss pots never order from these if there is a mistake won't own up to it or contact just eat to help U 20 pound down

Young staff seemed out of depth serving. So slow with food, best if you pre order, would still go back as food is good

By and large, I have had a great service with this restaurant. Like all other eating establishments, they have their off days, but not many over 25 years...

I'll start by saying we have been here several times, and usually great. However this time we had to wait way way too long to receive my order (nothing complicated, fish and chips twice). I must have been stood there for 25 minutes. Could hear bickering between staff too, which wasn't nice. When I got the food home, it was very disappointing, and ended up leaving about half of it.

The guys serving were very industrious and smartly dressed.

Ordered small cod and chips and a potion of curry sauce washed down by a can of dandelion and burdock 😜 chips were perfectly cooked and the fish was spot on cheers 👍😁

Been many many times and no complaints about the food but having stood waiting for 45 mins for fish and chips without a word of explanation or apology - I won't be going back.

We try getting them every week on an odd occasion and meanodd chips have been cold , definitely worth the money.

Worst chips ever...all hard bits and barely warm..cheese pattie? Wheres the cheese? All potato! Kebab was errr ok....use them regularly but will be giving it a miss for a while....disgusting for the price actually

Absolutely amazing. Can’t fault the staff. Food was delicious, best I’ve had. Delivery was quick and reliable. Please don’t listen to negative feedback especially when people are ordering at peak times this is the best of the best. HIGHLY recommend!

If i am honest I rang the shop just to check if they were still delivering due to the icy weather and they were I ordered fish and chips the best I’ve had and my son had a pizza and he is fussy but loved we had mixed kebab that was unreal, we really appreciate the drivers coming out in this weather and gave a good tip thank you will definitely be back

Accused of leaving selfish feedback on my just eat review and as there is no way of responding I will review here too!! We ordered food at 7.30. It had not arrived by 9pm when I rang I was informed they were waiting for a driver and couldn’t tell me when that would happen!!! No mention to me at all that they were struggling due to the weather! It’s not selfish to expect your food within a reasonable time and if a customer calls to ask when their order will arrive an apology goes a long way when I was basically told they had no idea when it would even leave the shop! So no it was absolutely not selfish feedback it was an honest review!!!! In your response to my just eat review you say I’m an impatient customer who wants to put your drivers at risk!! Wow! Absolutely dreadful customer service!

Always busy, but slipping a bit on quality as it once was for the prices it should be fit for a king.

If giving zero stars was an option i would, waited 2 hours for a delivery and food was stone cold by the time it got here. I didnt even order anything massive 2 kids meal fish and chips and curry and chips something that should of took 10 minutes to make and max 30 minutes to deliver. Absolute joke will never be ordering from here again

Always open when you need something and great food

Ordered two mixed kebabs - went in the bin! Vile. Garlic sauce just taste like mayonaise, chilli sauce was watery with absolutely no taste whatsoever. Chicken dry with no taste. Whole thing was an absolute disaster waste of 30 quid. Won't be ordering again 👎

Quick service, clean space and nice food

Always saw this establishment as it wizzed past me 70mph while on A189 this time I decided to give it a go. Cod bites and Chips best I've had in some time, the batter is light delicate and the flaky cod was very fresh tasting very fresh..The chips must have been cooked moments before I arrived as they were piping hot free of grease and not swetting, not sure if the server consciously placed the bites to the side of the chips within the box to prevent swetting if so well done. I ate the meal in my car outside the chippy so everything was piping hot fresh and tasty I Iive 8 mile down the road so it would have been swetty and warm by the time I got home. I shall definitely be back despite the distance.

Always go to This Chippy, staff are Always Cheery, Considerate, and Helpful. Even bring your meals to you, if your seated and waiting.

Poor experience, I usually go to Benton four lanes, better prices, better quality, happier staff, thought it was going to be better, positive clean, varied choice.

Just spent nearly £22 on fish n chips and chicken nuggets and chips, the fish I would be being kind to say it was yesterday heated up, it looked days old and hard as nails, the chicken nuggets looked like we'll over cooked and rock hard, it's an utter disgrace the prices you get charged and it's not even fresh, won't be going back to these robbing sods 22 quid straight in the bin.

Such a disappointment, portion sizes were terrible, and food was awfully underwhelming for the price paid, will definitely not be revisiting here. Only positive was the speed of the service.

Very frustrating. I was ordering on just eat but the delivery driver said it’s cheaper ordering directly on the phone. Ordered a kebab wrap and a donner tray and chips, the tray had no sauce come with it which I ordered and is on my receipt. The wrap is not wrapped at all and is a complete nightmare. Not exactly happy putting money into a dinner which is messy and also dry as theres no sauce.

Popped in on Tuesday 27/6 , about 3:30 ish . Ordered a jumbo sausage lunchtime special. Was attended to by a very polite young man , prompt, polite and efficient. Food was delicious, sausage cooked just right . There was also a young blonde girl serving customers who was polite and friendly. I’ll definitely go back

Best fish and chips around and good value

Top service from this place, they even took the food to my car when it was chucking it down. I normally have haddock which they didn't have and I normally don't like cod but I'll tell you I ate the whole thing it was do nice, and so is the chicken kebab. Top Notch

One of the best takeaway for fish and chips, if they could ask what people want when there is a queue it would save waiting until your at the front, and then waiting for it to he cooked

Expensive for what you get, battered sausage is really dry and costs £2 more than unbattered. Fish and chips hand full of chips also very dry and fish was small not large. Price does not suit the taste or serving on this occasion. I won't be using this place again even though I am local I will be going into seghill or cramlington. And obviously by the reply not a very nice person yes I am not good at maths prob why cost me too much

Friday chippy tea and the best mince pie I have ever had.

Been ill for days off the kebab sorry to say and this used to be a really nice chippy but I won't be going again.

Can get busy, food is really good.

Absolute joke of a place waited over an hour for a delivery and they cancelled it! Saying the driver came to the door when he blatantly never as the dogs would have barked! Now have to wait up to 24 hours for a refund to come to my bank!

Gt, little fishy, it can become busy, so if you are in a hurry, I suggest you ring your order in first, then collect or better still why not get it delivered.

Glad to say it's getting a lot better, a few years ago it was always busy throughout the day, cars and lorries stopping constantly then, everything changed but, it is definitely on the up again.

Ordered a chicken kebab with salad the salad is definitely not fresh it is brown and old the whole thing is over priced and disgusting.
