Wonderful service and atmosphere! The staff are all so professional and attentive with sparkling personalities. Huge thank you to Nat and Callum for looking after us last night and a shout out to Gareth for all his help in making our reunion do so fabulous! Thank you!

What you would call a proper pub 🍻

The food was really great and so tasty, have an allergy and they were very attentive to it. Staff are friendly, conversational and came and checked on us a few times. The atmosphere is homey and enjoyed the experience !

Nice at the Monday price. Shame it's not all the time. Shame about having to pay for car park

The Auction House is a lovely public house, plenty of atmosphere and beautifully laid out inside. Outside there is a large garden with seats and tables. You pay for parking your car, but get the money back when you buy your drinks in the pub. Currently work is going on in the kitchen so food is not available just yet, but tell you what, the place will be lovely for eats when all is up and running. Anyway, give it a try.

Great pub always warm inside and friendly staff. Seems to be better since the new owners took over. Friendly bar maid the lad always seems like he’s had a bad day but properly works long hours. Beer prices are good and there doubles are even better lol. See you soon all

OH WOW!!! I'm glad that some pubs are doing so well. I've been popping in to The Auction House when walking Wookie ordering a pint, and then going outside and enjoying 20 mins rest whilst having a Stella. I walking in tonight, to be greeted by the bar person shouting "YOU CAN'T BRING THAT IN HERE!!!". I said "Huh?". Apparently they have a new landlord who is allergic to dogs, so you are not even allowed to go in, order a pint, and then go and drink it outside. Perhaps the new landlord licks the bit of floor between the bar and the door? Perhaps it is all about the landlord and sod the customers? Perhaps the landlord is in the wrong job? Perhaps the landlord doesn't think of it as a business and more like their own personal lounging space? Our dog doesn't even malt. Hey ho. Their loss. #theauctionhouse Not a pub anymore. The biggest joke is that their website says "Dog Friendly".

We hadn't been in the pub in a long time, we popped in for a friends catch up, we were made to feel welcome, the place looked great and the staff very efficient and friendly, it would be great to go for a meal next time, I hope the kitchen will be up and running soon

First time in The Auction House, my partner and I had different meals, but they both came out at the same time, both piping hot. Nice friendly atmosphere and friendly staff. Will be coming here again for definite. Kids menu too, soo ideal for families too.

Arrived and ordered meal at 7.30pm....pub wasn't busy at all very few people eating.... But that didn't make difference..we waited an hour.. then went to ask where our food was.. the bar man was very apologetic and abit embarrassed that we had waited so long..so he gave us complimentary drinks... He then brought our food to us..and apologised for the ridiculous waiting time and re imbursed our money... thank you for that.. we put a few quid into his Christmas kitty for him being a true gent and realising that our wait was far too long... My meal was abit on the salty side.. my partner seemed to enjoy his...so I guess all good in the end... But, we wouldn't visit again..

Had a lovely lunch there yesterday with a friend. Service was good and quick. Food was good. Would go again.

Meals advertised 2 for £12, but when ordered was told that it finishes at 4pm, but nowhere was thi stated on the leaflet, very misleading. Felt for the staff to be put in this situation ,trying to explain

Steak was as tough as old boots. Mushrooms looked like frozen slices and quite likely deep fried into oblivion. Chips average at best. Will never eat here again! Awful.

Id probably give it 5 stars if I hung around for more than 1 pint. It's a pretty big place, nice beer garden outside. They have food, I haven't tried it. Was completely empty when I went but I'm told it gets busy. Locals seem alright. If I'm completely honest, compared to my normal haunts, this place did feel like it was in the middle of nowhere HOWEVER I started a job nearby and when I needed the toilet it was the only thing around. Any port in a storm kind of thing. It is a nice place, even if it's far from civilisation (20/30 minute walk). It's got football, drink and food. So yeah I would recommend it. Next time I pop by I'll check the selection of whiskeys and update the review accordingly. Overall it's positive

Excellent food, really friendly and helpful staff. Nice sized beer garden. Reasonable prices. Comfortable seating through out. Ample parking. We as a family like to visit this Public house. All round good place to eat and drink.

Poor food and for customer service wow never in my life had the attitude from my kids rude I am sorry but when the chef is walking around the pub with clothes or tea towels hanging from his back pockets and entering the toilets and then straight back into the kitchen and when being seated to be to this is the eating area right next to the main door and by the toilets loved the smell coming from them as I was trying the hard to eat the poor food and well over priced WON'T BE GOING BACK AVOID

Food was terrible, chef’s attitude was the same! Replacement food was 30+ minutes and then told it was defrosting! No steak knife provided. AVOID

firstly we all ordered roast beef dinners with drinks. we had to remind the lad who took our order about our drinks. ten minutes after ordering he came over to say that they only had pork in the freezer.. two had pork, one was changed to steak and chips. we waited 45 minutes for our food, which was luke warm. the steak was blue to rare and also not warm. thankfully he likes his steak rare. it was very very poor service and bland food. the only good to come from it, was my dogs got a meat feast when i got home. will never be eating there again and will let friends know about our experience.

Reasonable pub, recently refurbished, noticeable staff shortage, but that goes for other pubs as well.. Only issue, letting two hulking great Bull Mastiffs run around annoying guests.

Absolutely smashing lady served us However the food was an absolute disaster. 2 x Medium Steak and chips the first attempt both were cold 1 steak was like leather. 2nd attempt 1 steak cold & raw the other good but both plates kept under the hot plate so the chips dried out & the peas looked like golf balls. We just paid for what was edible, can't work out how you get it so wrong when it's clearly pre cooked Disappointed

Lovely decor interior, comfortable surroundings to enjoy a well kept pint of real ale (other drinks are available :)). Great food!... Home cooked from scratch, very tasty and reasonably priced. Nice big garden with a covered area too.

The manager lacks customer service skills Massively over charged for food and drinks which were of poor quality. What ever you do do NOT have a tab you'll end up having a ridiculously large bill with someone else's added on

Well kept beers..friendly staff really good Sunday roast ...the chef went to great length to make the beef rare by roasting a steak for me and it was excellent and very good value at a tad under 8 pounds.My friend had a lovely roast pork batch (Coventry for cob) with crackling stuffing and apple sauce and declared it first class. Highly recommended.

We can here for drinks early evening and ended up having not only a few drinks but the Camembert to share. It was absolutely lovely. Nice staff and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely come again.

Food was amazing! I had the cheese burger it came with seasoned chips & coleslaw (delicious!) I love a good coleslaw Service was perfect,atmosphere was good My partner had the 2 courses lunch menu. Starter soup of the day was roasted butternut squash with chilli Main Southern fried chicken burger also came with seasoned chips and coleslaw the burger was overflowing with chicken so I was able to steal some and it was soo good. I would absolutely recommend! 10/10

Went there once, never again, it was dirty, atmosphere was weird. I ordered a burger thought it would be a safe option, it was very disgusting! ! I literally had one bite and walk out again.

Friendly staff and excellent food!

I went there on Tuesday with my partner for the first time since its been re opened, food was disguting and very over priced even with the 50% off. I had a chicken platter which I was expecting different chickens but it was just 2 tiny peices of fried chicken. We waited well over an hour for our food which was told 30 mins wait on arrival but it was closer to the hour and 30 minutes wait. My partners food was cold so sent it back but was no better when it came out 5 seconds later. Such a shame as some staff are nice. I was embrassed to sit and watch two staff keep shouting over to a young lad that was serving us, check their ID (two lads next us to us) but infact they looked older then the staff that was serving them and the whole pub could hear them poor lads looked very embarrassed. I would not recommend here and I won't be coming back for food again. Very over priced for such little /disguting food.

Flat beer, poor service, not allowed to swap the flat Staropraman as the Coors was a different price & it would take the bar man too long to get the keys to change it for me... I'm actually shocked. I have never ever asked for a refund on beer before... EVER!! Lovely refurb, shame about the service... ill not be going back! 25mins I'll never get back!

Will definitely not be visiting this establishment again. The meals we had were far too expensive even with 50% off. Very small portions. We have been taking advantage of the 50% off over the last couple of weeks at other Pubs and have been pleased with our meals, so we thought that we'd try here. Very disappointed, can't believe that people will happily pay the full price. Also because we had already paid the Bill at the time of ordering, when we ordered another Pepsi we were charged the full price (even though we were still eating) . The waitress could have told us this when we ordered it but didn't, so beware. Staff were pleasant enough though and social distancing measures seemed good enough. However still won't be visiting again. Shame.

Food was faultless but expensive and service very very slow.

Very disappointed in the food, portions way to small for the price. The 5 or 6 chips that came with the childrens portions was pathetic, my 2yr old was still hungry after eating chicken nuggets and the spaghetti dish which I'm pretty sure had less than a spoonful of meat. The shepherd's pie had way too much rosemary which hadn't even been chopped up so was still in large sprigs and was full of onions with very little meat.

The pub used to be the bell inn. (Comment left during lock down) even though they had a limited menu the food was still great and staff where friendly the pub looks great on the inside too. So glad we can come back again. :). Felt so safe coming in as safe where well informed of things. Deffo a great place to go

Much improved dark wood interior since the refurbishment in March 2020, friendly professional staff, plenty of seating, nice patio at the front and beer garden to the rear. My only issue was the availability of certain items from the menu and at the bar but overall a good experience.

So rude! We walked in and they took one look at us and we instantly felt unwelcome! The bartender with pink hair was rude, didn't smile, made us feel completely unwelcome and other customers could see that! We got apologies from other customers but none from the staff! He told my friend to take off his hat or no service in the must blunt way possible. So he took it off for service and put it on again later, which was followed with him being shouted at across the bar. It was never explained that he couldn't wear it because of cctv. We only know this because another customer got the same explanation in a much more polite manner by a different member of staff. We will never be stepping foot in there again. He was so rude to us and we felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable. We moved on to the Penny Farthing at bannerbrook Park and got excellent service. Couldn't recommend Penny Farthing more.

This is a lovely family little pub, very friendly & chilled atmosphere. It caters for everyone & has lots of exciting fundraising charity events, parties & food. They do bingo every Wednesday which is a lot of fun. The drinks are great value for money, I would highly recommend this pub especially if you’re looking for somewhere to socialise. Everyone is lovely once you to get to know people & the staff bend over backwards to ensure customers are happy 🙂

Unnecessarily overly expensive drinks. Have to pay for parking?! Considering you're already a paying patron...Sure you get it reimbursed, but it's not the point. Tables were a mess everywhere, though credit to the lady who cleaned up our table upon arrival. Overall I doubt I'd go there again, it was just the nearest venue.

A proper old boozer I've used this place many times over the years though I've never been a regular. The regulars are very friendly and in the 30 years I've been using this place I've never seen any trouble. A warm and friendly pub I'd recommend it to anyone.

Unless you are one of the 10 odd regulars who frequent/dictate what happens in this place don't even bother going in. You are not allowed to make any noise/dance etc and you will always be last in the queue at the bar. And don't even think about ordering food 🙁 it's a shame as a year or two ago this was a thriving pub and a nice place to eat.
