The Artizan in Northampton

A real hidden gem and very dog friendly. Made to feel welcome from the outset by the landlord who customer service throughout our visit was superb (many others should take note!). Drinks very well priced and the food, we had the meat pizza and the chorizo/pancetta mac & cheese, was unbelievable and amazing value. If you are in the area, it's a must to drop in, we definitely will again.

Went for the food, found out they don't serve food till Wednesdays. Shame as the reviews are great.

If you haven’t tried the pizzas at the Artizan then you absolutely must. Amazing!

Lovely looking pub, clean and bright and welcoming. Staff were very pleasant. Tonight they had Live music which was very good, drink prices good. We had one of their pizzas cooked in house on sourdough base, the special,.....philly cheese steak pizza with a side of garlic mushrooms, flipping lovely. Highly reccomended

Very nice, looking forward to a longer visit.

We took 30 team members out for pizza and sides for our Q2 Kick-Off, it worked out great and the food was perfect.

Lovely pub inside really clean and friendly. Dogs welcome and great to watch the football in!

Smashing. A splendid experience in a local pub. Nice atmosphere good staff. A bit of a wait for service but I would rather be in a busy vibrant place and wait than not 😜 A good pub!

The staff are really lovely, there is a great selection of beers and the pizza and dough balls are phenomenal and made with locally sourced dough. Epic establishment!

One of the few remaining back street boozers left. Landlord was a gentleman and it was very nice and clean in there. Plus his dog is lovely

T is the best but Charlie oh my god wow she is the ultimate cocktail waitress in town the pina colada is to die for !!!!! George pls what can I say about George other than boy what a great addition to the team but not only that what a great leader he is even though he is bossy he is fantastic and t especially likes him as he goes easn him and allows him to slack off Do not get me wrong this place has it all ,fun dogs and everything and great food but do you know why I really come here it's because the atmosphere is so unbelievable that you cannot leave. Great pub good food and good service

Really friendly pub that does the best pizza in Northampton. They've got a wood fired oven which makes the pizza out of this world. The staff and locals are friendly and you can even take your dog.

Amazing pub with a fabulous atmosphere. The landlord, Craig is so welcoming and creates a wonderful vibe. The pizzas are hands down the best in Northampton. We were there last night with friends for birthday pizzas and drinks and the staff were very accommodating as we were a big party 😀

Fantastic little pub with excellent food. The fresh pizzas are awesome and there’s a good choice of largers, ales, wines and spirits Friendly staff always making you feel welcome. Great place for a get together with friends and family and dog friendly.

What a super pub. Great staff and friendly atmosphere. We could even take our dog in. Pizza was lovely with a pint. Outdoor area too at the back for socialising and smoking. Everybody is welcome.

We used to LOVE The Artisan. But something has changed. Since it re-opened post-lockdown, the soul has gone out of the place. Staff are different, functional, polite but not overtly welcoming. Food too has taken a tumble. Pizzas taste of absolutely nothing, as if using the cheapest of ingredients. And the drinks selection has gone downhill. It's such a shame as this was a pub with a heart, great grub and good booze.

Quiet due to lockdown but enough space to sit and Covid rules in place. Had a Wherry beer but was on last legs and going cloudy so not brill. Wife had Ghost Ship which was fine. Food on offer.. mainly Pizza but didnt try it and so couldnt say but past experience was good. Not bad.

I popped into here as there has been a change in management and I wanted to see if it would suit me. Friendly greeting from the new landlady who showed my beer or lager selection which was very varied. The seating area is very laid back and relaxed and also has a lovely little back yard which is a sun trap in the afternoon.There is a varied menu, I decided on the takeaway Pizza, freshly cooked in the oven, very tasty and good VFM.Overall, it has a clean and fresh presentation and I would reccomend a try. Nice to see an old established pub moving with the times.

Hot and stuffy...but great staff and good set up.

If I was rating it purely on the food and drink it would be a full five stars but unfortunately the tables are high and the chairs are a bit too laid back for eating. A good selection of ales, delicious pizzas and friendly bar staff, pity about the seating.

Great night at the Artizan. Lovely comfortable pub with a range of seating options. Very good selection of beers, excellent service and if that's not enough, it even has a pizza bar!! Why not go to the pub, order a take out pizza and enjoy the feel of the place while your amazing pizza is prepared and cooked fresh on the premises!! There's also live music monthly and a range of special offer nights ...

Had a great time at this pub. Not my local nor my usual. It was bright and clean and the staff were friendly. We had pizza’s and drinks and it was all yummy. Would recommend for a quick drink or a very casual bite to eat. 👍🏻

Nice back street pub. Gets crowded when the football is on TV, but otherwise quiet enough to have a conversation. The pizzas are popular.

Pizzas are tasty and good value. Staff are friendly. Some of local clientele can be a bit rowdy which spoils the atmosphere at times.

Top notch pizza and excellent choice of beers!

Been a couple of years since I had visited but pub still looks great. Top selection of drink choices, big screen for the sports and beautiful pizza cooked in front of you. Pizzas are reasonable too. Would highly recommend if you want a pint and some pizza.

Friendly Local Pub, I go a couple of times a week to have a drink with mates. The staff are polite. Sometimes not enough of them during busy periods, but they keep their sense of humour.

Having never visited this pub I was spoilt for choice choosing a beer and enjoyed the comfortable. The pizzas looked very tasty though I'll admit I didn't try one

Homely surroundings...fab pizza

I used the pub before its makeover and now attracts a crowd that would never have used the pub before. Very good and reasonably priced range of real ales and a pizza oven if you want one. More suited to the welly road than a back street.

A great modern classic British pub, excellent Pizza, good wine (wife and daughter happy) no dark ale options (mainly Indian & pale ales) hence reason for dropping from 5*.

Hidden Gem, good beer and pizza too

Waited over an hour for a pepperoni pizza. When it arrived, it was - ironically - undercooked, with a total of two slices of pepperoni on it and zero taste. Beer was cold though...

Sometimes have a nice pint or two here at the Artizan, service is normally hit & miss. Pizzas are ok , nothing to shout about and pricey.This evening we walked out as bar staff didn’t have the manners to even acknowledge waiting customers, too busy chatting in the pizza area. We recognise it’s a small bar and a push to get too many staff behind the pumps, but even a “ be with you “ or “hello” would have been nice rather than make us stand at the bar like SOME SORT OF NUMPTY’s.Come on Artizan! You’ve had some great staff at times, just not this particular evening. Took my cash to the Old House at Home this evening and got served straight away by a young smiling chap, made us feel like welcome customers. Take note Artizan!

Good range of drinks and very friendly staff. Unfortunately having a central bar makes it a slightly awkward environment, often struggling to find a seat. Went on a Saturday night and was impressed it was open regardless of the snow but the music volume was far too loud.
