This chip shop is a huge letdown. First of all, I don’t expect chips to run out at peak times. Tonight, I witnessed a long wait, raw chips, and chips dripping in grease. It’s clear that the staff have no food experience. I will be sharing my review with Northampton Council to review your hygiene rating. You currently have a rating of 2 (improvement necessary), but I believe major improvement is necessary. Avoid go elsewhere.

Very poor staff and very bad service , never have a clue what is going on

This has to be the worst fish and chip shop in the town. We live locally to this take away and when we moved here we used to go weekly and it was okay. Now it’s awful. We keep giving it the benefit of the doubt in case the food has been poor as as a one off and it hasn’t changed. We’ve found another fish and chip shop not too far away that is amazing but unfortunately it is closed for the holidays so had to go back to this one last night. What a mistake it was!!! 19.40pm and the chips were not fresh, all hard.. cold and very over cooked. Why can’t they get it right… we are never going there again and would advise others to avoid.

As good as always with the food just didn't have my complete order was missing some items.

Staff are not friendly like they used to one person takes your money and then tell you sorry we don't do that throw the food boxes on the counter not asked if I want salt and vinegar not wrapped up anymore or put in bag if that how they treat local customers then I take my business elsewhere in future it clear the staff don't care anymore they have a Hygiene rating of 2 improvements Necessary I 100% Agree with that not just the Hygiene the staff need improving as well.

Practically inedible chips, very, very dry. Wish I'd opened as soon as I got in the car rather than waiting till I got home! Seems like they have spent hours in the warmer. I've had better when I've saved my chips for the next day. I've managed to eat a few but they are pretty gross, who knew you could get chips so wrong ! These ones will going in the bin.....

Not even worth one star. Called in for cod chips and peas. Meal was so bad it was binned when we got home won’t be going back. Anyone who like’s the food here must be very easily pleased

What is going on with this place lately? Standards are dropping, as is the quality of their food but the prices keep going up and up - sometimes get charged more than what is on the board. Sort it out!

After missing items last time thought I'd give them benefit of the doubt and wish I hadn't!!! Chips soggy and luke warm and surprise surprise no salad or sauce on halfpounder like I requested , very poor . What happened ? Used to be very good sadly no more.

Ordered two cheese burgers when the guy was taking them out of the oven he dropped a burger on the floor...But.. Then picked it up put it back on the bun and served it up! The buns not eaten but is going to trading standards along with the video.. Never again...

I have been using this place for many years and I've always found it one of the best in the town, however on my last visit 5/07/23 I noticed that the standards have dramatically declined for example the two kebabs that I ordered have to be the worst kebabs I have had from anywhere.... the meat was undercooked and was all little bits nothing bigger than your finger nail obviously was what was left and then just chopped up and served , the salad was very poor quality and completely drenched in sauce, I agree with the other comments made about their chips being small pieces and lots and lots of black bits. Even my dog turned her nose up and that's saying something I shall never return.

Don’t recommend this fish and chips, extremely greasy… almost impossible to eat… big big disappointment… and definitely not fresh! The chips were good though but won’t be ordering again… sorry.

So I ask for battered sausage and a worker just picks them up with his bare hands then bring the batter in?? Backwards but whatever, I asked for a large curry sauce and got a small kinda curry sauce and to top if off the chips tasted refried or warmed up, nasty, I won't be going here again not when there's better around like eastfield chippy, bushland chippy and definitely nicks plaice. New girl (since I last went in a few months ago) on the till with the glasses could do with some customer service training. Was only 2 of us in there but despite asking for loads of salt and vinegar she then asked me if I wanted it and when I said yes, loads, she put a quick splash on. When I asked for more she gave me a dirty look like the extra was coming out of her wages 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️ Only went there over Boothville as they take card. Having consumed the food.. The small sausage was so hard, I had to use a massive knife to slice it, the skin was about as thick as the actual sausage & my chips had foil on them.. No food came in foil so baffled at to where that came from 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Afterwards I had a bad stomach too 👎🏼

Orders rarely correct, but ordered two cod roe as part of our takeaway and they were inedible and so dried up they looked like they had been there all day. Last chance won’t ever be going back.

Food medioca and bland but edible. Service slow.

Had to wait a few minutes but the food was good. Thoroughly recommend the onion rings. Good all round menu including traditional fish and chips, kebabs, pizza and burgers

Check your order before you leave, you have been warned!!! Peas were cold , item missing and large cod a joke ,mainly batter and overcooked and didn't taste like cod at all, not nice!! Think I'll stick with the one on birchfield road.

Food was late, order wasn’t correct, restaurant refused any form of refund

This chippy has been my go to for 3 years and the last few times have been shocking! Orders is never right, one staff member doesn't have a clue what she's doing and the food has just gone so down hill! Definitely won't be coming back

Awful!! Earwig in salad of burger. When rang to complain they were not interested! Shame as used to be very good. Won't use again

After this visit ive decided to only eat fresh fish at the seaside where they change thier oil regularly!!!! Only gave 1 star for food as pritty inedible.......

Absolutely disgusting - Burger had an Earwig crawl out of it as I opened the container. Called to complain and was met with immediate denial, manager has absolutely 0 customer service skills whatsoever. Didn’t even get an apology. The Spring Roll was mushy and gross as well. Additionally when we were in the shop the staff were swearing about the football, completely inappropriate when there are customers in the store. SORT IT OUT - won’t be coming back and will be telling friends to avoid! Another once good place gone bad.

We had pie and chips and a piece of cod Well the pie was tepid the cod didn't even taste like cod had a horrible tangy taste so only ate a third if that. This has been our local for over 15 years but we have noticed such a decline in the food needless to say we were both up during the night stomach cramps and the other unpleasantness that follows lots of trips to the loo 🤢 NEVER EVER GOING TO USE THEM AGAIN 🤮🤮🤮

Good value for money , friendly staff

Chips were stale, battered sausage was chewy and spring roll was just disgusting. We said yes when asked if we wanted salt and vinegar on the chips but couldn't taste anything except disappointment. Staff looked gormless and were shouting at each other. Never going back

Went in at 5pm order chips, burger and sausage 14.50 it cost and to be honest it's was cold old and disgusting avoid

Have used this chippy a few times over the past 18 months since moving to the area but had the worst experience last night. Service was incredibly slow with other customers complaining about poor service and missing items in their order. Our fish smelt and the batter was a soggy mess. Won't be returning.

My food was inedible the batter on the fish and sausage was so hard I had to take it off. All the food tasted old like it had been reheated I couldn't eat much of any of it. I paid nearly £18 just to put it in the bin. Disgusting.

Been to this place twice now got two large kebabs,waste of money really could of just paid for a regular hardly no kebab meat(loads of salad) hardly no sauce and some of my meat was over cooked.WORST KEBABS !!!

Popped in today for the usual lamb doner wrap for £3.75 Handed a £5 note and was told it’s now £5.50, the board was still showing £3.75 and I pointed this out, he said they haven’t got round to changing it yet. Thanks I said and walked out never getting my business again👍👍

Not for the first time the service is pretty shoddy, miserable looking faces and you cant hear them mumbling behind their screens. I was on my bike and fancied sausage and chips, I usually carry only a debit card but have a £20 note for emergencies, ,my bill was £3 ish and they told me the minimum was £5 on a card, this isn't 1997, people pay on cards for lots of reasons. Needless to say the change was mostly in £1 coins which is difficult to carry on a bike. The whole place just irks me so wont be going there again. I think some customer service training is in order or these folk will find their business is slowly going down the pan.

I think it's really going down hill,I ordered a curry and a kebab,the kabab meat was cold ,chips awful full of black and green bits,and the curry was disgusting had 5 bits of chicken and the rest watery juice,won't be going there again.

I didn't find the staff very welcoming or helpful. I found it difficult to understand what was being said and that was treated as an irritant.

Placed a simple online order, website stated 20/30 mins for delivery, finally delivered after 1 hour 15 mins. This after a £5 delivery fee, not acceptable. This takeaway seems to have nosedived in the last six months, the food received was poor quality, I will give my business to other more reliable establishments.

So disappointing - the fish had been standing for hours and was cold. The chips not crisp. The pie cold in the middle. Complete waste of money. Should avoid if you can search out somewhere else and not the sister shop in the Weston Favell centre which is equally as bad.

I've been been going here for more than 20 years. Which tells you everything. I have either a large sausage & chips, or a chicken breast & chips.

Called last night just after 9 for a battered sausage. Husband was told sorry we don't have any despite them having sausages they could have battered. We used to come regularly until the one at Weston Favell Centre opened and the nicer friendly owner went there. After them getting our order wrong a couple of times we stopped going. Last night doesn't encourage us back

Awful. I've used Andrews on and off for well over 30 years, but the last few times, the food was awful. The last lot of chips we bought were inedible. There were many green ones, a lot had big eyes or bits that had sprouted, sone were black inside, and three in one bag had areas where the potato had been rotten before it was fried. There were very few decent sized chips; they were mostly little ends and hard bits. They tasted old; they were not fresh. We don't agree with food waste, but the lot went in the bin. Sadly, after all this time, we won't be using Andrews again.

Food good but service a bit slow. Maybe I caught it on a bad day and would go again so all good.

Normally these guys are great, ... you really need to change that oil guys...

I have used this chippy for my whole life at least the past 30 years but I have to say that in the last year the staff ARE RUDE AND UNHELPFUL. The food is good but I'm honestly thinking I don't actually want to put my hard earned money into a company that are so unnecessarily rude to someone they know has been going there for years....my parents used them too but I think tonight was my last visit...

This has been my local for 30 years, GREAT staff, chips are 10/10 and you cannot go wrong with their Tandoori kebab

I always liked this chippy, but this time was disappointing. Order marked as delivered, but actually late 10 minutes. Fish nice as usual but chicken was horrible tasting of burnt oil and chips soaked in oil.

Good was very hot when it arrived.

Had a beef curry? I think they had run out of beef curry so just filled a tub with curry sauce. Dreadful. But they do do the best fish around.

I ordered food at 18.38 and said it would be delivered by 19.20/19.40 and we are still waiting and it is now 21.00 I've spoke to them on 2 occasions they said there was a mix up with orders and delivered it elsewhere 🤬🤬

Food delivered was wrong … not only wrong but had mushroom juice seeping from the bag. Rang Andrews and to be fair they agreed to the wrong order but then had to wait for my order to be re-delivered also took the original delivery back so not only did I get a late wrong delivery but so did some one else .. I had to ring twice to see if my order was coming due to being so late.. This is my 1st time using just eat and may be my last ………. Next time I’ll collect as the food was tasty

Unfortunately the food had little flavour and was soaked with oil so by the time it arrived it was all very soggy. Not terrible but I wouldn't recommend

Went in on the fly on a Friday, stood at the counter in front of staff, not acknowledged for 5mins. When I asked if I could order, told it was busy and would just have to wait. Food and price reasonable enough

Wow what a contrast. I'm a local regular and the fish is great. However I went for the piri piri rice chicken and fries......... be warned.the chips have a sprinkling of whatever powder flavouring they use on the chicken which is over salty. The rice was worse than uncle Ben's done badly and I felt I was ripped off on portion size. The burger had age old salad in it and was dry. Most.of our meal was thrown away. What a waste of £15. Totally shattered my illusion of this establishment . Will be buying elsewhere in the future

We ordered these for the family the chips were dry and like cardboard, the fish was watery and tasteless the batter was soggy and tasteless. Disappointed is a understatement. This is the last time I'll ever use them

The toppings were left off the pizza so we just got a margarita. We were told to leave the comments in this section so that is what we are doing. The Piri piri kebab was delivered without salad or sauce. Very disappointing.

I was on lunch and thought I would treat myself to sausage and chips £3.75 but chap said it's a minimum of £5.00 on card this day an age custom is custom regardless luckily tesco was close by and dont HAVE a minimum as I'm diabetic and needed to eat thank you Andrews.

As a first time user of this service I am very impressed, when ordering the food I had not realised how many options there were, for example I did not realise that I could have a mixed grill or liver and bacon. Thank you

First Class Fish&Chips good size fish and very tasty my partner had mushy peas and they were nice I had gravy which was very tasty will certainly order again and may be try something different great service Andrews And Great Food will recommend you to friends thank you

I ordered a pizza and it took them nearly 15 mins just to make it then the wait to cook it. Will never have another one.
