Great experience here: good quality, tasty food, faultless service and a really pleasant ambience. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it

Extremely unfriendly receptionist at the front desk who couldn’t even smile as she took us through to the dining room. We were shown to a table which looked as if it shouldn’t be there, again by an unfriendly waitress. There was a jug of water on the table which we asked to be refreshed and were told it had only just been put there. Obviously our request didn’t go down at all well as we could see the staff commenting between themselves so we decided to leave. Having heard favourable comments about The Arlington from friends we decided to have lunch there today. I have never had the misfortune to be greeted by such unfriendly staff as I have today.

Have visited several times for Sunday lunch, the staff are always very friendly. Great Sunday lunch and well priced too.

We enjoyed our meals at this restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Food well presented and cooked to our liking. Staff very pleasant and helpful throughout.

My wife and I had the misfortune to have a bar lunch in this hotel today. I ordered a bacon, brie and cranberry panini with chips. Instead of cranberry, I was served slimy mushrooms, presumably because they had no cranberry sauce left and hoped I wouldn't notice the difference. The chips had to be seen and tasted to be believed: they were both brunt and soggy at the same time which must be a difficult combination to achieve.. I can only assume the chips were fried sometime the previous week and stuck under a microwave today. My wife's lunch consisted of a lukewarm baked potato with unappetising looking prawns in a tasteless sauce. I felt rather sorry for the waitress having to serve customers this slop. However, my sympathy was short lived as when we complained about the appalling standard of the food, she would only offer a fifteen per cent reduction in the price of my meal. After a long period of closure during lockdown, it would have been no culinary loss if this hotel had closed down permanently.

Not only a great choice of dishes on the menu but served by excellent attentive staff, it is well worth a visit.

Sunday menus were already on the tables but the normal weekday was brought to us on request without a problem. The menus catered for a variety of tastes which is very good to see. The food was lovely and the service good, at no time did we feel rushed.

We all decided to have an uplifting Monday afternoon lunch and booked an outdoor table and we were not disappointed!! We had a very personable waiter and the outdoor area was nice with large umbrellas set far enough back from the main road to be quiet and pleasant! I ordered the Ceasar Salad, and it was gorgeous with loads of anchovies, dressing and croutons. There are not many places in Norwich that serve a decent Ceasar salad and I've finally found one! One lady ordered a goats cheese, walnut and avocado salad and it was loaded! She said it was really good. Another one of us ordered a cheese an pickle sandwich, which looked great with loads of filling and although I would have preferred thinner slices of bread, she really loved it. We will definitely go back!

We love the Arlington (in George Hotel). Having been there many times for many occasions from just the two of us to large (30+) work Christmas meals to Christmas Day lunch, we can tell you they are they are the best! Alistair is the star, but all the staff are excellent. The food is perfectly prepared . The food presentation is fabulous and the taste is out of this world. The atmosphere is attractive and worry free.

Excellent service by the waiter , what a character ! Lovely fresh food . Clean and new . Everywhere spotless . Try sunday lunch out this weekend

Went here to eat with 3 friends and a 2 year old. The food was excellent the Service excellent we were looked after by Alistair who is one in a million..what ever they pay that guy is not enough.He treats you so well and has impeccable manners well done. Will definately be going back.

We spent 3 nights at the George Hotel so had two meals and three breakfasts and each meal was fantastic. I'm not sure if I'd head here from the city centre especially but you could do far worse

We have had a couple of excellent meals here, cooked by a chef who appears to have a considerable talent We have really enjoyed some stand out dishes. Can recommend without hesitation. Beer and wine quality is very good.

Ate here 3 nights running and was never disappointed. Very busy due to Eat Out to Help Out campaign but food was always very good served by happy smiling and helpful servers. Really enjoyed the whole experience

Literalmente, acabamos de dejar el restaurante después de que mi esposo me llevara a una comida antes de mi cumpleaños. Después de haberse mudado recientemente a Norwich, sentimos que hemos encontrado una joya aquí. La calidad y el sabor de la comida era inmenso, el personal era absolutamente perfecto y el restaurante en sí se sentía lujoso y relajado. 10/10 en todas las cuentas. Volveremos.

Una vez más, The George Hotel y Arlington nos hicieron sentir orgullosos. Una comida maravillosa, cocinada a la orden y muy sabrosa. La pechuga de pollo de salvia y cebolla con papas molidas y espinacas cremosas fue una buena elección que ambos disfrutamos. El desayuno a la mañana siguiente tenía un montón de opciones y era encantador y nos preparó para el día.

El Hotel George con el Arlington fue increíble. El personal era amable, servicial y todo parecía profesional. Las habitaciones eran hermosas, con toallas blancas y suaves y tenían una buena selección de tés y cafés. La cama era muy cómoda e impecable ropa de cama blanca. El bar y la zona del restaurante eran acogedoras, sillas fáciles para relajarse y la comida estaba limpia, caliente y el personal estaba feliz de ser flexible con las opciones de combinación. Volveremos si estamos de esa manera otra vez.

It’s a lovely pub, with a nice beer garden to the front. The last time I went their I had a gin and lemonade but it tasted more like lemonade then gin. However, the food we have had there has been good so would return!

Business trip for one night. The staff at reception and in the bistro were great and reallt helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The dinner in the bistro was reasonably priced and very tasty. Good portions too. Breakfast was also excellent.

Good for small conferences. Limited parking for large meetings. Staff were efficient but the buffet was lacking in originality

El restaurante es un ambiente de estilo bistró relativamente informal.La comida ha sido de excelente calidad, los filetes son particularmente buenos.El estacionamiento puede ser un poco apretado en las noches ocupadas, pero hay un estacionamiento al lado de la carretera cerca.El personal es realmente servicial y amable.

Fuimos a cenar con la familia, el restaurante estaba bastante concurrido los martes, el menú no es extenso, pero tiene una buena selección, el hotel está en remodelación, parece bastante bueno, la comida tardó unos 35 minutos, incluyendo una pechuga de pollo, que es justa. estaba caliente y sabroso y los postres eran bastante buenos, no está mal relación calidad-precio no puedo comentar en las habitaciones, etc. ya que no pasé la noche. . recomendaría cuando esté completamente reformado

Stayed once again at Hotel,so took evening meal and Breakfast in Arlington Grill Enjoyed 10oz Rib Eye for evening meal. AND full Englis breakfast. Service was good both evening and morning

Comí aquí como POR DESGRACIA me estaba quedando el Best Western Hotel adjunto. Sin embargo, este restaurante era el único Salvador! El personal era excelente y amable y la comida era fantástica!!! Todo era muy fresca y había opciones para vegetarianos en vez de las típicas opciones aburrido! El ambiente es un poco escaso, pero esto no significa toma de distancia de la gran comida!! Es una pena que está al lado de la Best Western, ya que probablemente no mucho mejor que un restaurante independiente!! Gracias por una cena :).

Had our wedding anniversary, vow renewal party at the George and the food was lovely. It was all served on time, was hot and everyone enjoyed it.

Habiendo roto en el coche aquí, tuvimos una excelente comida en un ambiente encantador. nos cuidaron por Lucy que fue muy agradable y acogedor. Ella es nuevo aquí pero tiene un buen enfoque, siempre sonriendo, amable y dispuesto y será un valor añadido a este hotel/restaurante. Julia también fue muy amable y nos dio mucha información. La sopa estaba bien, pero podría haber tenido un poco más sabor. La plaza tian de hortalizas era excelente; el cerdo y salmón eran de primera clase. Buenos vinos, aunque el blanco debe haber sido un poco más relajado.

Small but warm and comfortable restaurant with a cosy atmosphere. Delicious, fresh and well cooked food.

Second time in Norwich but first time in this restaurant. Good food, big portion and nice staff. Clean and safe. Not so busy on Wednesdays in January, so quick and correct service.

We used this a lot on our taste card last year. Service okay a bit traditional and stuffy although with quiet charm. Steaks and sausages all good, fish nicely cooked. Specials do not change much, and was only really good value with a tastecard. In...

At least it was clean. Practically empty on a Friday night. We all left part of our meal. Wine delivered and left to pour it yourself. Every question seemed like a bit of an effort really, how hard can a wheat free roll be? We were asked how our meal was after 30mins, and decided to pay on the way out as no one asked how we were after we'd finished. I can only assume all the staff were very busy with the 3 other customers, or wanted to be anywhere else.

Excellent food during our Christmas Stay and really catered for my gluten free needs. was our second visit for a Christmas break and would definitely return.

Most efficient staff , good atmosphere, although always busy especially at weekends , a good place to meet the local people

I stated here on business and the restaurant was empty bar about two other diners. I had the homemade Patê and bread which was very very good, the Patê and chutney were excellent and had a really good handmade feel. I had Cromer crab salad for a main and although the crab was a touch small it was well prepared and really tasty. Also worth mentioning that serving Adnams Pale Ale slightly chilled in summer is a great idea!

We were here for Saturday lunch the week-end of the festival. We were the ONLY people in the restaurant although the hotel was completely packed. The food here is great quality with excellent choices on the board. The pork stroganoff was delicious. The staff are patient (particularly as we were with the olds) and this restaurant has good access with ramps down any stairs so you can comfortably get to the bar and the loos without incident.

Food was excellent could not fault it one bit breakfast extremely good evening meal lovely reasonably priced serve outstanding can not fault the waiting on staff either

We stayed in the hotel attached to this restaurant, and we cannot fault the restaurant, the food was delicious and the staff were pleasant.

Recently went to The George. Should of expected this as previously attended an AGM meeting there a few months before and the chips were pretty tasteless. This time the meal there: Quantities small all the way through, melon -unexciting and little of it. Main- I'm not sure why i finished it, hunger?? Veg...boiled to boredom. Tiramisu.. Alright.. Yay, one success :)! Mince pies to finish- not even warmed, straight from the supermarket! I mean...come on! Microwave them atleast! Plus the service was a bit disinterested. Should not have gone back.

I stayed at the hotel in May with my girlfriend. We ate in the restaurant every night and it was honestly delicious. You get such great quality food and the prices aren't astronomical like some places in Norwich. I would highly recommend the steaks!

Please do not visit if you are in a hurry! The staff and atmosphere are very welcoming and despite the menu being a little limited the quality of our meal was excellent. Everything is freshly prepared and therefore takes time to prepare and cook and deliver to the table. It's the perfect location to have a catch up with friends and if you want a drink you can always stay over.

A no frill grill. But that's fine. Honest food, efficient service, functional surroundings, no problems. £55 for two people over three courses... plus drinks. Good for curing an empty stomach.

Myself and three others had lunch yesterday. This venue is a little gem - off the beaten track yet only five minutes from the centre of Norwich. The food was good and reasonably priced. The staff were attentive and friendly. The decor is easy on the eye. What more can I say? Its not the Ritz,but for a good meal at a reasonable price this is hard to beat.

I'm always looking to try different places to eat in Norwich, and the Arlington Grill just off the Newmarket Road is a great find, especially when you don't want the hassle of city centre parking.I recently met a few friends there for a drink and meal, and my expectations were more than met. Within the George Hotel, the restaurant and bar area are open to non-residents and make a good alternative to the "old favourites" in the area.The menu was long enough to offer something for most tastes, but not too lengthy. In my mind this is a good sign, as it means food is freshly prepared and cooked. On this occasion we all just had one course and coffee, but the starters sounded really appetising (I didn't look at the dessert menu). I had a Moroccan lamb dish, and my friends all had steak. The portions were good-sized, the meat was plentiful and tender, and everything was cooked just right and well presented. The staff were attentive,friendly and helpful without being in your face.Basically it's the sort of place you could feel comfortable going to with friends, family, a partner or colleagues.

Having never eaten before in the Arlington Grill, my friends and I didn't really know what to expect.....'What a wonderful treat and surprise!' This has to be one of the best steaks I have ever tasted, cooked to perfection! My friends had other dishes from the mouth watering selection on the menu and all had only good things to say. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff very helpful and professional. I have just reserved a table for next week with another group of friends! I can't wait!

The food was cooked fresh and it was good. The menu was a little limited but as we ate there a couple of nights we were well pleased. One small problem - the red cabbage with the lovely duck breast and delicious Lyonaise potatoes was pickled.

we were only staying at the George Hotel for one night and the weather was poor, so did not want to waste ages looking for somewhere to eat. There were only about a dozen people eating in the restaurant (football - bar snacks busier!) Very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Even though it was quite quiet, the atmosphere was still fine and the staff were friendly

Great breakfast and this was only meal ordered as I was visiting family over Christmas.
