The Ark and Plaice in Gravesham

It's Thursday 29th August and according to the Web information they open at 16.00. I went there at 16.45 pm and the roller security shutter firmly closed. Couldn't make a purchase so I cannot rate their food. Only gave one star overall so comment would get accepted.

Collected a ‘party order’ today and everyone enjoyed their food, not greasy, crispy fish, very friendly owner who couldn’t do enough to ensure we all enjoyed our meal. Can’t ask for better.

Tried this place today, was sceptical as I’m a bit of a foodie. The Fish was cooked fresh & to perfection, The batter was soft yet crispy with a nice Golden hue. The fish was pure White and came away in nice chunks when eating, A prime catch if you ask me. The chips were yet again very well cooked, golden & crispy with a soft inside, Both were neither under nor overcooked but just as you’d like it. There was very little flavour of oil in the food, Some other places reuse old oil and it ruins the flavour, This place definitely cares about what their customers are eating. The establishment itself was clean & smelled fresh, Visually it was well presented with a modern yet vintage feel, nice old school family owned shop. Not like a greasy chippie at all, The staff was very polite and well presented. The Prices were also fair for the quality of food. This is a local business you guys should support when thinking of your next take-away

I've been going to this fish and chip shop since opened some 20 years ago. I have tried others but nothing compares to this place! Friendly service and great tasting fish and chips, always cooked perfect 👌 never overcooked and never undercooked! The prices are good and the food is worth every penny! Give it a go, you won't regret it!

Disgusting paid £3 for a large portion of chips and there isn't even enough to feed the family (4) Will not be getting from there again don't waste your money!!!

Chips were old chips recooked why do chip shops do this it’s not a very good way to run there business Dover road chip shop every time

I came in friday and had a large cod and chips. Fish was superb and all cooked to order so its all fresh and still hot . Servise was lovely, very welcoming staff, will defniety be coming back again.

This fish and chips is owned by the owner of Valley Grill which on the same stretch. I was feeling lazy 1 Friday evening and decided to treat the family and friends we had staying with us to some fish and chips costing over £30 pounds the food was disgusting fish was fried in dirty oil which made my son who is asthmatic to have a coughing fit all night. I was so vexed that I went to the shop and complained about the food the next day to which the shop owner said that they fried their food in golden oil. Please if you want fish and chip stay away from this shop or you will learn the hard way as I have experienced , I always try to support my local businesses but this 1 is an absolute joke and all about the money.

Fish is always cooked to order, friendly staff. Very clean shop. Fish is always boxed so the batter never comes off or squashed. Ask in shop about Gluten Free Batter. Food is always tasty here.
