We've just had a lovely meal in The Arch. They atmosphere was very friendly and warm. Although busy their was an excellent flow and the service was very warm and the staff were brilliant, so helpful nothing was too much trouble As for the food it was excellent! It was cooked beautifully and the duck just melted in your mouth Will definitely be returning. Good value for money too.

Food was amazing, service was very good. Really enjoyed my night there.

We booked a party of 32 at the arch. I had great communication with the manager, organising our evening he was so helpful. The food was delicious and well presented. We had a banquet with being a large group, and there was plenty of food to go around. Service was 5* despite being so busy. We can't wait to return to the arch. Thank you.

Service terrible bored looking waitress. Food for the masses not for customers that actually no what food should look and taste like , over cooked tough chicken, pork that looked like it was going to make you sick and bland beef dish a very disappointing meal.

Went to the Arch Restaurant yesterday and had a truly lovely evening. Delicious food, superb service and immaculately clean. I hadn't visited it for a while as I'd lived out of the area but it's still as good as ever and I will definitely be going back soon! We had the set meal "A" for two which was such good value and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I strongly recommend this delightful restaurant.

Probably my favorite Chinese ever. Apart from the duck. Didn't like it. Everything else was spot on thought.

Great food, fresh and tasty. Packed out so recommend booking. Six of us dined and all really enjoyed it. There was a wait between dishes, but if you're with good company you don't mind, and at least you know everything is being prepared fresh. We will return.

On arrival always met with a warm welcome. We've been going this restaurant for many years. Max and his team make your dining experience memorable. The food is brought to you well presented and the portions are good value for money. They have a set menu which a lot of customers go for. Some customers swop the odd dish for another that they prefer which isn't a problem either. The restaurant is ideal for all the family I can't fault it. We leave feeling satisfied after good service great food and a couple glasses wine.

My wife and I went on 13/01/2024, where the chicken satay starter was tough to eat. When the egg fried rice came with the main, it was stone cold and had to be sent back. The chicken main with mongolian sauce, had very little veg, and the dish was over powered by raw chilli heat. The prawn crackers were cold and greasy. We both had the same two courses. I left most of mine. We shall not be going back.

I was there for a Work Christmas meal. The food is well prepped and cooked, it's typical British Chinese food, something for everyone on the set menus. We had a party of 14 and were treated to a number of courses that were lovely, no need to say I was in a food coma by the end of the night. Great bar choices and brilliant service. Pretty sure I'll be taking the family there soon.

I haven't been here for years, and I was so excited to return with my family and have a great meal. What can I say... A very warm welcoming and we were sat at our table, the chair looking very worn and old,.that didn't bother us we were looking forward to great food. Mixed started for two, not really enough for two and the food was so over fried, I could just taste the grease. The main was so dry, I had crispy beef in a nest, the best was so soggy and nothing about the dish was crispy. There are plenty of Chinese in Newcastle and I would imagine if these don't pick things up, customers will just go to other places.

A very nice meal with great company. A good atmosphere without canteen level noise.

Food was served very quick indeed. Under 10 mins for 2 adults. Noodle between us, main of Mongolian chicken and blackbean and green pepper chicken. Nice. 15 quid each Inc a drink

We went for my Father in laws 60th Birthday. We had set menu A. The food was all amazing from start to finish, lots of it, piping hot and super tasty! The service off the staff was fantastic. We had a great night.

Always been a fan of the arch but not been for a while. Last week had a takeaway but thus week decided to visit . Always a warm welcome from max and his team. The lady who worked there for long time sorry don't know her name is an asset to the arch nothing to much trouble for her. The set menu is and always has been good value for money . We arrived at 5 tonight by half past the tables started fill up. Left full having eaten too quality food and the service second to none. Can't fault it.

Poor quality frozen food. BBQ spare ribs were skinny, dry and tasteless. Satay chicken skewers served with a cold satay dip ???

Brought my partner here for a romantic meal. We were greeted by a member to book in. Got a couple of drinks from the bar, and then we were shown to our table. The staff that we had dealings with were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The food was out of this world. And great value for money. There was a good verity of dishes for vegetarians also. Will definitely be back for more

We go to the Arch on a regular basis and recently attended for my husbands 70th. The staff at the Arch are excellent and despite the restaurant being incredibly busy (no surprise there!) we were attended to all evening without interruption of service, not having to wait long for the food to arrive at the table. There were children in our group of 11 and all were catered for, so don't worry if you have little ones. A lovely touch at the end of our evening was cake and ice cream and a Happy Birthday. If you are to have an event in your family, please consider attending the Arch because you really cannot go wrong. The food was full of flavour, which is what we all want, and the ambience and comfort is lovely. We will always return to the Arch.

A very nice place to meet friends for a meal together. Can be a bit noisy so not good for people that wear hearing aids. I can recommend the crispy fillet of beef in a sweet and sour chilli sauce.

First time went with people from work was really fab we all really enjoyed food

The food was good but the service was appalling! There was over a fifteen minute wait from the time the first meal was brought out to the last one. We've never known a service like it. The pudding menu was woefully bad with a very limited offering. We won't be visiting again

My partner took his son there for a meal yesterday and was not impressed with the service at all, the staff were not very helpful and he was over charged on the food without charges made to the bill to reflect that will not be going back there again. We so not recommend at all

Food is quite good. But why do the staff never seem to know much about the food. Also there's a line of chairs and spare tables hanging around which make the restaurant look a bit like a furniture storeroom

Walked past here for years, never visited, but that changed the other week. Menu isn't massive, but it's interesting such as the Duck in Crab Meat Sauce (it was delicious). Nice wines, everyone in the group was extremely pleased with their food. Good value. Lovely service too. Fully recommend it.

An absolute fantastic experience of Chinese food at a top quality restaurant. I went with four friends for a birthday night and we were not disappointed. The food and service was of top quality and the two boof red wine we had were also good quality wines. The staff are all lovely and friendly. It's a beautiful clean restaurant. I can't fault it in any way, shape or form. A must for Chinese food lovers. 👍👍

Very friendly and welcoming. On Tuesday evening it wasn't too busy which was good. They let us adapt one of their set meals which we thoroughly enjoyed, can't wait to go back.

Always friendly and accomodating even through these most difficult times during Covid. Max (owner) ably assisted by Anna, runs a very efficient restaurant . The food is always fresh and plentiful.

Average .. which is unusual as always excellent

We visited recently for a family Birthday and had a predictably good meal - the Sweet and Sour Chicken is always a winner. The soup, which is normally excellent, felt a touch under-seasoned and the ribs, again which normally are a standout were perhaps a bit over-crispy and lacking meat. Our mains were lovely though, a tender beef chow mein and the aforementioned sweet and sour. I've deducted a star as there was confusion with our order, missing sides and forgotten requests etc, the staff seemed somewhat new so while I'm inclined to let them off, it is a bit annoying to have to ask three times for something to be brought while the other food has already arrived. Having said that, it's a very good Chinese restaurant and whilst Saturday wasn't quite up to their usual lofty 5 star standards, we will be back and I'm sure the service will once again match what it used to, when a bit more experience is gained by the new wait staff.

Had a set meal for 2, starter was lovely but the main was a bit bland. Customer service was excellent, would go back.

First visit back post-lockdowns to this old local favourite with a large family group to celebrate my wife’s birthday and the fact that finally we can all get together with some form of normality, and what a delight! Great food, lovely atmosphere, attentive service and what felt like a Covid friendly environment led to a lovely evening that the whole party enjoyed. We will, as ever, be returning!

What a lovely restaurant, somewhere we've dined countless times down the years and often a family member's choice when we've an occasion to dine out for. Lovely staff, always attentive and welcoming, alongside the manager/owner who really does make sure you're catered for and makes you feel well looked after, without ever being intrusive. The food is excellent and the portions really generous, which is great for big eaters. As much as I like to try new things, their soup is so good and the sweet and sour chicken phenomenal, I always end up being too tempted by it! We've tried pretty much every Chinese you'd care to mention round Stoke, Crewe, Nantwich and even in Chinatown in Manchester. The Arch is genuinely better than them all and decent value to boot. Never lets us down.

Good quality food, friendly staff, decent size portions and at a reasonable price too. The tofu was cooked perfectly. The only possible downside I could think of was that the Szechuan was a little too spicy for my partner but I thought it was fine. Would definitely recommend this restaurant over other competitors in the area.

My family and I have been going here as our exclusive Chinese restaurant for 20+ years. In that timeframe the quality has remained superb. If you can I'd recommend the in house dining experience as the staff are always very welcoming and attentive (even when we used to dine in festive periods!). The takeaway (we order and collect regularly) food quality is certainly on par with the dine-in experience. However, just be careful not to let it go cold! I fully understand and respect their decision to close during lockdown and tier 3 restrictions. I am eagerly awaiting when we can go there again.

We recently had another meal at the arch, we have eaten regularly there for many years, the food is always excellent. But what l am really impressed with at the moment is the effort Max and his team is making to keep us and his staff safe during the Covid pandemic, social distancing is paramount, one way walking routes, number of tables reduced to allow plenty of space between diners, all staff wearing masks and gloves, tables, chairs sanitized between guests. So good to see when so many other restaurants are not following government guidelines, and are using the government £10 deal as an excuse to cram as many people into their restaurants as they can with no regard to peoples safety. I hope when the August offer has finished people continue to support the Arch restaurant and enjoy the delicious food they serve, because they really do deserve our custom they are trying so hard to ‘do it right’ WELL DONE THE ARCH

We visited a couple of weeks ago and had one of the Set Menus for 2. Once again the quality of the food was outstanding - best chinese food around. Friendly staff.

Visited this Chinese restaurant for my birthday on the 7th August... friendly staff, amazing food...all hot food...very clean place to say the least, been here last year and thought i would try it again...good decision...best Chinese around.
