Disgusting in every way. The service was a joke, out jacket potatoe was served on a tea plate it was cold and disgusting, we didn’t eat any of it, my grandsons food was appalling and it was so over priced for the awful disgusting food we had, the tables were filthy from previous customers, the list is endless, what an absolute waste of money and certainly won’t be going again

This is a really comfortable, good cafe. It was the first time I'd been. The staff were friendly and helpful. The coffee was good and the muffin I had was delicious. They do a larger menu too.

Our group of 3 all enjoyed our breakfasts, which were excellent value. The large portion which cost £8 came with extra food plus a free hot drink. Friendly pleasant service.

Visited the arboretum and came across the cafe, lovely old building with indoor and outdoor seating. Best of all dog friendly! Small but clean, staff very friendly, menu cakes, English cooked breakfast, baked potatoes, hot baps. Good selection of drinks, large toilet with baby changing, not sure how a wheelchair would access it as it’s narrow to turn. All visitors talked to each other so good atmosphere, A credit to staff and owners.

Such a wonderful building and small but charming interior inside, however the jacket potato was hard and dry (no butter despite requested) and the tuna mayo was incredibly fishy and smelly… might have been past it’s time, it was a weird texture. However a part from that it is lovely.

I had not visited Nottingham Arboretum since before lockdown when l would take a relaxing wander. Back then if you wanted refreshments and ice lollies you would have to bring them yourself. To my surprise when l stopped off for a wander today l found the Arboretum cafe inside the former groundskeepers cottage. Bedecked with flowers you can dine inside in a warm and cosy room with photographs of the Arboretum on the wall. In another room is the serving counter and foods. This is a far cry to the former equipment filled hut of yesteryear. There are 5 tables inside and another 9 or so outside and on a lovely day like today its a an ideal place to refresh your self. Serving teas, coffees and soft drinks you can enjoy scones and jam or a very large slice of cake with cream. The choice of cake l was to choose from were all triple layered, Victoria sandwich, coffee and walnut, radpberry and white chocolate and lemon. The slice you are served takes up the whole plate, its light moist and flavourful and homemade to boot. Other foods available are All day breakfasts, beans on toast, eggs on toast, sausage or bacon cobs and full English. You can also buy a Sunday lunch here as well as ciabatta and panini, salads, ploughman's, jacket potatoes and burgers. Although a few pence more than the local Wetherspoons the atmosphere is much nicer and the staff friendlier. The cafe had been open about a year and seems to have a good turnover of customers which says to me that it is popular and popular speaks volumes especially if the food is good. Located right next to the main entrance on Waverley Street it could be called a hidden gem but its not hidden but it is still a gem and a good one at that.

Called in on a Sunday afternoon for a take away drink. Staff members were very pleasant, but I was underwhelmed by my drink. The cup was tiny and hardly worth the £2.50 price and the hot chocolate was warm rather than hot.

My fiance and I visited the cafe this morning as part of a walk around the park before heading back home. We dropped into the cafe for a coffee and couldn't resist choosing a couple of cakes to take with us (biscoff muffin and lemon cake). Staff were super friendly and recommended other parks to check out. The cakes were gorgeous!! Highly recommend this place to visitors and residents!

I came in to the cafe almost two weeks ago. I was amazed at the offerings on display and the menu choices. The coffee is great and full English breakfast cooked by I think was the owner (Rachel) was beautiful and such fantastic value for money. The lady who served me Sarah, had impeccable customer service. Nothing was too much trouble. It was raining but they were so welcoming with smiles and I would love for both of them to front my restaurant if only it was in Nottingham I would hire them in a heart beat. If I could give more stars I would. Quality cooked food and service makes a business and they have this down to a T. Well done girls. I will be back soon.

Stopped in on my way home to grab something to takeaway. The brownie I got was delicious and there was a wide range of food and drink options. Great little café.

Whilst on a 2 day break decided to visit the Nottingham Arboretum which is beautiful, well worth a visit.. But the hidden Gem was the arboretum cafe, you must visit. Lovely clean premises, family owned, staff very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. ^ Plenty of choice on the menu, from breakfast, to cakes to lunches... Very reasonable prices, large portions. Seating inside and outside. Highly recommended..

My twin brother Stephen and I were up bright and early on a Tuesday morning and after breakfast at The Gooseberry Bush Pub ( Wetherspoon ) we headed to The Arboretum, before wandering around this green oasis of calm we dropped into Arboretum Cafe for a coffee and what a great start to our day out. A lovely cafe, cosy, nice decor and furnishings including plenty of seating options spread throughout this cafe both inside and outside looking out onto the beautiful Arboretum . A very pleasant member of the staff took our order of a cappuccino coffee each, we sat outside and after a short wait our coffee's arrived steaming hot, we just kicked back, chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our coffee's. My coffee was really good, from the first sip till the last sup you can tell they use quality ingredients in their coffee and take great pride in the coffee they serve. We really enjoyed our coffee's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to Arboretum Cafe we were totally impressed. Arboretum Cafe is easy to locate along Arboretum Street in the grounds of The Arboretum. Most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

I have been going to the cafe since its opened. Its in a quaint lodge building just off Waverley Street. Its seen some changes, originally had a different team running it. However the new owners do a great job in pushing it forward. Sometimes it can get busy there and if one person is running it you have to be a little patient. How could it improve ? Maybe more staff when its busy. However they always have time for me and i always enjoy their drinks food and snacks. I must say i have missed going to the Arboretum and the cafe during the pandemic lockdown.

Called here on Sunday with my friend. We went in and the staff was in the prep area in the room next to where you went in.We could see her and she knew we were there but never acknowledged we were there in the 10 mins waiting for her doing some toast or simular.Shw went past to take the food out but still never acknowledged us.Then making our 2 cups of coffee she interupted some other people who had come in and was rude telling them there is only 1 size of drink. Her manor was very abrupt and didnt make you feel welcome at all it was as if it was too much trouble. The drinks were fine. The toilet is flat and handy for disabled.Nice seating area outside to sit and drink in the nice weather.Just a shame about the member of staff.Sorry if this offends but needs to be said but i feel this lady isnt doing the cafe any good at all.

Pleasant, clean little cafe with a seating area outside - unfortunately there was a strong smell of cleaning fluid from the portable loo. Basic choices of snack food. Have been twice this week attending functions. Didn't find the staff very friendly. Sorry!

At age 72, good coffee has been a lifelong love. With its distinctive lime green livery you cannot miss this little gem of a business on Nottingham's Heathcote Street. Effy serves quite simply the best coffee I have ever had.

A spacious and warm place, where the decor reflects their passion for creating an excellent café experience.
