The Arboretum Cafe in Nottingham

An excellent cook and assistant work there. Their services and products are of very high quality.

Hardly any GF options available, only brownie and jacket potatoes. Apparently they close next week and don't have any stock left, which is disappointing. The staff are lovely and nice location but if GF like me, then suggest you eat somewhere else beforehand as there isn't anywhere else to eat in the area

Lovely building and location, with great service, very nice vegan options, and really good prices! My only wish would be for the vegan options to be listed on the main menu, but they have plenty of options- you just need to ask. They have vegan sausages, cheese, ham, cobs, jacket potatoes, and a few vegan cakes.

I don't often have coffee out but I really wanted one so I gave this place a try and was very pleasantly surprised. Excellent location, lovely staff and good coffee. What more could I ask.. Recommended.

Seriously nice place Small but in the better weather can eat outside Bought a sausage roll, bottle of coke and a biskoff cake, whole thing If I remember was £7.50 pretty decent tbh. Hopefully 1 day I'll sample a roast beef dinner on a Sunday but have been told its dependent upon who is working . Would've sent pictures of my meal but was too busy eating it. 😋😁😆had a sausage and egg sandwich today, was amazing. Definitely sausage and egg cob tho 😋 👌. I've noticed it's ipen again (it closes in winter)

Wonderful experience, the staff are fantastic. I had the coconut and raspberry cake, it was delicious and one of the best cakes I've had in a long time, I hadnt long had breakfast so i couldn't finish the cake and a very kind lady that worked there offered to box my remaining cake up for me and I enjoyed it when I got home. The service is the best, both ladies that were working were very kind, polite, helpful ,considerate and went above and beyond (i think both ladies were called sarah if im not mistaken) The atmosphere is very relaxed and pleasant and the prices are very good. I'm definitely returning and I'd recommend it to everyone.

Lovely cafe but it's a bit hit and miss as to whether it's open or not!!! I walk around the Arboretum every lunchtime and some days it's open some days it's closed.

Lovely food and atmosphere but they can't add up! Had two lots of egg on toast (£4 each) and two drinks (an Americano at £2.20 and a tea at £2.50) and was charged £15. When I questioned this I was told the drinks added up to £6 and was offered 40p change in response. None of this was right. Owner could not have done more to put this right. Would definitely recommend. Excellent customer service.

We visited after my wife posted a review with some feedback & the owner reached out to apologise. It was my first visit & the food & coffee were excellent, both value for money plus fresh & tasty. I'd definitely recommend & I will visit again. Additionally, it's a Dog Friendly Cafe.

Excellent cafe at the lower end of the Arboretum near the lake. This is so welcome as for years there was none.

I had not visited Nottingham Arboretum since before lockdown when l would take a relaxing wander. Back then if you wanted refreshments and ice lollies you would have to bring them yourself. To my surprise when l stopped off for a wander today l found the Arboretum café inside the former groundskeepers cottage. Bedecked with flowers you can dine inside in a warm and cosy room with photographs of the Arboretum on the wall. In another room is the serving counter and foods. This is a far cry to the former equipment filled hut of yesteryear. There are 5 tables inside and another 9 or so outside and on a lovely day like today its a an ideal place to refresh your self. Serving teas, coffees and soft drinks you can enjoy scones and jam or a very large slice of cake with cream. The choice of cake l was to choose from were all triple layered, Victoria sandwich, coffee and walnut, raspberry & white chocolate and lemon. The slice you are served takes up the whole plate, its light moist and flavourful and homemade to boot. Other foods available are All day breakfasts, beans on toast, eggs on toast, sausage or bacon cobs and full English. You can also buy a Sunday lunch here as well as ciabatta and panini, salads, ploughman's, jacket potatoes and burgers. Although a few pence more than the local Wetherspoons the atmosphere is much nicer and the staff friendlier. The café had been open about a year and seems to have a good turnover of customers which says to me that it is popular and popular speaks volumes especially if the food is good. Located right next to the main entrance on Waverley Street it could be called a hidden gem but its not hidden but it is still a gem and a good one at that.

This place is giving autumn Gilmore girls rain on a window tumblr 2014 vibe. This is the highest of compliments in my opinion. The iced coffee is genuinely the most delicious substance I’ve ever consumed!!! I would have my ashes spread here

My first time here and what a wonderful time I had. I ordered the burger and chips which was so filling and of good quality. It's a quaint spot with a great little yard attached. The owner Sarah is a lovely, chatty lady and told me it's a new family venture. I wish you good luck with it. The other young guy serving was very sweet and attentive. It attracts a good mix of folk and is very safe and comfortable. The food is gorgeous and caters for different dietary needs. I must try the yummy looking cakes in the future. 🧁🍰🎂☕

Beautiful little place which was open on a Sunday. Lovely cakes and brilliant staff. Definitely made our little outing more enjoyable. It had a full size disabled toilet, no steps and I would recommend to everyone.

Went there today, the staff was lovely and the food cery tasty. The portions are massive and I could not finish my plate. Would recommend and would also visit again!

An old lady panicking trying to serve ice cream. In her haste gave me nothing more then scrapings not even 2 scoops v each for £6 if your staff can't cope and treat customers with respect, please don't employ them!!!!

A delightful little café in the old gatehouse at the bottom of the Arboretum. Great selection of light bites and tempting cakes. Plenty of outdoor seating along with a few tables inside.

So nice,we went twice in a day. Parked in the park&ride site,and walked into Nottingham via the Arboretum where we had our 1st visit to the cafe. Inside&outside seating,good variation of food&drinks at value for money prices.Carried on and did a 14kstep tour of Nottingham city centre and on the way back,went to the cafe again for coffee & a cheeseburger.Very friendly staff & nothings too much trouble.Well worth a visit.

Best place to Relax in Nottingham.

This is an ideal place to eat relax and enjoy. There's also some birds that have been here a long time. The paths and trees lend a pleasant ambiance to the location.

A lovely place, inside or out & lovely new owners. Good food at a very good price, just what you need after a walk round the Arboretum. Will definitely be back.

A beautiful park, and they even have an aviary and a cafe of course.

Nice place for a snack and reasonable prices. Go round the Arboretum after and see the birds etc, especially nice on a warm summers day.

The guy who works here is amazingly friendly, I have been a customer here for over a year and he has always made me welcome. I highly recommend this place to anybody who is visiting or is living in Nottingham.

The Arboretum is close to the centre of Nottingham and the cafe is a welcome venue for refreshments. A good place to visit while in Nottingham.

I went here for the first time yesterday with a friend. It's a small cafe but has everything you could want. There's a range of drinks (hot and cold) and snacks. For a park cafe, it does what it needs to. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The decor inside is lovely, and the napkins / sugar / sweeteners etc. are easily found in the main indoor seating part. The cafe is just to the right of the entrance, but is right next to the tram tracks, so if you're sitting outside it will be noisy just when they go by. Staff were friendly. I had a pot of tea (£1.50) and it was very nice, and well worth the price. I had two cups, but still had plenty left over, so you could easily get 4 cups out of the pot. Would definitely go again in future.

Excellent iced coffee, Barista very good. No ice cream today. Vegan flapjack tasty. Environment very good, nice tables and chairs inside and out. I have always thought the house was a derelict building. Now brought back to life and rejuvenated.

Unfortunately this cafe is no longer the little gem that it was. Until recently the cafe was a busy, buzzing place full of students, dog walkers or simply people enjoy a pot of tea after a stroll in the park. However, since the cafe was taken over by new management the charm of the cafe has completely disappeared. The cafe has been stripped back completely and is still without an oven. There is very little hot food as a consequence. Indeed, even a hot pot of tea can be served in cups without saucers as there are insufficient numbers to match the two together. Once loyal customers no longer visit and the cafe now feels empty and unloved. The new owners really need to invest some love and attention in the cafe if they want to make it shine like the jewel it once was.

Expensive, half a cup cappacino and Luke-warm!

Welcoming customer service.Great view but indoor there is little space..only 4 small tables so it can feel very packed.Outdoor seating is way better.It's a dog friendly cafe .

Decent local cafe in a lovely park

Had some cake and tea. The cake was amazing.

Love this place and they have the best coffee, nice view of the park too with bird feeders just outside the window adding ectra interest. Not eaten there so can't comment on food but did get a free cake taster last time we were there and it was delicious.
