Absolutely brilliant. It is a Family run business.The Sunday roast tastes just like home cooking. Full of flavour, good portions.

Along with 5 people dining in, I ordered 2 takeaway to deliver to family unable to attend.. I was specifically asked by a waitress who came to our table if I wanted 3 meats on the takeaway, yes please i did!. Only to find 1 meat, when delivered. ?

Had a lovely Sunday lunch today at the Apple Tree. Lovely place in a great setting right on the edge of gosfield lake. Sunday lunch is served as a carvery with lots of choice. 3 meats, roast and mash potatoes, stuffing, pigs in blankets and loads of veg. Deserts were lovely again with a nice selection of dishes. Very friendly family run restaurant with a great atmosphere. Nice outside space with tables and seating. Will definitely go back again. A hidden gem.

Lovely little restaurant right on the lake. Food was lovely, and service was fantastic too. Highly recommended you try this restaurant. Prices really good too, at least 20% cheaper than everywhere else. 👍

Lovely quiet place, great service and a great view of the lake. The outside area is a nice place to sit and let your kids run around. Food is fresh and tasty

First time having breakfast as usually have Sunday roast and it was delicious. My husband had the full English and I had the 4 item breakfast and we both had 2 hot drinks. Fantastic value for money and excellent service as always.

First time we'd ever been here.wasnt quite what we expected when we pulled up in the car park but once we were inside the views were stunning. The food we had was lovely and very reasonably priced.will deffinately be going back,especially for the evening view

Definitely a hidden gem. The best food that I have had in a long time! And the service is definitely 5 star, they couldn’t have been anymore helpful and so friendly. All topped off with the best view! We are definitely going to be regulars!

Have been here many times. Every meal was made with care and the service is excellent. When the weather is kind it's an added bonus to have a drink in the pretty garden and watching the water skiing.

Went there for our Xmas meal/disco. Food was so good. & staff very friendly, & helpful. Highly recommend it.

Had a lovely Sunday roast here for £10.50 a head. Great value, plenty of food! My cousin said the breakfasts are good here as well. In the summer you can sit outside & look out over the lake. Nice friendly staff as well.

Came here for Sunday lunch, we were made very welcome. Very reasonably priced, the food was delicious and plentiful. All the staff were lovely and very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would be a great place to visit over the summer with views over the lake. We will definitely be returning and very soon.

Good food ,good value ,well worth a visit .

After driving home for 5 hours we decided to pop to The Apple Tree for a take away for dinner. They had curry ok as specials and happily did them as a take away. The chicken Madras was absolutely the best I have ever had, beautiful flavours mixed with spice and a creeping heat. If you haven’t visited this wonderful family run restaurant then I wholeheartedly recommend that you do. A wonderfully welcoming atmosphere and the most beautiful food. Thank you so much guys.

We absolutely love The Apple Tree and visit as often as we can either on our own or with the children, family or friends. The team are always so friendly and accommodating, the location is beautiful and the food is great and such amazing value too!

From the moment our party of 12 arrived yesterday to the time we left we were really well looked after. Amazing Sunday lunch and service at a very reasonable cost. No wonder the Apple Tree is always fully booked.

The Apple Tree was highly recommended by one of our locals. We visited yesterday evening for our first time. Highly recommend booking. Lovely decorated small restaurant. The staff were very friendly and fast service. I asked if they did cocktails because nothing was on the menu but gave me a selection of choice for what they do. The food was lovely and very reasonable price. Me and my husband left very satisfied and full. We hope to return again soon for our birthdays. Or if we nice enough we will bring our children. They even had a menu selection for the children. Again looked very reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit.

Large group of 30 odd and the service was fantastic! Friendly, smiling staff that genuinely cared, a real pleasure to visit with a wonderful group. No doubt we will all be back again.

Lovely place to eat with friends

During a camping weekend away with some friends and despite being last orders of the day, the service was incredible! Kindly moved us inside as it got dark and cold, the food was utterly divine and the staff treated us teenagers like proper adult gentlemen, super restaurant!

We went for breakfast on Sunday the breakfast is very good value for what you get. The only disappointing thing was food not hot just warm, cold plates and coffee tasted like instant.

Just had my first lockdown takeaway and I liked it a lot. Fish and chips with peas and tartare sauce, all for £7.95.The fish was tasty and moist, the chips just right. I'll be back.

Such a hard day for our family saying Goodbye to our loved one but the Wake at the Apple tree was so peaceful and delicious ,gave us so much quality time THANK YOU x

Fantastic little restaurant with very friendly and welcoming staff. Went on a Sunday when they have their carvery station which was simply great - you can built the ultimate Sunday roast for just £9. Amazing value and all of the food was really delicious. Garden is directly on the lakefront (although behind a bit of a fence). Parking was very limited.

A really lovely meal for my birthday. Beautiful surroundings and staff lovely friendly and helpful. Lots to chose from with veg and good quality meat. Also do dumplings with the roast which I have never seen at a carvery before, great touch. Will highly recommend anyone try here.

Have to give this lovely family run eating place a 5 star with friendly staff and most likely the best breakfast in Essex. They do a fried slice and this instantly brought back child hood memories. Well worth a visit with views over Goldfield lake.

Was fortunate to visit for the first time on the Indian buffet night, and was not disappointed! The food was delicious and constantly replenished. The views of the lake are lovely and the staff very attentive. Will definitely be visiting again!

Small but nice. Set next to the lake where you can sit outside looking over the lake. Small but nice bar with a good selection. I ate from bbq, but all food was great.

We went to The Apple Tree to celebrate my wife's 40 birthday. The staff were very friendly, bending over backward to make the evening very enjoyable provide great friendly service and wonderful food. Within our party there were a number of children, but the patience shown to them and the welcome they received was perfect. We will definitely be returning in the near future, as we hear the Sunday lunches are brilliant. Thank you to all at The Apple Tree for a fantastic evening.

Cracking little Restaurant. Was hired to lay on a Gin Tasting Night here a few weeks back. The Team and the vibe was brilliant. You can tell people love spending time here. The food looked really good too. Thanks for having me guys.

Went for Sunday lunch carvery, superb friendly place with lashings of great food. Choice of three meats which were cooked perfectly all homecooked. Will definitely be eating there again.
