The Antrobus Arms in Wiltshire

Ate here whilst staying at the hotel. Strange ambience, they would be better in their own smaller premises. The staff however were friendly and attentive. The menu standard Thai fare. Couldn't fault the food, well cooked, flavoured and presented . Prices average for the area.

We were away on short break in Amesbury and went into Antrobus hotel where the Siam Smile Thai restaurant is . We were a party of 6 adult and can honestly say we were all blown away . The food was amazing. We visit Thai restaurant often and this was one of the best meals in a Thai restaurant we have all experienced. The food was outstanding . The staff were friendly and helpful. Service perfect . Ambience was lovely . You could see the effort and hard work they have put into the restaurant. Would highly recommend.

We held a double 80th Birthday celebration in the restaurant. It was superb. Family members were raving about the food the next day. It was piping hot, delicious and the service wonderfully friendly and attentive. We took our own birthday cake in and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Can't recommend Siam Smile in Amesbury enough. We always enjoy eating there. It's probably the best around for vegetarians too.

Siam Smile serves authentic Thai food, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was amazing, the customer service was amazing and the owner Joy is Amazing. Thank you for having us.. we will be back again.

A lovely meal in a very pleasant, relaxing and traditional dining room. Service was very good and the food dishes ( vegetable spring rolls/ prawns on toast/ duck tamirino, Aubergine panang /egg fried rice) were all excellent.

I’ve eaten here twice. Both times the food has been wonderful. It is really really tasty. The setting is lovely and the hotel has a wonderful ambiance. The service is slow. For me it was on both occasions and I would prefer it to be a bit quicker. Saying that, it wouldn’t stop me returning because it’s such a nice place to be with lovely staff and delicious food. I will return and look forward to doing so.

We had the pleasure of feasting here early December. The food was spicy, tasty and delicious. Also the owner was an interesting lady and we engaged her to a conversation, which she obliged. Will be back when we visit the area!

Visited on a Monday night and enjoyed the relaxed and personal atmosphere. The staff are attentive and helpful with how the menu works and what to order - £19.99pp for buffet A La cart menu, my personal favourite was Beef Pad Bai Krapraw - real punchy flavours of garlic, chilli and Thai basil. Can’t wait to come again!

A really lovely all round experience from start to finish. Set within the fascinating Antrobus Arms Hotel, once host to The Beatles and a real time capsule, Siam Smile was such a treat. Fantastic customer service, so welcoming and attentive. By chance we were there on a Wednesday which is when they offer a buffet. For £19.99 you get a feast. I had to have 2 helpings of the Tom Yum soup it was so delicious. As has been said before, this restaurant is a real gem.

Lovely lunch and hostess Joy. Great for a fixed price extensive menu 2 course lunchtime meal or for a nice/romantic special evening dinner. So tasty, and can recommend the deep fried ice cream for sweet amongst the other offerings.

We enjoyed a very reasonably priced and scrummy lunch in this lovely restaurant which has been redecorated. It was so lovely to be welcomed back by Joy the owner who couldn't do enough for us. My husband enjoyed his Tom Yum soup and recommended chicken dish and I had chicken satay and vegetarian (no tofu) Pad Thai. Try the home made deep fried ice cream, amazing. All the food was fresh, hot and beautifully presented. We will be back soonand not leave it so long next time. Thank you.

Went for dinner with my partner and we had the buffet a la carte menu, it was fantastic, as much of as many dishes as we wanted, and it was all delicious! If you have tried the Tom Yum Soup you need to! The staff were also so lovely and couldn’t be more helpful explaining everything and all the dishes if needed.

This Thai is an absolute Gem! Tucked away in a hotel the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble and the food.. of the food! This is one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to! Yes the dexor could do with an uplift, but you can forgive that just from the culinary experience! Fantastic

Ordered take away not had a Thai for ages and was really looking for to dinner. Complete lack of flavour poorly seasoned in both red and green curry, hardly any meat couldn't eat it. Rice was really solid and placed inside plastic bags then in plastic containers so not great for environment either. Never again.

We ordered takeaway and everything was watery. The Thai green curry was luminous green, the massaman curry was bright orange, the beef rock hard. It# the 2 takeaway we’ve had and even with a £25 Just Eat voucher it wasn’t worth it.

I decided to try Siam Smile as a takeaway as a bit of a change to the normal Chinese or fish and chips. I’d been to the restaurant for a sit in service a couple of times previously so was quite looking forward to it. Whilst the food was nice and tasty, I was disappointed with a number of things. I’d order mixed starters for three but there were only two chicken satay, not three. I’d ordered plain noodles which said on the menu they came with noodles, carrot and spring onion. In this case it was literally plain noodles; no carrot or spring onion and no seasoning at all. Finally, the size of portions was very disappointing. Having paid over £60 for starters, three dishes, a plain rice and plain noodles, I really expected it to be better. I won’t be ordering takeout from them again.

Lovely takeout food both times we have ordered. Very hot and very tasty - both times we have got a variety of items and always lovely.

Joy and her team always make you feel welcome, we love the variety on the menu and although we only visit once or twice a year we are remembered. Always eat here when we visit amesbury.

We decided to eat out ( to help out!) but original choice was full, so we tried the Siam Smile on Monday. Although we had not booked, we were found a table , although the restaurant was quite busy. The service was very good and the meal was great: Thai prawn crackers and vegetable spring rolls to start with , then the beef in oyster sauce ( Nua Pad Namman Hoy) and stir fried mixed vegetables ( Pad Pak Ruam) with egg fried rice.The surroundings are lovely and it was a most enjoyable meal, accompanied by tiger beer ( other drinks avaliable at the main bar of the Antrobus Hotel).Thank you to the government scheme we had the benefit of 50% off the meals too!

Wow, this place! We found this restaurant by chance after being let down else where. The staff found us a table quickly and efficiently and the atmosphere was lovely. The food is delicious! I've lived in Asia and spent a lot of time in Thailand and it's hard to find food here that tastes like it does out there but this place has it down to a tee! It was so authentic, the taste and the presentation was as if I was back out there! The tom yum soup (my favourite dish ever) was beautiful and the massaman curry..... yum!!!!! Joy was the nicest lady who made you feel so welcome, was very chatty and always with a huge smile on her face which is contagious! Will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone looking for a real taste of Thailand!

The food was not great. We expected better portions. The beef didn’t taste very good and the chicken sweet and sour was just roasted chicken with sauce on the side ( I didn’t expect that) the pork was ok but the sauce not as expected again, a bit watery. The duck sauce was nice and the meat seem a bit dry or overcooked. the noodles tasted a bit stale or from the day before. The prawn crackers were whether from night before or overcooked but they were brown. So really Not happy Expected better for the price we paid. I knew it would be expensive But thought I would taste better. However the service as a takeaway was great and taking the order was prompt but they forgot two items I ordered. The fried rice was nice Hopefully this helps

After the tour of Amesbury History Center, this is a very good option, the food delicious, the atmosphere was good, the service very good, and the prices relatively high but it is worth paying for the delicious food, thanks for the attention we will see you soon.

We ate on a tuesday which was quiet. The lady who served us was really nice and very attentive. The food was gorgeous and came quickly. Starters were a perfect size. The food is exquisite and Liza Marshall entertains with her amazing musical talent. Joy the proprietor, is the manifestation of everything thing you may have heard about Thai hospitality. Tried this little gem for the first time on Friday 1st November 2019, I shall be coming back a lot more the food was absolutely fantastic and the staff were lovely with a warm friendly smile and great service. All at a very reasonable price.

We enjoyed an excellent evening meal of buffet choices. The service was very good, the dining room of the former coaching inn ( Antrobus Arms hotel , a Georgian hotel?) was very pleasant, crisp and clean white cloths, table napkins etc and the background music was quietly atmospheric and not intrusive at all. Everything was beautifully served and staff polite and attentive.

Starters and mains came out at all different times for different people. Mains for one person came out almost 10 minutes later than the others. Quality of food poor, made worse by the fact we were given the wrong item for one of the mains, and then told that we ordered something different (we didn’t). Only one chef available on a Saturday night, was told that food took so long (hour between starters and mains) because they had a lot of takeaways. Considering there were only 4 tables of customers this was not a good excuse.

We came as a large group. It did take a while to get served, but once we did, we were not disappointed. We all chose the buffet menu which was great value (especially if you were going to choose the curry anyway), we had a great night and it was very reasonabke priced.

Stumbled across Siam while having an overnighter at the Travelodge. Based inside a hotel (which looks a little 'tired' from the outside) but the restaurant itself is well presented. Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was excellent, and good portion size and reasonably priced to boot. Will certainly visit again next time we're in the area.

Quick visit here to catch up with family who were working in the local area. We all ordered the buffet menu for £16.95pp and have to say the food was absolutely delicious. We all enjoyed it immensely as all being thai food lovers.

Hi This is another odd place to review as things were pretty hit or miss but having said that the food was excellent.

Very friendly and helpful service in a pretty room with linen tablecloths. They were unfazed when we changed our minds when ordering several times. I recommend the crispy duck with tamarind sauce - fresh and tasty. My hubby had the red chicken curry which he thoroughly enjoyed. Good value, great food and Joy, the owner, is delightful. Well done and keep smiling!

Fantastic friendly service & amazing high quality food, would totally recommend this restaurant. The hotel it’s based in, also has a lovely relaxing bar & pretty garden for pre-dinner drinks.

There is a car park more a less opposite the Antrobus Hotel where the Siam Smile is located but beware as even disabled drivers have to pay in this car park.

Genuine and friendly staff. Service with a smile. Aswell as absolute gorgeous Thai food. Me and my misses order fresh from the A la Charte menu most weeks. Freshly cooked.

I have eaten here and it was great food, so I thought I would try it out for a take-away. The service and the quality of the food was as I expected - fantastic - but it took 40 minutes for the food to be ready and the restaurant was not at all busy. So in the future - and I'm definitely going to use them as my go-to take-away - I'll phone ahead and be a bit more organised. If you live locally then this is, in my opinion, the best Asian cuisine for miles around, so give it a go.
