Nice pub, me and hubby stopped in for pudding 🍮 I had apple 🍎 crumble with custard and hubby had sticky toffee it was a little sweet for my liking but the staff were very helpful and attentive so would recommend if in the area

Extremely rude bar staff, slow service and dirty dishes everywhere. Avoid.

Went in here for a quick meal and was pleasantly surprised. Ben (the ginger giant bartender), welcomed us in, gave us a menu, helped us with our drink order and was attentive to the entire room, quickly removing plates and serving people whilst attending the bar. Although there’s an entire bar team, Ben was effortlessly doing the majority of the work on his own to keep the food and drinks flowing and tables clean. I thought that was very impressive and all while doing it in a cheerful way.

One of the cosiest pubs in Richmond. Comfortable, quiet and great to chill out. Amstel pint was a bit overpriced but great overall. Friendly service.

FAB XMAS DINNER ! Used to be rough. People barred from other pubs used to go here, I didn't even like walking past it ! Refurb, new landlords, pleasure to walk by. During lockdown, took it off their own backs to supply food | hot drinks for the displaced community . Also the best Asahi pint around .

400 yo little English pub. Friendly. We happened to be there on a Monday when it was open mic night, so we stayed and had a few more beers. Entertaining. We didn’t eat, although we had intended to. No one else was eating, so we enjoyed the entertainment and went elsewhere for a late meal.

Very nice and pleasant. Update for 2024: I had a really disappointing experience at the restaurant. The first roast dinner I was served was so bad that I had to ask for a second one. Even then, it wasn't great, and I still had to pay full price. It was my son's birthday, and I didn't want to ruin the celebration, so I didn't complain too much. But it was really disheartening to see my son struggle to eat the meal, especially when he described the potatoes as tasting like frozen ones. It was a letdown to pay £19 for a meal that wasn't up to par. I felt like I should have only been charged for the drinks and squid, which were the only parts of the meal that were good. Complaining about the roast just made the whole experience worse.

Fish and chips are the least tasty fish I have eaten in pubs. There was no crispy crust on the fish, it was tasteless and almost raw dough. Our order took more than half an hour to prepare, this is too long for such a small number of customers in the pub. I do not recommend.

Get in on a Monday night for entertaining open mic night. A lot of fun with some interesting characters. Great fun for a Monday with good food and drinks. Pie not the classic pastry but still tasty and strong fish and chips.

Staff here is great! They have a tapas lunch special during the day. 3 tapas for £13.5 The Smoked chicken croquettes were good, the king prawn comes with lots of chorizo though it doesn't quite come together, and the trio of mushrooms (3 types of mushrooms cooked/boiled together) was okay though excessively salted. Still worth the money but not high end though perfect for us as a small lunch meal for 2.

Nice enough pub in central Richmond. Live music on Saturday evenings and some football matches shown. A great selection of beers but as you would expect from a Fuller's pub, it's quite pricey.

Perfect to watch the football and then head to twickenham stadium. Great food, attentive staff. Will definitely come back.

The Angel and Crown, tucked away on Church Lane in Richmond is a simple gem of a place, part of the Fuller's empire. It is a small one and a bit roomed pub with a great range of cask and keg ales/beers/ciders to keep us all happy. Great staff offering great service. A most enjoyable place to visit.

Veggie roast was a mushroom puff pastry pie, which had no puff pastry?! It had some dry, barely edible sawdust topping (?) on top instead. A disappointment.

Unfortunately a really disappointing experience that I wouldn’t recommend. We went for a Sunday roast, but our waiter was really rude, and the veggie roast (a mushroom pie) was terrible and not eaten at all. The toilets were also very dirty. There are much nicer pubs in Richmond!

DO NOT GO HERE!! If you are a woman you are not safe in here! The service and management is awful and not professional, food is average. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PUB AT ALL COSTS!!

Worst Sunday roast sadly :( burnt Yorkshire pudding, potato was just a hard boiled potato no duck fat or crisp, mushy carrots?, no peas, vegetarian option had a weird sandy crumble on top, gravy was brown water no taste..ordered two half pints, they never brought them but wanted to charge and gave us weird looks when we explained. Atmosphere is very nice, food lacking, at least today.

Worse pub ever, if you are a woman be careful there are regulars which are disgusting and disrespectful. DO NOT ENTER!!!!!! IT IS HORRIBLE AND THE FOOD IS AVERAGE. DO not got here!!!! IT is horrible

Fillet steak was the very end of the fillet - a knotted mound, though the fish and chips was quite good. The plates were only cleared away, when we asked them to be cleared. Too cold to stay and have coffee, actually went to Pret a Manger instead. Not outright bad, but don't want to go back.

Lovely pub. Always has been. Open mic is good on a Monday evening. Very expensive. Hence the 4 stars. I know we have to accept constant price rises in pubs now unfortunately .

On the website your Steak Night shows £40 but a list of menu's you show say £30 for steak night if they are old menu's I suggest you delete them.

Fantastic welcome here. Spoke with three members of the team all three were wonderful, a credit to the pub. Flood was delicious and a cracking selection of drinks. Audible "buzz" in here. This is a proper pub.

Hannah, Dean and the team are superb and went above and beyond to accommodate a group of 12 of us for a 30 year reunion. Great food and drink, and brilliant live music in the main bar in the evening. I arrived at 11am and left at 11pm and I enjoyed every minute.

Haven’t eaten here for a while and after this experience, I won’t be doing so for some time. Two Sunday roasts, one chicken the other beef. Chicken was good but the beef was awful. Can’t believe the kitchen actually put this on a plate, was nothing but fat, sinew and inedible meat, really poor. Would have rated one star if it wasn’t for the chicken my wife had and the decent pint of pride.

Monday night Open Mic always fun and entertaining. Ben and Tixie are great hosts and lots of variety in performance. Chef is very good too.

9 of us turned up unannounced for a meal. Staff put themselves out to accommodate us without any fuss, didn't have to wait too long for meals to be served. Staff very polite and obliging.

Fish and chips and the Brazilian food excellent. Staff also very good, kind and welcoming. Will be back!

Located smack bang in the middle of Richmond. Good pub ambience. Nice food menu with well thought-out selection of tantalising contemporary dishes and a wide array of ales and beers. I had the sirloin steak served with mushrooms, mixed leaf salad, peppercorn sauce and triple cooked skin-on chips. My lunch companion had the cider and herb battered hake fillet with tartare sauce, garden peas and triple cooked chips. I must say the food was generally above average quality. The restaurant team and the waiting staff were extremely polite, eager to help and very cheerful. There is outdoor seating and dogs get a water bowl which is great.

Nice local pub nice drink but don't know about food

I would only recommend this place for a quick pint after work and nothing else. Do not be fooled by the steak night offer - it is honestly offensive to call the piece of meat we got served a fillet. It was tiny (like half of it was missing), dry & looked like it had been deep fat fried. Despite requesting another one, it was not much better. I've had better fish and chips from a high street supermarket and that's a compliment. Do not order food when you go to this place, you will be very disappointed especially because it is expensive & the staff could not care less about the quality of the food nor the customer experience. Avoid!

Really good, friendly service from the young chap behind the bar today. I used to frequent this place in the bad old days! Things have really improved now. The beers were perfect and very reasonably priced for Richmond . My friend hadn't been here before and he was mightily impressed. Free WiFi and spotless loos. Recommended ✨✨✨✨✨

Nice atmosphere, and very tasty food.. My only criticism is the huge service charged amount added to the bill. The place is already not cheap, I was happily paying.. but over 10% on top was completely shocking.

Very disappointed: although the staff was very nice, the food was dreadful: the burger was so-so: not enough salt on the meat, no sauce at all in the burger. As for the blue cheese: I didn't taste much of it. The worst though were the fries. The menu said "triple-cooked": they were no crunchy at all and a few of them had a horrible taste, like they were off. I will definitely not recommend this place

We’ve lived in Richmond a long time and seen this pub under many different types of management. It has finally made it back into our must stop for a pint list. I’m a pub manager by trade so am enormously fussy about how clean the beer lines are, this pub is spot on. The staff only make it better. Thank you Jake for an enjoyable afternoon! Good products, great service, clean lines. What more could you want! I will definitely be coming back.

Tucked away on the pedestrian path is the best food you will find in Richmond. This traditional local pub has it all - friendly staff, great atmosphere and most importantly A B S O L U T E L Y incredible food. I had a Brazilian steak with chips the likes of which I hadn’t have since Brazil. The meat was perfect and juicy, the chips were thick real potato slices (not the usual processed stuff you get everywhere, proper ones made from scratch) and everything was freshly made and incredibly flavorful. I cannot recommend it enough. They also have an excellent finger food selection with a Brazilian twist (I had the cheesy bread) in addition to traditional pub classics, which I still need to try. And when I thought it couldn’t get any better, there came the dessert - spanish style churros so perfectly finished I find it hard to describe. Totally recommend, you’re in for an amazing foodie experience. Hats off to Chef Geovani
