Diba Persian Restaurant (Richmond) in Richmond upon Thames

Diba Persian Restaurant has a bright, interesting interior.  We visited here in anticipation of something a bit different in terms of cuisine but were disappointed with the food all a bit bland and the pieces of chicken in my dish were dry. Service was good.

Good food, very friendly owner and friendly staff

Took my booking over the phone yesterday, for a birthday lunch, turned up at Richmond and it was closed! No one mentioned which restaurant we wanted when I called and no one said the Richmond branch was closed!!

Really good food but not sure about the service. We could clearly see that, at the entrance, a male waiter was really unprofessional and unpleasant to a female waitress (arguing quite openly with lots of energy). Later, we were also told to finish up and leave due to a reservation on our table that we did not know about. Shocking behaviour - lacking awareness or sensitivity to customers.

I called this restaurant this morning and booked a table for 7 people coming from afar. But the nice lady, did not say that the place is SHUT CLOSED. Complete let down. The food is fantastic, I have had takeaways, but this was my first time attending the premises. Terrible

Fantastic restaurant with fantastic staff. Will be coming here regularly. Food is amazing.

What a hidden gem. Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our time at Diba. Excellent service, fresh and delicious food. I would definitely recommend this place.

Service did let you down but food made up for it.

Went here to meet friends on their recommendation - what a treat! Vine leaves, chicken wings and falafel to start - all excellent. And the mains… such large portions! Chops, kebabs and stews with a ferric variety. Plus a good beer on draught and cocktails. A really good place for a treat night out.

I told them I had a nut allergy and they brought backlawa at the end, they should pay more attention to customers requests

We arrived at 10pm on a Saturday night after a plane journey back from Canada, the staff were so accommodating and the food was plentiful and so tasty, Thankyou for a great meal

Food was great and LOADS of it, very big portions, most of us had to leave some. The staff were rushed off their feet, although there seemed to be quite a few of them, so a bit slow, but the atmosphere was great and we weren't rushed . Only complaint was it was so hot in there, bread oven , but it was also a very hot evening 👍😁

*DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE* ORDERED FROM JUSTEAT APP AT 8.30PM AND ITS NOW 10.05PM AND STILL WAITING FOR FOOD…TRIED CALLING MANY TIMES AND SAYS BUSY TONE!! DISGUSTING SERVICE NEVER AGAIN. DON’T BE FOOLED BY THE RATINGS!!!

One of our favourite restaurants as a family. In door and outdoor seating with great friendly and helpful members of staff. Highly recommend!

Amazing taste of Iranian food. I tried their Jooje and Koobide, it's the same taste that you can find in the best restaurants in Iran.

If you want an authentic persian food then don't go here. The food is ok but its not proper persian dishes. The loobiya polo was a disaster that was called loobiya polo. It was just an orange colour rice with a few beans and big chunk of lamb neck that was tasteless. Its a shame!

The place is nicely decorated and it has a lovely atmosphere. The food was average and dry and totally overpriced. Service was good- but the waitresses were staring at us all the time and it was a little bit uncomfortable.

Diba Persian Restaurant is my favorite post-work spot. The food is delicious, the off-peak offers are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and caring. Highly recommended! Can't wait to visit again soon.

Excellent, delicious, vibrant, interesting, refreshing, filling, romantic, friendly.. I could go on. This place is both modern and classic with best of both worlds. Do yourself a favour and come here for dinner you won't be disappointed. My favourite part was the menus. They come in these big leather booklets which used to be common but have been replaced by little paper slips in most restaurants (perhaps to look trendy or perhaps as a cost saving measure). Making a choice is a hard, but interesting decision to make. The menu is full of exotic names which you haven't seen before, even in London where you can taste any cuisine you want. They all sound delicious going by the description. Hard to choose a favourite dish, but it probably was the aubergine spread starter which we put on a perfectly baked garlic naan, and washed it down with excellent house wine of course. Diba is now one of my favourite restaurants in London. I also found out it's a chain so will be looking to try other locations. Thank you for the service.

Wonderful ambience , wonderful staff and more importantly AMAZING food! I had the Dizi and my friend had the Shishlik, the meat was tender and well served. I highly recommend Diba Richmond

The food was absolutely delicious, I had sea bass and mixed starters. Tried to fit it in in a work lunch break which wasn’t ideal, wish I could have stayed for a lazy lunch! It was busy and obviously popular. I’d like to come and eat again.

Fabulous food such a lovely place

The service is really bad, as we needed three different servers in order to get what we wanted when we wanted it. On the other hand the food was delicious (both the minced and the marinated diced lamb, as well as the falafels) and the portions massive. My partner couldn't finish her plate, so more for me. If you can't be bothered by a mediocre service, and you only want a place to eat something delicious with no stress nor rush, this is ideal. We will definitely be back

The food was average service was terrible we were out for a birthday, We had to ask for a spoon three times, drinks were not brought to table had to ask again. They were not friendly didn't makes us feel welcomed at all. Would never go back.

Persian food it's somthing that you should experience, despit the lack of space, this cosy branch of Diba restaurants offers plenty of great dishes. Staff are nice and friendly and treat you well and the atmosphere is nice. This could have been a five star review if the customer toilet was cleaner. All in all would recommend and revisit again.

Great food, with fantastic Costumer service and an amazing environment. Strongly recommend Diba’s restaurant.

The food was nice however the side dishes portions left much to be desired. Also it was disappointing that between four people they gave us the same amount of sauce and bread as they did for the table next to us that were only two people this was a little disappointing. But it was fine overall.

Loved the food which was delicious. Huge portions and we left with a bag! Customer service fantastic and the restaurant is beautiful too, highly recommend.

Lovely food and cozy ambience. The staff were super friendly and loved the portion of servings. The Persian tea is a must have in the end! Weekends can be super busy, so better to have a reservation beforehand.

Wonderful mixed grill and dips. Fantastic chargrill flavour on the meat, and fresh stone baked naans.

Outstanding. We visited Diba for my mothers birthday and were very happy with the food and service. We were impressed that their dishes other than ‘kabob’ were very good including the sizes. Their chai was excellent and ofcourse the festive setting was beautiful. We will return

This is a lovely restaurant in Central Richmond. We went on a Monday and it was still quite busy. The food was excellent. Huge portions and great quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning for more delicious food!

We really liked the enclosed outdoor seating area. It reminded me of the restaurants by the Mediterranean in Spain. The veggie main dish was alright, but the kebab was really good. Excellent service. We plan to revisit soon.

Great evening last night at Diba Richmond. The restaurant it cute & cosy with a lovely atmosphere. Very charming with all the pretty light's. We had lovely selection of food from the menu and was served by many of the staff who were wonderful. Thank you, we would highly recommend your restaurant.

I was quite disappointed by the food and ambiance. They gave us a rocking table and promised to get some tissues to stabilise it but never did! It was not nice to cut meat on a rocking table with a lot of stuff and glass on wine on it. Meat seemed fresh but wasn't tasty unfortunately. I think they have cramped too many tables in a very small area. They need to rethink their seating arrangement so that people don't feel like they are in each others space. Also it is very expensive. It was just 2 adults and a 5 Yr old and we had a bill of £82! Not worth it.

Had a family dinner here and the service and the food were exceptional. A very friendly place with excellent range of authentic Persian/Mediterranean food all freshly prepared and served. Extremely hospitable people an thank you to all.

Excellent Food, Great service by "Paria" and very welcoming and indeed a fantastic ambience. The food quantity was alot and none of us could not finish it up but it was full of taste and deliciousness.

Delicious, very friendly service and good atmosphere. I loved eating here both times I went while in London. There were also many Persians which confirmed that it was an authentic place. I loved a dish with lamb, which I don't remember the name of, but it was vegetarian with a very dark but delicious color. Totally recommended if you want to try Iranian food.

I would like to take the opportunity to praise Maryam. She is a delight. On the few recent occasions we have dined here, she has made the experience so special. She goes out of her way to make sure everything is to our satisfaction and she always has such a beautiful smile. I found this restaurant by accident whilst walking about. It looked friendly and i must say that the greeting was welcoming and service was exceptional. Food was amazing and the staff were knowledgable and very helpful. A good selection of well priced wines and the atmosphere was busy without being noisy. Obviously a favourite with the Persian community and no wonder. I would certainly recommend this restaurant, the Felafel was amazing and so fresh !! Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Staff are nice. Food is well garnished but the quality is not good for the price. I ordered kabab Torsh, which wasn’t cooked by its actual recipe and tasted too sweet. My family weren’t too happy with their food either. For 3 average meals we paid £134 including desert.

Over priced, average food quality and taste, small place, good size dishes but quality is a uggh. Kobedeh tasted as if it was kept in a warmer, too moist for a kebab and too wet. Not the best around. 10% service charges, was not expecting that

Didn't eat in, so can't comment on the atmosphere (it looked very nice, though). The food was awesome and I can't wait to try more of their menu. I'm a dangerously close 7 minutes walk away from Diba. I'll be back. 😎
