I came here on Boxing Day, fantastic atmosphere, it coincided with the David Davies Boxing Day Meet which was hosted here, Fantastic fox hunt that gladly hasn’t got the lefties harassing it. And the meet was joyous. The pack was established by the first Lord Davies (then Mr. David Davies) in 1905, and hunted by him privately at his own expense and it continues like that to this day, only with Granddaughter Lady Eldrydd financing it now (the wedding business at Plas Dinam is thankfully keeping it alive). It’s rare nowadays to see a hunt like this and wonderful local businesses like this supporting it. The food is traditional hearty fayre, the owners are real characters and that’s a plus. They don’t take any nonsense from haughty outsiders and that’s a massive plus for us. My partner and I had a great day. Great to see all the traditions. So highly recommend any time of the year, but especially for Boxing Day if you fancy a bit of excitement. Great to see owners firmly support country side pursuits despite the deluge of negative pressure and tourists who are anti it.

Had a great family lunch on Christmas Eve. Good range of beers, an extensive menu so close to Christmas. Service great, food order took 20mins for six freshly made meals. We will come back.

Excellent Sunday lunch , staff nice and very helpful , sat outside with dogs and staff brought food out and also water for the dogs.

The Angle Inn is a pub with a small restaurant at the back. We booked ahead which is advisable. The staff were very attentive and gave us a friendly welcome. There were 8 in our group and every one of us had a delicious meal. I am happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty dinner with good service.

Didn't stay there so can't rate the rooms but a lovely traditional pub. Proper pub atmosphere and the beer. Superb.

Had a lovely meal tonight, we hadn't booked but were very accommodating even though they were very busy,really friendly staff and they couldn't do enough for us. The food was excellent and a great menu, we would really recommend this lovely pub and restaurant 5 ⭐

Our family of 5 visited the Angel for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Friendly staff and a great meal. We all had various roasts and the meat was tender with a great selection of vegetables. 5 clean plates. The gravy was lush! Pudding was similarly lovely and all good value.

Eight of us for lunch on a weekday. Great service and everyone said that their meals were fantastic!!

The Angel is an amazing local pub that carries all the charm and friendliness you would hope for in a little town. The owners are so kind! We did not have time to stop for dinner, but we will be coming back next year so cannot wait to sample their 5* cuisine!

We enjoyed a lovely evening here last week. The meal was excellent, everything freshly cooked and delicious. The regular customers were especially friendly and we spent hours chatting in the bar. This must be the friendliest pub in Wales and we had a memorable night ( 11/5/23)

Had a drink here Saturday and was made to feel very welcome by Fran and the team. Booked for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. Good choice of meats and vegan choices. Lots of freshly cooked vegetables, would definitely recommend. Will definitely choose to eat here when we are next in llandiloes.

Lovely food great service can’t fault it. Garlic mushrooms a to die for and pulled beef burrito amazing burgers 🍔 to notch.

Amazing Sunday Lunch We spent a few days in the Llanidloes area recently . We decided to book a table at The Angel Inn for Sunday lunch From the moment we entered we were made to feel at home by the very friendly staff, excellent choice on the menu and the food did not disappoint, it was the best Sunday lunch we have had in a very long time. If and when I visit Llanidloes- this is a place of our choice for lunch and dinner. And wonderful selection of various dishes, freshly cooked food, service with a smile and good prices.

We didn't get the friendliest of welcomes, the chips were nice and we had soft drinks then got out of there, don't think we would rush back! I can't reply to the message below but it was a while ago. January 2nd, the bank holiday. The staff warmed up a bit, but we regretted going in a bit on first impressions.

Lovely room and breakfast. It was a real shame the restaurant was shut when we were there: looking forward to trying it next time.

We were staying in the area and called in for an evening meal. My partner had the chicken curry and I had a mushroom and Stilton pie. Both were lovely comfort food, perfect for a cold February evening. Generous portions with nicely cooked vegetables and particularly delicious sauces. Someone in the kitchen knows how to create flavour. Hats off to them. Service was excellent: friendly and efficient. The standout part was the bill, which was less than £25 (excluding drinks). If this was my local I'd be thrilled.

Called here on our way home, with only 10 mins until food was finished, the staff were helpful, cheery and very accommodating. Food was great, service was fantastic. Quite busy for a week night!

Excellent meal, wonderful lamb casserole

We've visited this pub on three occasions when staying overnight in Llanidloes whilst breaking our annual trip to South Wales from Manchester. Every time the food has been great with a good choice from the menu and specials board. Staff also friendly and a great choice of draft beer if that's to your liking!

Big menu with plenty on offer to suit the whole family. I went for the potato skins with chilli which was very nice. Fairly standard pub food but very well done and with friendly and quick service. Excellent choice of beers.

Went to the Angel to celebrate a birthday. We had the Lamb Casserole and Beef Bourguignon followed by the Meringue. We could not fault the meal, it was absolutely delicious as was the service. Would highly recommend The Angel to anyone visiting Llandeilo or the surrounding area.

Visited Llanidloes after visiting Hafen Woodland, a detour on the way home. We wanted tea and cake however due to time all the cafes were closed. We found ourselves visiting The Angel for something to eat. Plenty of selection of beers, cider and largers as well as good selection of food. My partner had cod and chips i enjoyed Plaice and chips. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Kind enough to squeeze us in on a busy night. Good choice of vegetarian options, opted for delicious Pie & Mash and had to refrain from licking the plate! Lol! Really tasty food and lovely service. Will definitely return on my next visit to the area.

A superb pub. Full of character, and lively in the evening. The bar staff locals were very friendly and welcoming to travellers, as always. Well kept real ales. Purple Moose Glaslyn Ale, Wye Vally Butty Bach and Greene King Abbott were available yesterday.

Reviewing as a vegan, so would give 6 stars if I were a meat eater but there’s less choice for us fussy ones. That said, I should have asked the staff because I’m sure they would have rustled me up a vegan starter, and I say I’m sure because they did just that for a dessert, even though there wasn’t one listed on the menu. The lady who served us was so so so so so nice! The food was really good too, and the only vegan option on the menu (beans bourguignon) was actually incredibly delicious! Honestly can’t emphasise enough how nice and welcoming the staff were, and we’ll very likely visit again.

Went to the Angle Inn this evening for a meal with friends .I can't speak for my friends, but my meal was that bad that they didn't charge for it. Spoilt my night completely. My advice is get a new chef.

Good selection on the menu. Food was lovely a very enjoyable evening.

We stopped in for dinner while driving through Wales. Was told because of two large parties (The only people in there aside from my husband and i) that it would be about a 40-45 minute wait... An hour and 15 minutes later we received our starter of mushrooms which were only partly cooked. This was disappointing after so long of a wait. The rest of the main and dessert was lovely but we couldn't understand the wait times. This was a little disappointing for us.

We stopped here on our way up to North Wales for the New Year .. amazing food and lovely staff .. definitely well worth a visit

Super food at a really good price and very lovely staff

Not the best experience - here on holiday, googled 'dog friendly pubs' this came up - called in for birthday drink with my parents and Dylan our golden retriever to get barked at by an agressive bar lady stating dogs are not allowed here!! Suffice to say we turned heel and left after such a frosty encounter. Appreciate after checking trip advisor dogs are welcome but only outside (after scrolling through several reviews to see the pub comment dogs only welcome outside hope it makes it clear) anyway went two doors down to the stag had a much better selection of beers and ciders, fantastic bar staff, fussed our dog and gave him dog biscuits, checked we were enjoying our drinks - highly recommend walking the extra 2 feet to a much warmer reception!

Checked on Google and it said it's a dog friendly pub, as I've walked in I've been told straight away no dogs allowed. Quite blunt tbh, could've been more polite and explain, basically I've felt like I've been kicked out. Not bothered but there is a better way to say it than " no dogs allowed". Mine is a golden Labrador, can't get a softer dog than him. Not going there again

Lovely little pub, some nice locals who made conversations and welcoming

A lovely place to go and people watch outside and also enjoy some amazing home cooked food. We recently stayed nearby and visited here a few times during our stay. We all tried different dishes my favourite was the African swahili fish curry. Sunday lunch was also lovely. Overall an amazing place to visit. And hopefully we will visit again soon. Highly recommend a visit here.

At the back of this pub is a surprise of great restaurant. The menu is well designed for every taste and the food is cooked to deliver. A very enjoyable experience.

Visited with friends,but unfortunately this is not a dog friendly pub so only two of us could have a drink,we had one and moved on to a dog friendly pub a short walk away for more drinks and food with our friends.

My family visited The Angel on the last night of our 1 week holiday. The table service was excellent and the quality of the food was spot on. The faggots were lovely and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the lamb curry.I would highly recommend The Angel.

Great menu and food. Both the mains and deserts were excellent. Good beer. The interior is clean and pleasant with a nice atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable too. The wine could be a little better but we'll definitely eat here again.

During our holiday in the area and after reading recent reviews, we decided to try this lovely pub for food and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and allowed us in the restaurant an hour before the usual service time. Plenty of drinks to choose from in the bar area and a great variety of choice on the menu. Would happily return if and when in the area again :)

My husband couldn't find anything on the menu which suited his dietary requirements. We asked and the chef adapted a recipe for my husband who then said it was the best chicken he had eaten. My food was also delicious. The puddings were generous and scrumptious. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful and the eating area was comfortable. Well worth a visit.

What a lovely welcoming pub, we called in this evening hoping to get food, told table would be available 30 mins if happy to wait, bar staff very friendly and great selection of gins to choose from.Food was delicious, I had the African Swahili fish curry (Basa fillet), with mixed side of rice and chips (weird maybe) but saved me making a choice, popadom and dips,cleared my plate. Partner had the special steak suet pudding, another clean plate, highly recommend this place. Thanks

Very friendly staff, pretty short waits between ordering and receiving our meals. Really tasty, satisfying food. Very reasonable prices too.

Had beef bouguinon and chicken curry. Both very nice and would highly recommend. Nice friendly atmosphere. Decent ales too. Chef cooked our meal out of normal afternoon hours which really helped and was very much appreciated.

We were recommended this pub from a local who mentioned that whilst there were a number of pubs in town this was extra special. He was spot on and we enjoyed the best meal during our stay in mid Wales. The menu has your usual pub fare but there were some real special dishes ie Brazilian stew and burritos. We ordered the meat and veggie burritos which were the best we have eaten. The portions were very generous and we did not have room for desert but have no doubt they would have been delicious too. The food is very reasonably priced and we hope to return very soon.

We had a take away during lockdown and couldn't fault a thing. From ordering and payment to collection, everything was well organised. The food was great quality, well cooked and super tasty. Highly recommended.

Fantastic adaptation to Lockdown conditions. Easy phone booking with Landlady Charlotte and made to feel so welcome. She is so natural with customers. Great beer available as usual and the Beef and Lamb roasts were divine, followed by tiramisu and rhubarb crumble - divine. We visit every year and the whole experience is welcoming, relaxing and exceeds expectations every time. Back soon!

Had 2 meals here in 2 days. Nice friendly pub with great food served in the restaurant, it was a shame that some of the Sunday lunch menu was not available, but a great selection during weekdays. We will be going again before our week stay in Llanidloes is over.
