Nice friendly pub and the beer was excellent don’t think they do food

Nothing clickey about this place, its a propper working class pub. All you have to do is be yourself and folk will respect ya... enjoyed my visit will return one day... five stars well deserved

From walking in at about 21:20 I felt unwelcome. The place was very dark and looked closed. Had one quick drink and left.

Good if you are a regular but needs a bit of a revamp inside. Drinks are OK value, not tried the food.

This is definitely a locals pub but I have always been made to feel very welcome. Lovely cosy atmosphere, jukebox, friendly punters and good pool table (Although a little tight in places) Lady behind the bar (possibly the landlady) is lovely and extremely accommodating. 5 stars all round

Great afternoon spent in the sun enjoying a cold glass of cider. Perfect location after a dog walk, water offered for the dogs also after their walk. Lovely place to play pool and have a drink on my doorstep. Proper pub, been coming here for years, lovely landlady and friendly staff

The best proper pub around! The garden is a good size with a little play area for the kids. They don’t serve food which is what I prefer as I feel a lot of pubs concentrate more on food these days. There is a pool table and juke box to enjoy. The landlady is the best, she is bubbly, friendly and always welcomes me and the dog! She will serve us quickly then bring the dog some water! Good value and good atmosphere. It’s my go to pub every time!

Great place to drink no food good atmosphere

An en-route stop off and I'm glad I did. A really friendly atmosphere, good selection of drinks on tap, a brilliant landlady and a jukebox too (with a good choice of tunes to choose from). Great job!

Very lovely pub with great staff

Can't rate this pub enough, was there for a private party and was thrown back by how good the whole experience was. The Staff are fantastic and caring and really go the extra mile to help where possible. It's set out well, allowing enough space for groups of people and a decent sized bar which is always manned and ready to serve! Will be visiting again for sure and can't recommend enough.

we booked an outside table for 4 people on arrival we was told we could only have food from the outside bit not much selection ordered pulled pork burger and chips the food arrived well it was a normal burger that was dry and tasteless with a bit of pulled pork on top there was one bottle of vinegar to go round the whole garden area hello covid my friend ordered a coffee and was told they had run out of milk and someone had to go out and get some 45 minutes later still waiting with cup of cold black coffee that they did replace such a shame a lovely place to sit but the food was awful not worth what we paid will not be doing that again in a hurry will still be visiting but avoiding the anchor.please ignore this review wrong place never been here once again apologies I got the wrong anchor.

I was in the area for work and just popped in.. Classic British pub and the staff behind the bar were lovely ladies.

Went here for a Christmas drink with the football team after a game. Arrived at 11:30 as it said online they open at 11 but they actually open at 12. Mentioned this to them and they happily opened the doors and welcomed us all.

Me and my partner came here for lunch, I must admit it was the best lunch I have had in ages . We will be back again . staff are very welcoming

An old watering hole of mine, a great place to meet old mates and to make new friends. The Anchor is a great family friendly pub where good food and friendly staff are always there.

Beer garden full of litter and chain smokers. Stella, fosters and Carling rule . Go over the road. Way better.

Went to have some food, pub doesn't open till 12pm and then told they don't serve food on Saturdays. They've lost my custom! Avoid!

Friendly atmosphere, good beer & lovely garden.

This is where me and the people I play football with go to when we are done. It's a pub, over time we've really got on with the landlord. We go there mainly as it isn't a chain and we can have a laugh post-playing
