Impeccable food and service, as always. Lunch menu is about £13.50 for the all you can eat buffet. Food was hot and all options were promptly topped up. Friendly staff always great with a smile.

Unlimited buffet, as long as you eat all you take. For lunch, a more limited selection is available.

awful!!!came in this evening for a meal, food under cooked,chicken red inside only good thing was the drink(which was a coke).While raising our concerns to one of the members of staff he advised us to talk to the gentleman on the till when paying.The man on the till was sorta sympathetic to begin with offering money off,which was greatly appreciated!!Until us mentioning are concern of how this was a major health and safety hazard which could result in someone becoming severely ill.Which he didn’t look to impressed to hear.After this I felt the man came across with quite a rude approach not even apologising for the awful experience.Fast forward a few hours I’m now laying in bed feeling quite unwell,not to sure if related to the meal however,quite coincidental!!!Im not one to complain but reading other reviews this experience seems to happen quite often and for the price i would be expecting edible food!!!!

WOW… Just a wow! Me and a dear friend had been planning to go to this exquisite venue for months but had decided to save it for a special occasion. Let me tell you it was absolutely worth the wait. Chicken toast. Exceptional. Salt and pepper chicken. Delightful. Sweet and sour chicken. despite being a bit too salty for my liking still a wonderful journey of flavour. This chinese venue sure did enlighten my taste buds in ways i had previously assumed was impossible. The staff. excellent. I know what you’re thinking. what did the sea weed taste like and wow i cannot stress enough how wonderfully gorgouse it tasted. Snap. Cackle. POP! it was glorious

Food poor dirty table staff behind so called bar and till ignorant £20 per person never again

I am a huge fan of dragon king the food will often be 4/5 (certain occassions 3/5), and the staff are always friendly.

None of the Food was hot- just luke watm with the exception of the Soup spoilt the evening

Disgusting do not eat toilets are filthy, have reported it to hyhiene people

Used to be tradition to come here every year for my birthday as I really do love the food here but in recent years the food is never cooked properly and this time in particular we came and got chicken, I had unknowingly eaten a good 5 pieces before realising it was entirely pink in the middle and later became sick when I got home. Food is not safe to eat.

Food was OK, far from the best I have had at such an establishment. Was cheap however at £14 for all you can eat. I feel would rather pay a little more for better quality food, that said can't really argue for £14.

Really wanted a Chinese so chose to go to dragon king. Should have seen the signs that it was awful as it was empty. The Staff were polite. So we grabbed our plates and was walking around the counter and was not anything that looked fresh. The salt and pepper chicken had no salt or pepper, chicken chewy as been reheated from days ago vermicelli was dried out, had no duck and overall the food was shocking, £31 for feeling sick and they don’t even give you a bucket to throw up in included in the price, certainly would advise not eating there unless you enjoy feeling sick

Waiter refused to believe it was my birthday, then messed up our payments, insisted it was our fault, until my friend pointed out where it was his fault, he then laughed and tried to joke his way out of admitting his mistake. He proceeded to watch myself and my friends for the entire meal, which was very uncomfortable, and was rude throughout. The next day (today) my best friend has suspected food poisoning from the food and we have agreed to never ever go back.

Very rude staff member. The staff member continued to make us feel uncomfortable the entire night. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a birthday celebration turned into an awful evening. Will not be returning .

Absolutely incredible experience, so many tasty options, went with a vegetarian friend and they had full plates all the way. All the meat dishes were great too.

Restaurant was dead upon arrival with plenty of seats available. There was one couple sitting and the waiter decided to sit us on the table next to them. I asked if we can move to a table away as we had a baby with us. He said "No, we can no do this" I replied "but the restaurant is empty". Anyway, after a while we finally go to try the food and it was CRAP. No flavour whatever and the meat was rubbery and mushy.

Lovely place, very tasty food. Can't see why people would say they didn't like the food or service for a buffet it is excellent 👌 realistic expectations are needed for any buffet.

Deco is clean and lovely. Food is average nothing to rave on about and for £19.90 is high end price for buffet.

Currently sat in this restaurant and I shall never return ever again. I haven’t been here for nearly 20 years and now I remember why! There is more atmosphere on the moon and the staff are like prison wardens. The value for money is really awful and the place hasn’t changed in decor for 20 years. ⭐️

Just a bit of a disappointment really. Chicken was very 'slimey' and not nice to look at or eat really. Plenty of choice but all a bit bland. Will not be returning sadly 😞

Food was overly oily and tasted like it had been out for way longer than it should. Some of the fruit was off! Staff were lovely

Took daughter for a treat. Staff were rude and laughing at peoples complaints. Tables surrounding us had raw chicken and staff were not professional dealing with this. All tables could hear and no longer wanted to eat. Staff thought this was funny. Food was quite poor. Will not return.

Went there for dinner, the food didn’t taste very good at all, was cold and some of it looked undercooked, been there a couple of times where it’s been like this. Left very unhappy and unsatisfied. Wouldn’t Recommend going here

After many years I went back to the Dragon King, couldn't fault it, food was great and staff were helpful.

Great food especially for the price. Shame they don’t have chopsticks anymore as the cutlery isn’t the best.

Pretty typical all you can eat buffet. Reasonable choice of food however not great for vegetarians all cooked well and the staff are polite and friendly. It's not good it's not bad just a generally solid choice for this type of place. Been several times and it's never been bad I will go again too

Buffet is amazing, always such a great range of food and lovely staff. Me and my boyfriend go there all the time perfect for a date night.

Went for dinner, very enjoyable Chinese. I think people should lower there expectations with buffets as they're cheap and cheerful and you eat what you want, the dinner buffet was very good. Lunch will obviously have less due to being a quieter and cheaper period. I had 2 and a half plates and dessert and it was worth the 17.90 as I got to try and enjoy different things. Sweet and sour chicken was very nice, much better than take away Chinese.

Last year and again now. A big improvement, the nutritional products have been upgraded. Friendly staff. And it's quite nice if you can sit at the back at the round tables with a group

Lunch for anniversary, poor compared to past visits. Variety of meat dishes hard to chew, maybe from last night? Some very fatty. Disappointed used to be excellent. Management seemed uninterested! Return in future doubtful.

Lived here for 3 years and never been. Pleasantly surprised. For a reasonably priced Chinese buffet this was really great. Amazing range of selections and all nicely cooked. The staff were really lovely. We'll definitely be back!

Disappointingly small selection for the lunch buffet. Some more traditional Chinese veg like water chestnuts or lotus root would have been nice. Strangely there was a good selection for dessert though, including a nice fruit salad and milk jelly :) Waiters were friendly and it's pretty good value for money. Just don't expect high quality food.

Was first time here,but not for us...small buffet and big price for meniu.

i was abit hesitant because of the mixed reviews but i was suprised at how nice it was! i went for lunch so i didnt get to experience everything but what i did have was lovely, the staff were always refilling the food and it was nice and hot. The desserts could be worked on as i didnt think they were great, but overall i think it was quite nice especially for the price.

Great selection of traditional Chinese food. The Sweet and Sour Dog is my favourite. The Crispy Aromatic Pigeon is far better than duck you get at most places, and the Cat in Lemon Sauce is phenomenal. It's a classic Chinese communist restaurant in the heart of Letchworth. Feels like you're right at home. There are no forks, or knives to cater for the western eaters. But forcing your customers to eat with chopsticks is the way to go. China will dominate the world one day, and I believe the Dragon King is the first step to Chinese domination in the UK. Long live communism.

I hate leaving negative reviews. The food wasn’t great quality and clearly had been out a long while. Everything either dried out or soggy. Wouldn’t recommend.

It is what it is. Food was ok with plenty of variety. Drinks reasonably priced which is good to see. Not the best atmosphere but if your just interested in the food it will do. Could be so much better if they made ot more of an "experience".

I ordered lemon chicken to take away. It was either old chicken or really overcooked because it was so tough and dry that I could barely get a knife through it or even chew it. It has put me off repeating my visit to this restaurant.

Have visited twice in the past month. Very rarely eat out but it was that nice! Very happy both times. Service is super friendly. Food is delicious and is always hot and fresh as it is replenished frequently. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and tidy and the staff are on the ball at all times to offer assistance. The dispensed ice-cream is to die for... so creamy ! I was sad that there was not a tip option on the card machine as I did not have any cash on me to leave the staff a well deserved tip. (Paid cash and tipped the first visit so was not aware) I will definitely return and bring extra cash for a tip! Would love normal apple cider as a drinks option on the menu.

We went for a buffet lunch, staff were very friendly, for a lunch time buffet there was a great choice for mains and for dessert. Excellent price and looking forward to going again.

The photo shows the seldomly delicious milk jelly, a dessert made of milk and jelly. The foundation of all good buffets, combining surprise with cost cutting measures, the supreme brush off following the almost average savory items preceeding it. The dragon left the building several years ago, and I doubt the king ever ventured in.

Was lovely great selection in Monday night. Lovely staff very attentive.

Lovely meal but being buffet dinner of the dishes were not as hot as one would want. That is the only comment, other than that it was a good meal.

How is this place still open? This has never been quite the same as a few years back when management changed, food is still good with a large selection, limited on drinks availablity and they now make you pay upfront and not after eating. But it's still good enough that we would keep returning as it allows all our fussy eaters enough choice that they can all eat well. We went in as a party of 13 and they managed to seat us together. Toilets are best avoided but clean enough to use gents is a long trek upstairs. You have to walk to the venue as you can't park close the nearest parking is only five minutes away.

All you can eat for just under 17£ what more can you say. Good was hot and tasty for what was on offer. Drinks are steep.... 2.90 for a can of coke!

Disappointed to see that after the new managers have taken over that the food and service has gone downhill. Selling Asdas savers 35p cheese cake for desert is shocking. There’s not even an effort anymore to make decent deserts .

Not really impressed woth some things. Ribs where tasteless. Just plain bland. My pint of Lager was too fluffy and they didn’t use a table knife to slide the rest of the bubbles of my pint and wen’t quite a bit on the table just got wet. Was with my Mum and we where nearly both full up and she had 2 mini ribs left on her plate. The waitress lady came to take the plate and my Mum said can we put these 2 ribs in a plastic container to take home and she jhst put the plate back down and walked away so obviously she doesn’t understand much English. Wjen we ask the Man who I’m guessing is the manager my Mum asked him the same thing and he said no we can’t do that. I was just like what the heck because all they’ll do is put it in the bin. Absolute watse when we cna just take it home and have it later and wasen’t really a friendly tone either. Everything else was fine. I liked the Egged Fried rice and Noodles but yeah some things I wasn’t impressed tbh. I will come back again and try this all again and see if it will be better next time. If not them probably tell my Mum to go somewhere else. Quite dissapointed and quite impressed with some of the food.

Our favourite Chinese buffet! Fairly priced and good food

Do yourself a favour, stay away from this dump. Horrible food and, appalling service, matched with an alarmingly hostile atmosphere. Did not appreciate the direct eye contact from the staff, throughout the entirety of the meal. To add to this, the establishment felt unclean, from the moment we walked in. Supplied with a mixture of undercooked and, overcooked food. As if bland and, tasteless wasn’t enough. You’re delivered an actual a risk to your health and, safety as well. Consequently, all four of us felt unwell after this, with one of the group being violently sick. To round it all off; as if all that wasn’t bad enough, it was extortionately priced. Paid a small fortune for a dodgy stomach and, pure disappointment. Money well spent? I think not.

AWFUL, empty when we walked in and for a damn good reason! Cutlery and furnishings looked like they were from the pound shop and that should have been a sign. Meat was dry and when cut into was very pink on some occasions. Service was hostile and the stares we were getting made us want to leave quicker than you can say satay chicken. Toilets, GRIM. Half of the urinals covered in cling film and not clean. Paying 18.50 for a buffet that was way below par made me seriously question my life choices. Upon leaving all 4 of us got the shakes and felt nauseous. One of us actually threw up. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy. DO NOT GO HERE

It looked lean,the staff were nice,the food was tasty but so much of it was luke warm instead of hot so I was a bit disappointed.

I love The Dragon King, especially in the evening when they have more choice. The staff are always friendly and the food is always good.

Just had a lovely meal for 3 at the dragon king, would highly recommend others to visit, lovely food and a great choice to choose from, very clean restaurant and fantastic service from the staff. Will definitely be coming back more often

Really good value buffet restaurant with fresh and tasty food

We were overcharged massively! 2 adults 2 children 1 bottle of water a a j2o and a fruit shoot, over £70. Almost double! Really disappointed ☹️ Food is gd and staff are friendly but I can't recommend as I have a friend who was overcharged too and my daughter and boyfriend were overcharged too!
