The Alex Hotel Bar & Restaurant in Conwy

The hotel itself really needs modifying, it's old unprofessional and if you have mobility issues then don't bother. We booked in with 2 dogs for 2 nights, dog charge £12 per dog per night, I can deal with that. But before we even got the keys, there was a £50 deposit for any damaged caused. When we got in the room, they should have paid us £50 to let the dogs stay in the room. Burns in the carpet. Tiles adrift in the bathroom. Electrical Socket coming away. Toilet seat broken and hanging off. Reception area a dump. Hotel Signage was better on Faulty Towers Took a good 20 mins to get out deposit back for the dogs. Only good thing I would say is that the location was good. Think I'll go to a travelodge nxt time.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Welsh breakfast was good but mention if you want soft eggs and not welll done bacon. I also asked for no beans expecting a double portion of tinned tomates . no still got 2 tomatoes and frankly could not eat half of the one ss it wss hard and not ripe. . Bread and butter I'd 1 pound extra tea is really nice too hubby had soft poached eggs on toast and other day bacon and egg sarnie. Really nice sausages too.

After hearing so many great reviews I finally got to come for some food. Unfortunately I won't be rushing back. The food wasn't worth the money. £9 for some southern fried chicken strips and a very poor salad, £5 for a pate and some toast (three small baguette pieces), and fish and chips £9.50. The pate should have been on a much smaller plate as the plate looked empty. Chicken strips were dry as anything and the salad that came with was merely a small side salad that you'd expect if you had chips with it. Son liked his chips but wasn't particularly impressed with the fish. Very disappointing and overpriced. Should have stuck with the usual long term cafes and restaurants we usually visit as locals.

Staff was good, but hygiene was poor, i saw one of the staff Using a towel to wash dishes, but then after, he was using the same towel for his face, Barely any normal foods, Some of the food is nice, just dissapointed that alot of it was frozen foods or pre-packaged, peas, chips, chicken strips, potatoes, bread, i know some of these are acceptable to be frozen and pre packaged but still very dissapointed, there was kids around, and staff were swearing, Garlic sauce tasted like mayonnaise and Tartare sauce combined. Overall, 3.2/10

Spent a while looking for somewhere to eat that allows dogs and found this friendly welcoming bar and restaurant they welcomed dogs in anywhere downstairs not on the carpet. The staff are very friendly and helpful! We then went on to order food We got a pizza, chicken burger, beef burger and sausage chips and beans. The food was amazing very well cooked and filling, the base of the pizzas are all hand rolled and come out lovely and thin! The burgers were thick and flavourful, proper meat burgers! The sausages used for the sausage chips and beans were delicious would love to buy a pack of those! I full recommend this bar and restaurant for food as it was amazing! It was brilliant finding out dogs were welcome meaning we could enjoy our dinner with her too!

¡La cena del domingo fue increíble! La comida era muy sabrosa y el chico del teléfono y la señora que nos acomodó fueron muy amables y acogedores. La única razón por la que no le di una reseña de 5 estrellas fue que uno de nosotros pagó carne extra y causó un poco de tensión cuando preguntamos por qué el plato de carne extra no estaba recibiendo más carne que nosotros que solo elegimos una carne. cuando habían pagado extra por más como decía el menú. Afortunadamente, un miembro del personal estaba detrás de nosotros y también dijo que deberían obtener más porque pagaron más por ello, y luego, lamentablemente, solo obtuvimos una papa asada en un plato y 2 en otro, supongo porque en ese momento la bandeja estaba casi todos se han ido, pero luego vimos a otros obtener más asados cuando se rellenó la bandeja y son nuestros favoritos, así que fue un poco decepcionante, especialmente porque estaban tan deliciosos. ¿la cena de domingo más sabrosa que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo?

We recently visited The Alex to have a family meal whilst visiting Llandudno. We were bitterly disappointed with our meals. I ordered a chicken burger which was just a battered chicken portion, deep fried and just thrown between 2 halves of a stale bread roll. The beef burger was ok that the other half ordered and an over baked lasagne for my son. All in all an extremely disappointing meal. The staff were very nice and helpful, just the food let this place down.
