The Albert serves a lovely Sunday roast dinner, I had the roast beef washed down with a pint of Guinness and my partner had the roast lamb and a vodka and tonic

Alex who served us was a legend, real chill guy and had great recommendations! Will come back because of him!

Lovely pub with very nice comfort food selection, everything on the menu appealed to us. Good beer selection too. Nice outside area in a charming part of London. So why is the staff so uninterested and rude? Amazing. Even customers who genuinely ask how they are get rebuffed. Mad. Such a shame.

We chose The Albert for my boyfriend’s 40th party in the pub garden and we are so glad we did. The staff were so helpful in the pre-organisation, catering to our wish list and our needs, and we worked with the chef, John, to design a menu that worked for us. On the night, the food was above and beyond what we were expecting. Would highly recommend.

Really good beer garden, but closed rather early and then the pub was packed inside. When we were there the food order was messed up so waited ages and eventually had to chase.

I live around the corner from the Albert. It’s such a nice pub but so badly run, it’s a shame. They used to have a great pub quiz every Tuesday but the sound system was always broken so that stopped. And the fridge upstairs with the wine in doesn’t work. They serve expensive warm white and rose. It’s been broken for years. Why not just get a fridge that works? The staff are generally unfriendly although occasionally someone is ok. Wish they’d sort it out.

Lovely Pub tucked away from the main road . We came across this pub via walking down the main road and just saw it by chance on Bank Holiday Monday. The lady who served us was nice and polite. Lovely garden too. Highly recommended 💗

Staff absolutely rude. I am a local resident. During covid, I supported this pub, buying mulled wine and beers in plastic cups at the window. Regret having done that now after the treatment we received this weekend. Simply rude staff and an especially rude publican. A lot of other options in the neighbourhood less than 5 minutes away. Not coming back.

An amazing hidden gem! We were at the Zoo and didn’t want to eat there. We stumbled over this Pub and it’s just amazing! The waitress is really nice and the food just lovely.

I had the chicken roast. Although it was pretty busy the food wasn’t too long of a wait and FOR SURE worth waiting for! Was delicious and full of flavour, just a little under temperature. But was amazing and can be overlooked. Nice friendly and helpful gentleman behind the bar. For the price it’s great.

I was on a hunt for great places to have a beer or something else to drink. In my search I stumbled upon this amazing place. I did not know what to expect, though I had already seen photos from there. As I entered, I felt a sense of coziness. This place stands out with its variety Og what looks like a pub/Cafe, but also with its outdoor area. It's lovely to see the variation suiting whatever mood you're in. I was met with smiles and a great service from the two people serving me. They have a lovely mulled wine, and a great selection of beer. I can highly recommend this place!

Nice pub, decent food and a good choice of beers. Cocktails were decent but its not a cocktail bar. Fast service and friendly atmosphere.

Great to have this pub back in Primrose Hill, three years now since it re-opened. The service has got better in the last few months. The food is pretty good, though can quality can dip when very busy. But best of all is the wide range of ever changing beers.

Cracking Sunday roast, service slow but friendly ( booked for 2pm and finally got food at 3pm) good sized portions and well cooked, good value. Strange incident at the till when they tried to charge an extra £12.... I questioned it and it was corrected. Didn't stop me rom leaving a tenner tip though

Waren im Zoo, hatten Hunger und durst unf sind hier gelandet. Essen war richtig lecker und Getränke waren top. Wenn ich wieder mal von Deutschland nach London komme, werde ich definitiv wieder hier essen

Outstanding pub with great indoor and outdoor spaces.

Stopped in at this pub while visiting Primrose Hill and wasn't overly impressed. When we walked in we were completely ignored by the staff who were inside. One staff member announced loudly she would be taking her smoke break took off leaving us standing there awkwardly unsure of whether to seat ourselves in their beer garden out back. When we asked we were motioned to go find a table but not told about a food menu or if we order from the bar. Eventually we ventured up to the bar and grabbed an order of drinks and took a menu. The bartender was having issues with her keg and kept getting majority foam in the beer. My fiancé mentioned he would be happy to try something else (since he didn't want a bad beer) and she responded saying "I don't want to waste it". Based on the service we decided to order some truffle fries as a snack instead of making this our dinner spot for the evening. The fries were 5/10. The ones at the bottom were covered in grease and overcooked. It's a shame this pub wasn't better since the décor and beer garden are lovely and its located close to Primrose which means its convenient to stop in at for people.

What a disappointment! We had heard amazing things about the Sunday lunch here. However, too much salt in everything - especially the roast chicken! - mushy veg, warmed up roast potatoes- the worst - and bisto gravy? The Yorkshire puddings were fab and it is a pretty pub.

Had a great time at the beer garden, it has heaters for when its colder which I love. Staff is friendly. The pub is away from the main road so isn't too busy.

Hidden little gem. Perfect for the walk between Paddington, along the canal, and past the zoo, on route to Camden Market. Would recommend it to anyone.

Really excellent pub with friendly, helpful staff, a great atmosphere, a wide range of patrons and a lovely beer garden. Plenty of beers to choose from and a good selection of reasonably priced wines. Since the end of lockdown, I have become a regular.

Stopped for a beer mid-arvo, mid-week. Probably not the best time to judge a place for not being lovely but with the time this place had to hand it could’ve improved on what looks like a good menu. Otherwise it is a handsome pub and is on a nice street and a stone’s throw from zoo

Came here this afternoon Was walking my dog fancied a pint outside , met a really nice chap outside and shared his table and offered to buy him a pint as well having wandered around PH getting a table outside on a hot day was a miracle 😃. I hadn’t actually had a beer for quite a long time so forgive me for being out of touch but £13.60 for 2 pints 😂 Jezos no wonder pubs are going bust or am I really out of touch? anyway the beer was nice the company was great but not surprised by the amount of people in there raiding the free tap water and drinking zero alcohol 🧐 The service was ok not exactly friendly but not rude either almost , nonchalant people just don’t smile anymore doubt il be back ,

Everything you want in a neighborhood pub

There are several long established pubs in the area, but this one was closed for many years. We had a lovely meal and the staff were friendly. The variety of beers is good and the garden very pleasant.

It’s a nice pub in the heart of Camden, near Regent Park. Stuffs are very helpful and polite. Good & drinks both are pretty good. They have outside arrangements to sit and enjoy in summer. Overall nice experience. It’s better to reserve table in well advance so that you don’t have to rush. Highly recommended. 😀

Nice pub down a quiet street. Had a roast which initially looked small but in the end was very filing and fully recommend. Jazz came on which was good but they used an amplifier which wasn't needed in a small inside pub and we couldn't hear each other talk. Recommend if you're in the area

I'm a massive pub fun, so I might not always be the best person to ask - since I like them all. The Albert has a beautiful beer garden, comfortable seating, great beer and that cozy atmosphere I'm in love with. Food was ok, service was great and atmosphere is lively and happy.

I have previously rated this 5* and as a local have enjoyed the beer garden and the pub itself a lot. Today has, been frankly horrific. I appreciate a sunny bank holiday Saturday will be busy but having waited about an hour for a burger that was my 2bd choice as my first choice had sold out, I was informed they had no burgers left (though the lady and her little boy beside me who ordered a long time after me got theirs). I was offered a full refund and a chicken burger. I appreciated the gesture as I was very hungry. I had to queue for another drink and my food finally turned up. To to my total disgust the chicken burger was completely raw in the middle. I refused another one as I actually feel quite sick now. I guess eat here at your peril and avoid busy sunny days....

Great pub with great outdoor area and friendly staff. Vegan roast was very flavorful and yummy. If you order vegan vs vegetarian, you don’t get the Yorkshire pudding and they don’t give you more of anything else to replace it - even though the price is the same.

Last minute drop in due to a car breakdown at london zoo. staff were amazing, friendly, quick to offer chargers, very welcoming and lovely about my child coming in, food was amazing, great atmosphere. Gutted this isn’t my local and is like 100miles away from my house. Otherwise I’d have found myself a new pub! The lad behind the bar who put my Phone on charge was so lovely. What a hidden gem! Thank you to all the staff who made a stressful day end on a great note 🫶

I am recently over stomach surgery. I was delighted with the trout on the menu. The selection was vast and all meals were very tasty.

Lovely pub serving great London Pride.

This is by some mileage the worst roast I’ve ever eaten in London. It took over an hour for our order to reach the table. The vegetables were variously cold or undercooked. My son was served calamari that was in contrast completely overcooked, rubbery, an odd colour and literally inedible. Abysmal. We will never return.

The food was tasteless. We had the burger and the chicken burger All people, avoid choosing this food 5 stars would be for the roast

This five stars is only for Angela, she’s amazing. She managed the pub on her own on 26th December, we went there and no one was there to serve us and many others just Angela was so polite and friendly and tried to do her best.

🚇 Chalk Farm 🍺 £6.50 Budvar ❤️ A splendid Victorian Primrose Hill pub. . The Albert is located in pretty Primrose Hill and close to the entrance to Regent’s Park. The nearest tube is Chalk Farm, Camden Town tube is a similar distance away. . This pub closed its doors in 2015 and was destined to become yet another victim of vulturous developers, thankfully after the tenacity of the local community and councillors this pub reopened its doors in 2020. . The architecture of this pub in quintessential Victorian. This three storey beauty is clad in sumptuous green glazed tiles, painted a pale green and has gorgeous stained glass windows. . Inside the decor is elegant simplicity with subtle Victorian touches. This is a one bar pub with a horseshoe servery taking centre stage. The seating is a mix of comfy burgundy leather banquettes, a poser table and intimate circular tables and stools. At the rear of the pub is a large beer garden with is accessible through a cosy conservatory. . As this is a Freehouse the beer choice was diverse and often rotates. There were two cask ales on at the time of visiting supplied by @leedsbrewery . I decided on a pint of Budvar which was a decent tipple, price point was to be expected. The food is all about gastro-style British pub grub and roasts on a Sunday, Fish & Chips costs £16. . The atmosphere was great, the pub was busy and starting to fill up prior to the Portugal v Morocco game. The crowd was mixed and from all generations. I sat next to a nice young couple who’s puppy was very keen to introduce himself to me. . The @albertprimrose is a superb pub and for me, my favourite pub in Primrose Hill. The building is absolutely stunning and the decor creates a welcoming ambiance which makes having a pint here a pleasurable experience. I was in the area & located this pub the Roast chicken 🍗 with caramelised vegetables & Yorkshire pudding was worth the wait, The staff that work in the pub work hard to accommodate the customers , & the entertainment turned up as you can see on the videos that followed thanks for your hospitality

Roast was tasty and the beef very tender but unfortunately it was cold, as was the coffee. The person at the bar was apologetic and took the roast back to heat up. 10 minutes later he returned but unfortunately it was only just slightly warmer. I wouldn't return there to there to eat.

A comfortable pub with a cosy private garden. I purchased a £17 burger with fries. It’s difficult to overstate the discrepancy between the quality and the price; I’m confident you could easily find better food for under £5 from a chicken shop. It was small, unseasoned, oily and sad looking. And the pub knows this because some of the other food looked and tasted okay. £17…

Went in on our way home from a day at the zoo. With my two daughters. Lovely atomosphere as we walked in. Like a proper old local. A real 'mish mash' of clientèle. Three ales on handpump to choose from! Had a pint of Leeds Brewery, Samba, very nice. Then we ordered food, 3 steak and onion sandwiches, on sourdough bread and fries and one 10oz rib-eye steak... all superb! Then a pint of Dark Star, Hophead, beautiful. My daughter ordered an apple pie and ice cream, it looked like it was homemade. Lovely end to a great day!
