Giving 3 stars but only because we were disappointed to see that dogs aren't welcome and we had to carry on to find somewhere else for breakfast.

Great place for a Sunday. We had homemade steak pie.. food was hot and plentiful. Reasonably priced and staff friendly...

Nice food and friendly staff. Gets very busy but on a nice day they have tables in the garden. Well worth a visit.

Situated on the A68 between Bishop Auckland and Corbridge just outside the village of Tofthill. Food is always good and good value for money. On our last visit it now seems they also offer onsite accommodation with stunning views. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Friendly, courteous,and attentive staff giving pleasant vibes that carried across our fellow diners. Food was served rapid quick, my wife had home-made corned beef pie and chips, I had steak pie and chips, the pie was packed with succulent steak. Well worth the visit. Fantastic views as well!

Very nice food but very expensive, £20 for 2 bacon/egg rolls and 2 coffee's, was really nice but just expensive

Great place to stop off for something to eat. Lunch time is a busy time but they have an excellent seniors two course menu worth trying.

We always enjoy our visits here, a nice welcome, good food, clean & tidy. The prices are ok and fair value for money. Great views from it's elevated position outside, better enjoyed on a warmer day not so much in January.

Called in the 68 cafe for the first time today and will certainly be back, the staff are so friendly and polite and the food was excellent, hot and fresh, plenty of choice. The cafe is spotless and plenty of parking. Thank you for a lovely visit.

Had an amazing Sunday lunch, plenty of beef, 4 veg , new and roasties and the all important home made Yorkshire pudding Yum

Wow what a find on a really long journey. Food was fantastic and the cakes were out of this world. A must if you need to stop or live near by. Staff were excellent

They allow dogs outside, but be aware that some of the outside seating area is covered in astro turf, which is not good for dogs. Take out coffee was acceptable and the caramel cake was very dry. Service was good and fairly quick

We Visit this place often ,always good food.

Just used the outside coffee truck but sun ☀ was shining so sat in garden to drink our coffee and eat our cake

We have passed here several times never thinking to stop. We did stop this time and loved it. Great service, a good cup of tea and a slice of lovely home made cake.

This was a great stop on our way through. Sometimes it’s hard to find gluten free food on the road, and the 68 Cafe hit the spot with gluten free paninis. The serving sizes were generous, the dishes were creative, and the food was tasty. We finished off our meals with a slice of gluten free carrot cake (excellent) and gluten free chocolate cake (which was a bit dry and the only disappointment here).

Small café foods simple and service quick and with a smile few more vegan options on desserts would be nice but overall very nice..view is hard to beat

Busy café. Easy to find with enough parking. Large portions were tasty and warm. Reasonably priced.

Was OK for a small breakfast, and it was a small one. But at large breakfast price. Tea extra.

This cafe has always been dog friendly but they've now changed their policy and we were refused entry this morning. Very disappointed and won't be visiting again. Dog walkers beware - this is no longer a friendly cafe

Just called in for some cake and coffee. Service was very good, friendly, and helpful. The prices are very reasonable, and the menu looked quite varied. I sat outside where the views are excellent. Would recommend.

Found this little gem purely by chance on route up North. Ample car/motor cycle parking, well maintained both outside and in main Cafe, clean, lots of room both inside and in the well presented and maintained garden area. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful with a smile. The menu was comprehensive catering to all tastes, without being over priced. Being Sunday when we attended the place was full of what appeared to be regulars for the clearly popular Sunday roast, and what a hearty fabulous looking plateful you had delivered. We would certainly highly recommend this roadside Cafe to all travellers, one not to be missed if your in the North East.

Stopped for breakfast before the long trip home. It was all cooked perfectly and very tasty.

Lovely service and food was delicious- we were staying in the nearby pods and they dropped off to food to us which was really convenient. Prices are also decent for what you get too When I eventually get a car I’m sure I’ll be back here!

Out for a nice ride out. Came across this cafe. Good assortment of food, Sunday lunch looked very nice, we had hot beef sandwich with chips. Lovely. Nice friendly staff. Good assortment of desserts too.

Although it was Mothers Day and we hadn't booked anywhere for lunch , we managed to get a table at The 68 Cafe . 3 adults , we all had roast beef Sunday lunches . 1 piece of caramel cake ( it was quite a large piece ) and 1 Apple and blackberry crumble with custard . 1 decaf tea , 1americano (large ) and a flat white ( large ) , also a fentimans soda .Total about £52 Well worth it and the atmosphere was buzzing . First time here and wow well impressed out with friends for lunch Ordered the steak pie and they didn't disappoint so much meat and loads of gravy with boiled potatoes and vegetables Very impressed from start to finish We shall certinaly be back

It was packed but it didn't take long to serve us we both had mince and dumplings with vegetables. I don't know what I expected but I was disappointed.

Just driven 30 mins to bring my daughter here and its closed even though it says it closes at 4.30pm .. and it's only 3.15pm.. Won't be coming back here again.

Lovely fry up breakfast. Good variety in choice in the English breakfast menu to suit everyone. There are plenty of parking spaces. Clean and tidy inside. Will come back.

Visited for breakfast was led to a seat next to the door I asked to be seated further in this was met with derision by a snouty nosed waitress with a poor attitude. She then left us sitting for 15 minutes walking by with a sarcastic smile and not taking our order. Perhaps a course on customer care wouldn’t go amiss here. We left, I’m not paying good money for poor service.

Wir waren hier per Zufall auf der Durchreise Richtung Schottland für ein spätes Frühstück. Das 68 bietet eine große Auswahl an Gerichten für Frühstück, Dinner, Lunch und Kaffee. Das 'Full English Breackfast' war lecker zubereitet, kam schnell und war sein Geld mehr als Wert. Weil die Kuchen so gut aussahen, haben wir auch da noch zugeschlagen und etwas mitgenommen (sehr empfehlenswert). Wer in der Gegend ist, sollte hier unbedingt einen Stopp einlegen.

Beautiful location. Its a while since we visited but was very disappointed with the lack of fruit in our toasted teacake and it was only half toasted. My coffee was weak but tea was nice.

We hadn't visited for a few years but were looking forward to returning. My wife's tea was lovely but my coffee was very poor with little taste and to cold. We tried a large toasted teacake. Half toasted and lacking fruit for its price. Overall very disappointed.
