Our first time here and it wont be our last. Lovely tasting coffee and cake with a good selection of sweet treats. It's so nice to see all the ducks running around,it's truly a unique experience. Can't wait to come back 😆

We had a lovely breakfast here today, with a beautiful view of the pond. Service was friendly 😊 Was fun to see all the animals, the garden centre has a variety of plants also at good prices. Will definitely be back, thank you!

I went to Tea Rooms today with my friend's suggestion. It's a really great place. It would probably be even better in spring and summer. Also, my children had a great time with the animals. I'll go again at the first opportunity. Also, the staff is very polite and smiling.

Food is delicious. Was very busy today when we went and we didn't get our veg with our meal despite asking but overall it's a lovely tearoom and the food is good. Very picturesque and lovely to be able to feed the ducks after buying some feed in the cafe. Lots of free parking and is dog friendly on the outside inside bit.

Great little cafe for breakfast or lunch. Food is good and fairly priced, decor is homely and clean, lovely lake outside where you can sit on a nice day. New French doors and window have extended the weatherproof area so you can now sit "outside" inside.

Adore this café! In fact it has to be my favourite - it is so beautiful here with the lake, and seeing all the wildlife. The food is spot on everytime, always fresh and delicious! The staff are always very welcoming too - Lakeside Tearoom is the place to be!

The cafe is always lovely to visit, good selection of cakes, as well as breakfast and lunch options. I got a tea and a almond and apricot cake which was nice. Highlight of the visit was seeing all of the animals - there are loads of ducks, mini hens, peacocks, mini goats and an aviary as well.

How gorgeous is this tearoom?! Fantastic views. Managed to see a comerant, a heron, and loads of ducks 😀 The food was lovely. A bit pricey, but that's what you expect from tearooms these days. Service was quick and it was all beautifully presented. And my god, that scone was good! Overall a really good day out. I'll definitely be back in the spring for the nursery too!

Been here a few times. This time the food was expensive for what you got. It's 9.99 for a slice of pie, chips, with side garnish of coleslaw/salad or 6.50 for pie on its own, however we didn't want the chips but still had to pay 9.99 for quite a small piece of pie and spoonful of coleslaw and salad. £25 for two pies and two teas. Pie was tasty though. 3.49 is a lot for but side garnish. 😔😊

Hidden gem of a place. Beautiful setting where you can enjoy a lovely cuppa with a gorgeous selection of cakes, and sit looking out onto a lake. So relaxing! They do hot food too. I had homemade soup which was delicious and husband had jacked potato - done properly, not microwaved! Highly recommend trying if you’ve not been.

My daughter and I visited for her little birthday treat. We both had homemade broth ,which was gorgeous. Then followed by homemade walnut cake, and a frangipan tart, and coffee. The ladies serving were all pleasant and efficient. The tearoom is so pretty ,with big windows that look out onto the duck pond. Cant wait for the warmer weather then you are able to sit outside. 😎

I think this place is a hidden gem with absolutely gorgeous scenery and Delicious cakes. We used to go a lot but the menu is quite expensive for what you get and some of the staff just seem like they don’t want to be there which is disappointing to see but some are very bubbly and friendly. Nether the less It’s a nice trip out especially with the shops and garden centre too!

The food we had was good but a bit bland. We didn't get our 1st choice (1 quiche and 1 pulled beef) as they said they didn't have either, yet we saw quiche in the chiller cabinet before we left. It was busy so we waited longer than usual. The staff were attentive & helpful.

Got there ordered 3 all day breakfasts as it stated on the Facebook menu that these were served 11:30- 3pm. Paid for them aswell as a cup of tea and 2 cans of pop came to £31.80. The lady came out to give us our drinks and she was polite, stated that she had made a mistake and they don’t serve all day breakfasts but would allow it this time as she didn’t know herself and apologised. I mentioned it said on the Facebook menu that there was an all day breakfast and she said she would let the other staff know for it to be changed/taken off. Our breakfasts then came out and the woman who brought them over spoke to us in a horrible tone and manor stating what the other lady had told us but as if she was angry that she had to make the breakfasts, if she had of came out and said sorry but the breakfasts finished at 11:30 and asked us to pick something else it would have been fine but we were told they were still making them as it was the staff members mistake. I personally won’t be returning as I think customer service is a must in places like this and that lady obviously hasn’t got any. Supporting small businesses is something I agree with but won’t be supporting somewhere with bad customer service from staff.

A local pub with a pool table a big screen tv. It's in a residential area. We just had a couple of early evening drinks, I had the guest beer which was a very tasty Golden Ale and the house Malbec was very good too. The log burner was just what was needed on a very cold night. The was no food being served, but the friendly barman helpfully recommended a couple of restaurants very nearby. We went one and his recommendation was spot on. I'd go back when back in Durham

First time in this quaint local cafe, and although I live very close, i have never been. The staff were very pleasant and served in good time. I had the chilli con carne and rice with caramel short bread washed down with a latte. This was really good and will certainly be back. The cafe is hidden from the main road to the rear of Vane Tempest hall, and has scenic surroundings. Worth a visit.
