Great, place. Was in the area and fancied some food so found this place last minute. Food was lovely and the place was quirky.

Unique set up with a great atmosphere. Brilliant selection of drinks coupled with great service .staff are so helpful. A must place to visit

Hellish place to drink and eat food is nice and the range of drinks to choose from is brilliant dog friendly too can’t beat a pint with the pup 👌👌

Great gin bar with a funky decorum, fantastic selection of drinks and has the benefit of some fantastic food from the outdoor kitchen serving burgers, pizzas and a rotating menu. Its super dog friendly and welcomes all dogs inside, staff are very friendly and polite. Gets busy on a weekend night but is very chilled if you go lunchtime/afternoon. Honestly one of the best places we can go with our dog.

I really want to say how amazing the staff are in this place. We got the bottomless brunch and unlike some other places where you're trying to flag a bar person down for a top up here they were straight over to the table without us even calling out. Made the night run so smoothly. They were friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for a great night. Food was lovely too.

Appalling customer sevice ! Booked for 20 people to do a brunch for a birthday , paid 200 pound deposit 6 -7.30 then obvs staying for the evening only to discover a few weeks before they had let someone change their House Music night with djs etc. To the same night . No phone call to let me know and it was a family group with 60 and 70 year olds attending . Was told by a very patronising "manager" all they could do was "put us out of the way of the decks " and ask the dj not to start till 8.30. So basically 20 of us paying 30 pound each to more or less eat and drink up then leave . So 600 pound in total . I asked to cancel and get my deposit back but she just smirked her way through the conversation and said no. So I asked for a credit note to use at a later date and could only do that if I booked another 20 person slot . So I have lost 200 pound !

Going inside of the Aviator, you would think you are boarding a first class flight...TO GIN HEAVEN! divine gin drinks and first-class service. I was served by a Maddi who attended to all my wishes. 10/10 if I could score any higher I would!

Lovely little surprise in the industrial estate. Great food, the staff were friendly and helpful. A fanstatic Greek food company working out of this area, too. Well worth a visit for a gyros and a beer.

Rough and ready no frills venue

Such a cool bar with great music, really friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks. The 2 for £12 cocktails and the Greek food are not to be missed! I’ll definitely be coming back😁

I've had a mix of experiences here, both good and bad hence 4 starts. I keep going due to the quality of the drinks and food being exceptional. Good Drinks are average price I'd say but the taste and quality is exceptional. Atmosphere is normally great and friendly staff. Love the aviation theme. Food from the Greek restaurant on site is also exceptional, I'm a huge fan of Gin and Greek food so the place is on to a winner for me. Bad We booked a table here around a year ago (myself and my wife) for our first night out in 2 years after the birth of our daughter. I'd spent months preaching to her about this place, so i was excited to take her here. Upon arriving the doors were locked and knocking generated no response. After another group turned up to the same issue we caught sight of staff through the window who eventually answered the door, to be told they have closed early as its quiet and would let us in for one drink. Having booked a table, a taxi and arranged childcare I wasn't impressed, we abandoned any plans and drove home. Due to being related to someone who knows the Ower I bit my tongue on social media but found this extremely frustrating. If there's an event on the queue for the bar is ridiculous to the point you'd get a drink then have to join the queue again for how long it takes to get served. We normally just leave. Overall I love the place but we pick when we visit.

First time for us at The Aviator, really enjoyed the set up, lovely staff, good service and the food was excellent, will defo be back.

Amazing! It’s a cute little place, we were greeted by a lovely lady from the bar - the bar with a helicopter above it! They have aeroplane seats and sides of aircraft, all sorts! The food was lovely, very fresh and made by a lovely man. All home made! Will be coming back for sure!

Evening event, nice bar however plan to bring a group to a gin making session. Love the ideas for Christmad presents. Happy to support this young but vibrant business.

Really poor. Service was slow and disorganised,Poor communication between staff. Drinks overpriced. Layout poor. Wanted to come home early but waiting for taxi, waiting for home time, wouldn’t go again.

Fantastic bar! The staff could not do enough for you, and have a superb variety of drinks on offer! Obviously, it is a gin bar, however the bar offers a wide variety of draught beers, wines and spirits. Also ask the staff for a cocktail, these guys know their stuff!!

Love this place! Good variety of drinks, not only their own amazing gins and cocktails. Great atmosphere made extra special by the staff who are all so friendly and welcoming. No request is too much and they always go above and beyond to look after us. Very lucky to have this on our doorstep

This place is amazing! Fantastic cocktail menu, local bottle beers and wonderful atmosphere not to mention the staff with their attention to detail in all they do! I can't wait for the venue to open inside for another visit!

Great bar with a great atmosphere, staff are friendly and helpful. The best thing about this bar for me is the cocktail list it is amazing all freshly mixed and served in fancy glasses (very important!!). The owners are often in the bar and always happy to chat and give you the background to the bar and the Gin Distillery which is on the same site as the bar.

We’ve been a few times and have always had a wonderful experience. Friendly service, always with a smile and a great atmosphere too. The interior is unique - where else would you have a helicopter up above the bar?! I can’t wait to visit again and try some of the cocktails and ever expanding range of gins and vodkas.

Brilliant atmosphere with truly one of a kind decor that is on its own worth a visit. Topped off with a fantastic repertoire of drinks including their phenomenal craft guns.

Amazing place! Fantastic service, really different from the usual pubs! Nothing is a problem and the team are always looking to improve. If there is any drink they don't have, they will try their best to accommodate you. And the outside space is the best in Aycliffe for all weather. This was our first night out since the relaxation of lockdown and we definitely picked the right venue. Although the bar is based on an industrial estate you wouldn't know it as the team have managed to crate a great atmosphere in their outside space. Staff were friendly and attentive, the gin was superb as you might expect with a great range of alternative drinks to choose from for the non-gin drinkers. We'll definitely be making a return visit when we can sit inside and marvel at the fantastic aviation-themed bar!!

Love this place, the gin is the best my wife has ever tasted (and we've purchased some from the online Herbal Gin Company as well), the aviation theme is fantastic and shows the efforts that the owners have gone to make it so. I think that the drinks are fairly priced, the location is convenient for a walk to and when you get here you won't be disappointed with the atmosphere, it's unique and quirky with plenty of space, also you won't be crammed in like sardines and walking on sticky carpets like you might in other establishments. This is definitely a venue for grown-ups! 100% recommended.

Nicish drink, cool atmosphere, vastly overpriced for the location. The cocktail was 5/10 at best.
