The 40 Elephants in City of London, Westminster

Beth fue la gran miembro del equipo de los 40 Elefantes que nos saludaron y sirvieron nuestras tres bebidas: Abeja la Reina, la Coartada y la del diamante. El servicio fue absolutamente perfecto. Era mi segunda visita al bar 40 Elephants después de una experiencia fantástica con Alberto y su equipo. Esta noche, Beth estuvo súper atenta y dedicada a ofrecer un servicio de excelencia. Sin duda recomendaría pasar tiempo de calidad en el bar en sí y, por supuesto, explorar el fascinante diseño de interiores y la decoración alrededor. Probablemente, una excelente ubicación para reunir a la gente si también se considera el acceso directo a las salas de reuniones en la planta - 1.

Souvenir extraordinaire au bar « 40 éléphants » du Great Scotland Yard Hotel à Londres. Alberto nous a servi un savoureux cocktail. Le décor est fantastique : il rappelle l’époque où le gang des 40 éléphants, exclusivement féminin, se livrait à des cambriolages de toute nature. Chaque détail est croustillant : un rêve artistique.

Tuvimos una velada fantástica, múltiples veces con Victorio. Él era un gran servidor en el bar, nos hizo bebidas fantásticas y nos recomendó las comidas más fantásticas cuando estábamos demasiado cansados para salir a comer fuera del hotel Recomiendo venir al bar solo una visita, Vittorio de Sicilia y que te haga un gran cóctel Negroni!

Great bar, not too noisy, not too dark, with interesting cocktails and tasty snacks. Best of all the staff were great. It's pricey but not snooty. I had to wait for my friend to arrive and didn't feel pressured into ordering.

We stayed in the hotel for about 4 nights, but we only got the experience 40 elephants during our last night. And honestly, thinking back I regret it. The staff was absolutely amazing and attentive, they were ready to take our order whenever we wanted. Although we thought that the price was kind of expensive (I think it was 20 pounds for 1 drink), I quickly realized that this is a standard price for a drink in the centre, and there were bars that were even more expensive. I had a Clever club, and I was absolutely blown away with the amount of flavor this drink had! I could taste the rose water and peach most a honestly, the combination was surprisingly super sweet. Overall, I’m extremely grateful we got to spend our last moments in London in this beautiful bar. Thank you !

Terrible! Turned up on time, they had our reservation but nowhere to seat us, so ended up seating us in a function room out of the way. Bar staff were incredibly stressed and rude because of this. Badly managed. They clearly didn’t have the staff for the amount of customers-solution is that you tell customers there will be a wait and also don’t over fill the bar when you can’t deal with the customers, this is greed. Ordered some cocktails and the second time arouund with the same cocktail the glass was half empty, we said we weren’t happy and yet again the bar staff tried to fob us off. Said we didn’t have to pay for our drinks but actually we would have preferred to pay and have the good service and correct measures. So disappointed, will not be returning.

We were going to have dinner in Ekstedt restaurant also in the hotel so popped into this bar for a pre dinner drink. Nice atmosphere, good service and a lovely bottle of champagne. We will definitely use this place again

Great place for after show (Jersey Boys) cocktails Staff were fantastic & attentive The pair of us had 2 rounds of cocktails, Pakoras (4 in a portion) possibly the best ever fries * a cheese platter. Cost was £121, not the cheapest but not the most expensive in Central London

Very impressive cocktails at this centrally located bar, found quite by lucky accident! Very friendly and welcoming bar staff and the most imaginative and well made cocktails I’ve had in a very long time. All made as they should be with the correct equipment, quality ingredients and expertly garnished and served in appropriate quality glasses - all by extremely well trained staff. The perfect cocktail does still exist …. Albeit at a price!

Sat on the high chairs. I was asked to look for the menus on the internet. Really to much grief so I asked for the menu. The waiter gave the menus and we ordered wine and a cocktail. Both were fine, the lounge and toilets are super clean. My only negative is the waitress. It looked like she worked in McDonald’s as she was wearing a card badge ganging on a cord by her side. Looked extremely unprofessional for such an establishment.

We visited this bar after an awful experience at the Claridges Bar (see my review). My wife was able to book a table for half an hour's time and we arrived - what an amazing place! Housed in the beautiful Great Scotland Yard Hotel, this is definitely a hidden gem. the cocktails were amazing (and £16 in London is great value). Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Will most definitely return.

A pre-theatre meal on a Bank Holiday Monday - it was quieter than I would expect on a more normal evening, but was absolutely perfect for what we wanted! The music was loud enough to be atmospheric, but not intrusive for our table of 4. We sat high on the bar stools in the middle of the room and enjoyed cocktails, burgers and wine! Our waiter, Paul, looked after us with the perfect level of attentiveness and we had a really relaxed time. The menu is pretty short and the sausage rolls were not the best, but that hasn't put us all off talking about "when we return". Note that in answering the questionnaire below I have said that this is a good restaurant for lunch or dinner and say this with the proviso that you check the menu (on line?) before booking to know if it will meet your needs because there is a limited choice, but was perfect for what we wanted.

We are staying in the hotel where this var is located. We had another restaurant in covent garden booked for this evening, but they cancelled at short notice because of Covid, which was perfectly understandable but left us looking for alternatives. This bar as well as doing excellent drinks also does some food and we decided to give it a go and are glad we did. The food was simple and basic but there was plenty of it and it was very tasty. This when combined with drinks was a very welcome change and be would eat here again.

Friendly staff. Great story behind the bar, so much so I looked it up on the internet on my return. Very nice.

We went here to have a drink. A bank holiday late afternoon and the place was empty! Francisco greeted us, once seated he was deciphered our taste in drinks so as to make a cocktail personal to each of us. The drinks were all lovely, but at £17 a glass we were a bit taken back as they were only half a glass. We felt was they were overpriced. At first I actually thought it was for us to taste & the actual drink would arrive if it was to our liking. In hindsight we should have asked for a drinks menu, for prices etc. Safe to say that was our one and only drink here!! The hotel is beautiful and to toilets are spotless. We would have liked to have been given some information on the history of the building as it was previously used by Great Scotland Yard. Unfortunately we didn’t and we couldn’t find anything whilst there.

Only dropped in for a cocktail but ended up being given a history lesson and tour by the manager, and it was awesome . Staff could not do enough for you, including off the menu cocktails of your choice. This is a relatively new place but has a really fantastic future and you need to head there. Cannot wait to visit again

We stayed in the hotel for a short break and, as it was pouring with rain one evening, found ourselves in the bar...how lucky we were. From the bar staff (so friendly) to the drinks and the freshly made and tasty bar food we had a pleasant and memorable evening. Highly recommended!

We were served by Dan who went the extra mile to ensure that we all had a wonderful time. Attention to detail was there throughout the whole evening. The execution and flavours of the cocktails after listening to our preferences was exemplary. The food was unique and wonderful. Defo will recommend the Mushroom Scotch egg and the flat bread.

Incredible service, the barman (Dan) gave us a history lesson on the 40 Elephants gang - with a new story every time he served us a drink. Great cocktails and what topped it off was the barman overhearing me talking about my cocktail preferences in conversation and tailoring my next cocktail to my liking. Surprised it was not more busy!
