The 29029 Restaurant Wareham in Purbeck

We're staying in Wareham for a few days and popped into this restaurant for a buffet lunch, priced at £14.95 per person. Large carpark to the front of the restaurant, no designated blue badge spaces. However, there's plenty of parking & there is disabled access. We have a similar restaurant where we live, and there's far more selection with the buffet. The staff did their job but little more so the service was only average. The food itself, again was only average, and some of it wasn't even that hot. The toilets were freezing, so much so the toilet roll was damp and stuck together. Surely, they could stretch to having some form of heating in their restrooms. We wouldn't be returning to this restaurant and feel we couldn't recommend. There's certainly a lot of room for improvement. Please see my pictures. Hopefully, this helps.

We went to get take away as we had our dog with us, but they let us in. Had a delicious range of vegan and vegetarian foods. Highly recommended

This Indian-Nepalese restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting ambiance and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The menu is a perfect blend of traditional Indian and Nepali flavors, offering a delightful variety of dishes to satisfy any palate. The *butter chicken* was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, while the *momos* (Nepalese dumplings) were simply out of this world – tender, flavorful, and served with a deliciously tangy dipping sauce. The spices were just right, balancing heat and flavor without overpowering the dish. The service was impeccable, with the staff going out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or looking to try something new with a Nepali twist, this place is an absolute must-visit. I can’t wait to return and try more of their incredible offerings. Went in a group and everything was delicious. Its a hidden gem and our exceeded our expectations.

In the last few months my family and I have dined in and ordered a takeaway from here. Both times we have been impressed by the food and tried a lot of new dishes. Our favourite is the Mixed Platter- for someone who isn’t the biggest fan of Nepalese/Indian food I felt it was amazing to give me a taste of different dishes. Recently I tried the King Prawn Korma, which is my only disappointment, as I only got 5 in the whole dish. Which I have no idea if that’s normal, but with the amount of sauce I had in the dish it became tedious to eat after a while. Other than that, this place always provides good food, and good service when dining in. I found the atmosphere a bit flat when I have dined in, but this could’ve just been a quiet night. Other than that, this restaurant is one of our favourites!

We had an excellent supper there tonight. Very wide range of food on the menu. Reasonable prices. Very good service. Will go there again.

Came across this restaurant accidentally. Was pleasantly surprised with the food it was quite tasty. Service was relatively good too. We didn’t appreciate the sauces and chutney being charged despite not being requested. It felt like it should be complimentary.

Selected this restaurant with a lot of expectations. But it was not that satisfying experience. The Buffet lunch- not much to select. Two chicken , one pork, two veg, one rice and naan to select from. Salads are there. Unfortunately all curry and dishes were too sweet. Rice was not tasty and deserts were just for namesake. We were the last customers, still the deserts were looked like no one touched at all. Think about again if you want authentic Indian or Nepali cuisines.. service was not the best too.

Unexpectedly got really nice near Durdle Door

We found this restaurant on Google. Very pleased we found it, the food was flavorful. The food is slightly pricey, but the service and quality of the food justified it. We had a lamb biriani, peshawi naan bread, onion bhaji, and a beef stir fry with mash (Nepalese). The flavours were different from what you'd expected in a very good way. Nothing was overcooked or oily, and it arrived hot. The person who served us was very friendly and explained it is a family business and their Dad was the chef. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. We enjoyed the food so much I didn't take any pictures. This place had halal options on the chicken, lamb, and beef. Call up to clarify beforehand what is halal.

Excellent Indian restaurant in Wareham. All the dishes were extremely scrumptious. Loved the sea food platter - the salmon fish and tiger prawns are a must have! The Kerala prawns main course dish was also a delight. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Dorset area.

We (family of 3) came across this restaurant purely by luck. We were craving for a authentic Indian food after a visit to Durdle door. We came here as this restaurant was en route our hotel stay. One of the best Indian foods I had here. Most likely one of the bests in UK. Quantity/dish size was also very good. Service was great as well. We stay far otherwise I would have definitely visited this place every month at least. .

We had our lunch from here on our way back from Durdle door. The food was authentic and tasty. The service was great. Good and happy people running this restaurant gave us some really positive vibes. The place and toilet was all kept neat and tidy. We were highly satisfied with the meal and atmosphere. We will surely mark this place for our Durdle door visits.

Located about a a couple of miles outside of Wareham. We visited following a recommendation while on holiday in the area. Booked a table for Saturday night. Restaurant was very busy and had to wait for someone to leave before I could park. They had no record of my booking but managed to find us a table. A huge selection of choice on the menu. On ordering our main meals we were told to expect a delay of 30/40 minutes but as we had ordered pomperdoms we thought it would be ok. Nearly an hour later our food arrived. The food was excellent but our experience was marred by the wait. We arrived at 7.30 and left 2 hours later just having had pomperdoms and a main meals. Love the food and setting, hated the wait.

Amazing lunch buffet. Not a large selection, but the food was superb. Maybe add another dessert option alongside the Watermelon chunks. Waiter was friendly and attentive.

The food was amazing. Especially the Cinamon-covered Duck. This was my first experience with south asian food which turned out to be delicious. The staff were friendly too. I would recommend this place.

We came from Birmingham this was the best Indian/Nepalese food I’ve ever had. Everyone in the restaurant was so accommodating and the food was unreal. We will be back one day!

We were out for the day in the area and found this amazing restaurant on Google. It had some good vegan reviews so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The service was great and they were very accommodating. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely come back when we are in the area. We were very impressed and recommend to any vegans looking for great food.

I've driven past this restaurant for years and always wondered what it was like as never heard much about it,today we drove past and thought we have a look at the food and it looked absolutely lovely so we stayed for lunch, and I must say it's the best buffet lunch we've tried, the food was freshly cooked and tasted amazing all brought locally to, the restaurant was clean and looked lovely and itwas cheap! the staff were so polite the manager evan came over and had a chat to say hi to:) my partner is a big food snob and he was amazed how lovely it was we will definitely be returning again :)

We were on holiday and decided to try for my birthday. Being a chef of 40 years I love my food. This was the best Indian, Nepalese food I have ever had. We use to go to our local Indian once a week which was good but the service. taste and good vibes was great. We went back on Friday for buffet it was great too great value, be back when we are on holiday again.

Wow, what a hidden gem! Dined here with 7 others and we all agreed this is one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The team are really friendly and attentive and happy to cater to individual dietary requirements. Lots of delicious vegetarian options. Will be coming back!

Don’t order takeaway. Called up and ordered food to collect. Advised it would be no longer than 30 mins. Arrived at restaurant after 30 mins. Advised it would be ready in a few minutes. Waited 20 mins. No food. Asked where food was and they had t even started preparing. Wasted an hour of my evening without any food. No good. Left restaurant without food. Won’t be using this place again. Very poor communication between customer and between staff.

Popped in for lunch after morning in Wareham. Really happy to see a all yoivan eat buffet, for under £15. Really nice/ good food Will go back 👍

Popped in on a Saturday during the bank holiday weekend, it was reasonably busy but we managed to get a table for the 5 of us. We ordered our food and the starters came fairly quickly and were delicious. We then waited an hour (Actually felt it would have been longer if I hadn't mentioned it to the waiter) for the mains to arrive. The kids Korma and Bhuna were OK at best the lamb shank was alright, for some reason everything was garnished with stale french fries?? My garlic chilli chicken was awful. it was nuclear hot as if it had been microwaved then thrown on a plate, the chicken was almost all ropey overcooked leg meat as you could feel the crunchy, sinewy texture and certainly no decent bits of breast or thigh were used. The spinach tasted of warm tea bags with again some weird white strips of "Crunch" put on the top. We had to ask for the bill and again wait, to the extent I started sending the kids back to the car as they were shattered. the bill came to £130 odd and we were then asked how the food was, when we told them then we were offered compensation but it was late and in all fairness we had eaten the food. Paid in full but no tip left, if you go there and there's a problem maybe tell them there and then, or maybe don't set your expectations so high

I recently had the pleasure of dining here and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. Khim, the Nepalese chef, has an incredible talent for creating rich, authentic flavors that transported me straight to Nepal. What impressed me the most was the freshness of the ingredients and the meticulous presentation of each dish. Despite the high quality of the food, the prices were very affordable, making it a fantastic dining experience without breaking the bank. Highly recommended! 5 stars! I’ll be back !!

I’m unsure where all these 5 star reviews come from. It’s seems they are all composed reviews. Terrible place. Only saving grace is the food is good once you finally get it. Took 90+ mins to get food. Poppadoms had hair. Waiter was quite scary. We are local and won’t be supporting.

I have recently had worst experience in this restaurant. There was no information available regarding ingredients of buffet menu. Many vegetarian people got non veg food in their plates. Veg and non veg food was kept together and I suspect the serving spoon was common. I ended up eating plain roti and plain rice. We were a group of 10 people and all got disappointed with service and trauma. Never recommend to vegetarian people. The taste was average. But ambience was good.

Visited on a very peaceful Sunday. Loved the light and airey interior, contemporary style and furnishings. Food was very tasty (had the lamb) and delicately cooked. Might have preferred it to be a little more spicy. Service very good but it loses a star for charging £8.50 for a large glass of wine. Not sure that was necessary.

Great find, just wish we'd found it earlier on our holiday. Food amazing and generous portions. Unusual spicing and flavours. Not the usual curry house. Worth the extra expense. Try the duck it was special.

The food is high in salt, we were super thirsty after our meals, mango lasso too sweet- why to add sugar? mango is sweet enough, Staff a bit slow , needed to wave to ask for anything

We travel from Southampton to visit family near this delightful restaurant. We go often because of the excellent a la carte menu which has dishes you won’t get in an ordinary Indian restaurant. Curry fans will love this given the fresh approach the chef has. Spacious restaurant where you don’t feel crammed in. Staff are very friendly as well !

The 29029 is without a doubt one of my favourite restaurants! The food and service is always fantastic.

Food was outstanding. The service wasn't super fancy but the employees were very nice and the food absolutely makes up for it. The furniture is comfy and fun. One hasn't lived until they try the pokorra here.

We visited for the first time a few months ago, and was so impressed by the food, the hospitality and service we invited friends here for dinner. Once again, we were not disappointed. Even on a busy Friday night, service was swift, but not too swift, the food was delicious, and the service was great. I feel this place fast becoming a firm favourite for a treat out...and, it doesn't break the bank!

A must go, beautifully presented food served by efficient, friendly staff. Easy access and free car park on the doorstep. Pleasantly surprised by the price of evening meal and drinks for 4.

Lunch buffet for my birthday not as good as it used to be but service was exceptional

We went here for Mother’s Day lunch and opted to order from the main menu rather than the buffet (which looked to be extremely popular). At first, service was slightly slow but this was purely due to how busy it was. The food more than made up for this, every dish was presented exquisitely and tasted sensational. Would highly recommend and will be booking another visit soon.

Nepalese food cravings satisfied (mostly)! Needed a Nepalese fix and The 29029 delivered... almost! Got seated easily at 2pm, service was awesome, and the food was fresh and delicious. Loved their chaats and main courses, especially the [mention a specific dish]. Only complaint: momo options were limited to lamb mince with chutney. Food is always good here but the service on this night was not great, they seemed to be short staffed

Great food but service very slow. They claim they are 6 staff down due to opening another restaurant. However they are very fast to sell drinks, but food took over an hour and we had to go to the door to get the bill.

Lovely food but to wait 90 mins for a starter is very poor, especially after asking 4 waiters what was happening, extremely poor customer service, no apologies for the service (one waitress even smirked). Won’t we using them again sadly

What a lovely surprise to find a restaurant of this quality in Wareham! The chef used to work at the Taj and Oberoi hotels (both top end) in India. He is creative and doesn’t just offer the standard Indian fare(although they offer that even if it’s not on the menu). We started with lovely non greasy popadoms which included a terrific wild onion and strawberry infused chutney. There were also some exquisitely flavored dishes on the menu that included baked cottage cheese, with yoghurt, herbs and even (and unusually) strawberry flavors. We immediately made a second booking after eating here! They also serve Nepali/Tibetan food such as lamb momos but Nepali food can be a bit bland even with a good accompanying sauce, so we don’t recommend that. Service is very kindly. Decor is average with very small tables. Fortunately, they pace the food very well so that it all fits on your table. Prices very reasonable especially considering the quality.

Visited the buffet today and it was as always a great eating experience. The lamb vindaloo for me was the star today, melt in your mouth and the spices just right. The staff were super friendly and helpful, always with a smile on their face. All the food was piping hot and regularly checked or topped up. Will be back for more and would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Fabulous food. The menu is so varied something for everyone. The salmon tikka is exquisite will definitely be going back. Not cheap but worth every penny a very high quality Indian restaurant

Great food. The service was a bit lacking. We were forgotten about and people that arrived after us got served before us. We'll give it the benefit of the doubt and go again sometime.

Really 5* the food is good, service polite, great crockery and complete aire off style. However BIRTHDAY BLASTING OR EVEN PLAYING lowers the style, what a pity. May go again but will ask if any birthday before.

Loved the food not your traditional Indian. Just a shame only discovered restaurant on last day of holiday. But will definitely go back next year. Update went back this year and just as good in fact so good I may just make the 3 hour drive to take my husband for long weekend.

What a great restaurant! All the standard options but lots of dishes I have never seen before. All excellently cooked and presented. It felt high end, but the prices are very reasonable. They even have great deserts which is unusual for an Asia restaurant. Service was faultless. I am looking forward to going back soon!

It might not look like much from the outside but this a lovely place for a special dinner. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The menu includes Nepalese food which sets it apart from many Indian restaurants. The food is delicious and delicately spiced.

Although the main course took a while to arrive, the wait was justified: the food was remarkably fresh, beautifully presented, and tasted delightful. However, a point worth noting is the pricing. It felt somewhat steep considering what was offered. I'd recommend a visit to the restaurant, even if it's just to try it out and form your own opinion.
