That's Amore wine&kitchen in Sunderland

Worst meal we ve had for years. 3 starters were ok, but all deep fried so hard to get wrong! The surf and turf steak was tough and the prawns over cooked. My friend had what should have been the creamy version of rigatoni carbonara but this had no cream and was very oily. My other friend had chicken with pancetta and this was swimming in oil! Needless to say we ate very little so were hungry and thought a desert would be a safe bet. It wasn’t! The mango cheesecake was in a large dish. The mango coulis was thick and hard and underneath this was cheese with a very hard biscuit base. Didn’t taste anything like a cheesecake I ve ever had before. The tiramisu was swimming in liquid (and this wasn’t alcohol). Inedible. When presented with the bill we asked for a discount but the waitress said she had already asked the boss and he had refused!

Excellent food . Lovely staff and well worth the drive from South Shields . Fast becoming my favourite place to eat. I have eaten here through the day as well as the evening and the lovely all day breakfast menu is lovely too !

Fantastic food and wine. Lovely staff who were great with our 4 year old. Such good value for money. Would highly recommend.

Friendly greeting as we had reserved a table for four and we were shown to the table upstairs ... drink order was taken straight away but took a while to arrive however we did order two cocktails. House beer was nice but lacked a decent head on the pint .... we ordered 4 starters, pate .... this was about as far removed from pate as you could get the pate was grainy, split, lacked strength in flavour and was disappointing, bruschetta, again what we got wasn't bruschetta, what arrived was bread rocket and a small bowl of tomatoes, this is not bruschetta it was missing key ingredients such as red onion and garlic with herbs and no seasoning ... portion sizes was also an issue considering 4 tapas cost 20 pounds, the mains we got were nice but again portion sizes were lacking and the roast potatoes I had lacked any seasoning and were just plain bland roast potatoes, the service although pleasant was slow and we had to wait a while once our cheque had been issued to pay, it's a lovely little set up and there has been a good dining place in this location in different forms for a long time but we won't return

fabulous food from the new Spring menu, 3 tapas (calamari, prawns and pate), pasta with prawns, 2 wines, 2 panne cotta, 2 coffees,, excellent, great service by two nice young ladies who looked after us, highly recommended, get on down to That's Amore in Washington Village, give it a try

Lovely friendly little restaurant a nice change for us for coffee and cake in this beautiful baby friendly no steps so easy access definitely will call again

Little gem in Washington Village - we are so lucky to have this place at the end of the road! We’ve been a couple of times and the food and service has always been excellent. Most recently, we went for breakfast and it was a real treat, perfectly cooked and the family who own it are so lovely and really look after you. Looking forward to our next visit to finally try the regular menu!

Went to Thats Amore for our 36 Year Wedding Anniversary on the 20th February and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our food. Keep up the great work.

Absolutely amazing customer service! Lovely works who go above and beyond, manager went out of her way to ask the chefs if they could make tomato soup even when it wasn’t on the menu, was so grateful for that!! 100% recommend

This is a lovely refresh to our village, an authentic Italian restaurant with great wine choices and a menu that should cater for most people. The vegan choices are much appreciated and very good. The vegan ‘meat’ balls and sauce are delicious. Good quality food at a fair price. I hope it does well here.

First visit and definitely won't be the last. Breakfast was gorgeous, so tasty. The service was first class and very friendly. They have used the space available so well. The decor and atmosphere are lovely. Can't fault it 😊

Our first visit was a delight! The staff were attentive and friendly, the food was incredible and the prices were very reasonable. Really enjoyed the authentic Italian food, that is a change from the pizza/pasta offering at other Italians in the area.

Great food lovely service had a great lunch . Prawn starter was amazing and steak mains was delicious loverly sauce and perfect steak

Took my elderly mother for her lunch. She has reduced mobility, but the lovely lady helped her into the restaurant. We both had seafood tortellini which was really tasty, with homemade Tiramasu to follow, which was delicious. The owner was so friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back.
