Thann Thai in Runnymede

We (four of us) had a delicious selection of food at Thann Thai last week. And our server, Nui, was excellent, along with another lady . Both were friendly and explained the dishes to us when we asked questions. Perfect evening !! I must say that I would give this restaurant FIVE stars, but the tables are very close together.

Highly recommend. We visited to eat in after having a takeaway recently as it was so good. The shared starter platter was delicious and we all really enjoyed our main courses. All arrived really promptly and the staff were attentive, cleared plates and took additional drink orders. It's better than it used to be when it was called a previous name, so I presume that it's now under new ownership.

Food was really good, impressed with the mixed stater, both curries were excellent, if anything service was probably a little to quick.

We were recommended to this restaurant & I was abit disappointed as didn’t live upto my expectations. The staff were quite friendly & we were seated quickly the starters arrived really quickly & were Luke warm so we’re clearly pre made & warmed up in the microwave they should have been hotter as were Borderline cold our mains also arrived quickly & again not very hot the pad Thai was the worst I’ve tried the red curry was nice & coconut rice was quite bland would not rush back fairly mediocre

The food was pretty good and the service very good. My only complaint was the lack of spice in everything. Thai food should be mostly very spicy and all the dishes were missing most of the chilli needed. I guess it’s the anglicising of the food to suit most people but a great pity really.

I booked this resturant for mine and ny husbands 1st anniversary weekend away. Resturant atmosphere was lovely and welcoming. Food was amazing and reasonably priced to.

Saw the trip advisor reports on Thann Thai and so pleased we chose the good reviews. Staying nearby and looking for “best” Asian food in the area. Really lovely meal hadn’t booked but welcomed in. Service was very attentive. Food was delicious. Price was good value. Totally recommended

This is on the site of what was our favourite restaurant in weybridge - The greedy Elephant - and we promised ourselves to try this new Thai restaurant. We were very happy! It was busy presumably because it was Valentines night. However food and service was very well paced. The food was excellent and very pretty. Thai Thanni is now our new favourite.

Re previous review our plates were hot when brought out but lukewarm as was the food when it arrived. Small portions egg fried rice (a joke ) in a cup size bowl £4.95. Small portions with pre cooked chicken and lukewarm tasteless prawns not impressed. Would not recommend!!! We left without paying as the evening was spoilt for us!!!

The food is fresh and tasty which can’t be said for most Thai restaurants in Surrey, but portions are very small. On top of that, they charge a 10% surcharge which made our already expensive meal even more so. The service was fine but the food come out a bit too quickly. The ambiance is fairly average - due to the small space it can get loud when it’s busy. Overall the food is nice, but expect to be hungry or poor when you leave.

Our friends took us there as they have been many times. We were immediately greeted by a lovely waitress who was most attentive through the meal, topping up water glasses regularly and checking on us. She helped with the extensive menu and our choices were delicious, ranging from chicken to duck to beef, all the curries, vegetables and rice were superb.

Literally some of the tastiest Thai food I’ve had locally in a very long time. We’re fairly new to the area but since discovering Thann Thai, we try to make it a point to visit at least every few weeks. The food is always fresh and always good, we’ve tried nearly everything on the menu at least once and nothing has disappointed. The star dishes (our favourites) are the homemade fish cakes, prawn rice rolls, Tom yum soup, green papaya salad, Thai green curry, crying sizzling beef, deep fried seabass with homemade chilli sauce. Their pad Thai and pad kee mao are also delicious. And no meal is complete without their fresh lemongrass tea and kati sod sundae. All the staff are friendly, the ambience is great, and we’re really glad to have stumbled across this absolute gem.
