The four of us had dinner in the restaurant. Unfortunately, it took a long time for our order to be taken. But it then took much longer (about an hour or more) until we received our food. All the other people in the restaurant were served faster and had their food before we received it. Even people who came after us had their food before us. The food was very good. But for a restaurant that prides itself on being the best restaurant in London, the service needs to be better and faster.

Overrated. Greets you with large posters of a raving Conde Nast review - then you get a rather rude Indian service experience (instead of answering my questions she curtly told me the answers are in the back of the menu). Then the end result was dry chicken, good sauces, naans and rice. Mediocre food at best for slightly elevated prices for London. Very small portions. Just overrated. Not bad but not great - just ok. The service then doesn't even let you try to lift it up.

It is one of the best for value, comforting service, and excellent food. Especially the Hyderabadi Biryani which you hardly find in London let alone in India. It was a very splendid surprise. Have known this family run business flourish for many years. Excellence in food has never changed. Would recommend this spot as one of the best real Indian restaurants in London as a food / restaurant reporter. Congratulations

Indian chefs excel when they know how to combine layers of flavours and to vary them between dishes so dishes complement each other. Thali's chef exceeds at this. We had lamb with pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, cumin flavours; fish curry with delicate, flaked fish and tumeric and garlic flavours, and alo gobi with fresh tomatoes, coriander, and onions. A great treat. The lamb came sizzling on a cast iron platter. Great combination of varying flavours.

Nous avons mangé des Thali (nom du restaurant oblige), un végé et un viande, les deux étaient délicieux. Un pain naan pour deux était suffisant comme accompagnement. Service super sympathique.

staff was good food was average, I would not consider this as a thalias it just rice with 4 other items depending on what you choose veg or nonveg. A proper Indian thali is served with salad,pickle,papad, puri or roti, rice,dessert and other veg or non veg item. this was no where there and was disappointing.

Having been to Northern India on many occasions I felt the food was relatively bland.. it may be the chef felt Londons taste buds are different . Overall enjoyable night except the head of house was constantly shouting and berating the staff which made for an uncomfortable evening ..

Absolutely delicious fresh food, calm but happy vibe — we loved Thali. Made a reservation and went on a rainy Monday night and it was reasonably busy, so I imagine on weekends that a reservation would be a must. Would very highly recommend this restaurant.

The manager is the rudest person in the world. He was so rude and patronising that we didn’t even get to order the food and had to leave.

My visit to this restaurant left me feeling disgusted. The owner's behavior was shockingly rude and condescending. From the moment I stepped through the door, we were met with disdain and contempt. The owner's lack of hospitality and dismissive attitude made us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. It's truly disheartening to encounter such a lack of professionalism. I cannot recommend this place to anyone, as our visit didn't even progress to the point of ordering food.

The food at Thali was mostly very good - potato chaat was delicious in particular. The service was very slow - we arrived just after opening for dinner and were there for two hours.

Truly superb food. On the menu were several new dishes, we tried 2 of them which were excellent. There were 4 of us each with different tastes and we all had a wonderful restaurant experience. We can’t rate our time there any higher it was excellent. Please go, you are in for a great meal.

We had a most delicious dinner this weekend at Thali. We were a group of 7 friends that hadn't seen each other in a long time, so we were looking for a lovely place to eat....and we found it. The food was DELICIOUS, the service was perfectly paced for the long meal we wanted to enjoy. Everything is obviously cooked fresh as each dish was so specifically flavoured.....and then the bill was completely reasonable. High recommend. We will return!

Food is fantastic, but service is appalling. We’ve been going here as our favourite Indian spot since 2016. Sadly we won’t be coming back anymore. We waited at least 45min for our food, whilst a steady stream of takeaway orders were being fulfilled in front of us. The table beside us, whose patrons sat down after us, got their food before us. When I raised this with the manager, he was patronising with me, as if he was doing me a favour. We will not be returning anymore.

The food is great! And after not feeling so well they were kind to assist me and gave me my main course as take away. Would definately go back and enjoy a proper evening.

Great food and great service! Family run business that offers a personal service. We had the lamb and prawn starters which were beautifully cooked. Chicken curry was excellent as well. We’ll be back!

All food was way too sweet, as if the chef had spilled a whole pack of sugar in every dish. Maybe that's how the British public like their Chicken Tikka Masala, but it's not authentic Indian food at all.

As an Indian, I don't think I will go back again. The food was not tasty. However, it may be something that perhaps non Indians or Europeans may like. We paid 100 £ for two without drinks. It is for the rich people in the area. If you want tasty Indian food, please go elsewhere.

Well, it was just lovely. Sparkly red napkin rings, friendly service - and prompt, but then, they were practically empty when I arrived! I had free poppadoms to start, with a mango dip - then for my official starter, samosas, as usual: chicken, not as usual! Never before seen chicken samosas. They were served with a sauce that, she warned me, was mango and chili - emphasising the chili! And for main - since they didn't have butter chicken - I was intrigued by the "turkey tikka" monthly special, and asked for that. She checked I didn't want it as a starter, and warned that it came without sauce - never mind, I said, I'd have it anyway. And it was delicious! Not an awful lot of it, but I'd also asked for pulao rice and peshawari naan.. all lovely, and accompanied by a nice sauvignon blanc. Ah yes, this was a lovely, relaxed meal - just what I needed.

Outstanding authentic Indian cuisine of a very high standard. Very fresh ingredients, excellent presentation & delicious. The service is 5*. Lovely decor & generally a fantastic restaurant with a very good wine list to boot. A foodies paradise & a culinary delight.

Waited a long time for our food and it wasn't full. They did apologise for the wait but we had drank all the water and most of our wine by the time food came. Chicken tikka masala was very tasty but my paswari nann was awful, no coconut taste at all so I left that. Overall I would say its just OK. Staff were friendly but I wouldn't go back

Make sure you have budgeted enough time because if the joint is jammed you are going to be waiting awhile! The food was dynamite! Chaat, bhindi, rogan josh, dahl, tandoori, you cannot choose poorly. The servers are delightful but if you get there late you might miss out (no lamb chops and no aubergine but the time we were served at 9pm). One of the best Indian restaurants in London! Book ahead or you might be turned away!

Great ambience and decor. The food was excellent I got the veg thali dish! The only thing I would say is the portion size is quite small when compared to your average Indian restaurant. My family members had to order extra curries as these weren’t enough.

Delightful flavours the perfect curry restaurant. Friendly service ideal dish sizes that allows guests to indulge but not over indulge. We will return for sure!

Everyone has a favourite Indian restaurant that they get their takeaway from maybe once a week, and i don't know about you but that usually means that when I go out to a restaurant it's to eat something different, but I make an exception for Thali. The food here is so tasty; this time we ate the lamb and beetroot which is something I've never tried before let alone seen before in Asian cuisine, and it was so soft and flavoursome it's been added to my list of favourite dishes. The innovative menu distinguishes the restaurant and sets it apart from the usual, standard eateries that serve 'classic' Asian dishes like Korma and Tikka Massala, and that's smart of them because now they've introduced me to lamb and beetroot I'm going to have to visit them exclusively. The rice was fluffy, no stodge, the kebab and pakora starters well proportioned, and the staff ensured my glass was never empty or my table became cluttered with plates. Overall an excellent meal and a decent black coffee at the end which as a lover of coffee for me is the 'chef's kiss' to a good meal.

Best curry in London by far ! I come here all the time and it is my favourite restaurant to go to in West London. Definitely recommend. Staff are very friendly and very quick service. Love it.

Used to eat here when it first opened a few years back - at that time I gave it a 5 as it was several steps up from the normal curry house. Have been back in London for a couple of months and eaten here twice - service was good but food starting to slip into standard curry house offerings. Having said that we did enjoy their vegetarian dishes and when we go again will skip the average meat dishes and load up on veg dishes which are all 5's. Rice and breads were good

The starters were out of this world, we had samosas, prawns and scallops. the main courses weren't bad. I'd been told about the venison curry which seemed not to be on the menu, so was a bit gutted about that. Service very good.

The service got a bit slow once the place filled up. The level of noise was acceptable but not ideal. The restaurant is clean but there is not much ambience or space. I have not tried their very spicy curries for which they are famous. Their idea of mild is still quite spicy for European taste if you are not used to it. And they had no lassis to wash it down with claiming that they ran out although we came there at 7pm, quite early for dinner. But the raita, the lemon rice, the breads were excellent.
