Thainese in Waltham Forest

I ordered a pad Thai to collect, asked for not egg as I have an egg allergy and they gave me noodles with nothing else 🤦🏻‍♀️ Had to spend there another 15 minutes asking for peanuts, vegetables and the prawns I paid for.

The food was really bland and watery. Chicken was swimming in gease and noodles smelled and tasted wrong.

Portions are small prices are high. One small tip, either lower the price or increase the portion. This way you don’t have to sell old chicken or any other products.

Had a takeaway from Thainese earlier, great stuff. Not perfect, the satay is poor, about equivalent to what you'll get out of a box from Iceland, wouldn't recommend. The main dishes were all excellent though; flavourful, spicy without being overpowering, and not oversweetened (most Thai/Chinese places seem to dump half a bag of sugar in everything). Edit May 2022: So maybe the economy is hitting this place hard a year on, or maybe management is just out to cut costs. Had another takeaway today, any less chicken in those dishes and they would have passed for vegetarian. For the amount they charge compared to many other takeaways I expect better. Edit October 2024: I'd forgotten about this review, to my discredit. Suffice to say the quantity did return to what I expect to receive for my money. The quality remains top notch.

I found a piece of glass in my food so I don't think I will order again

Gutted as this was my go to place for mango sticky rice but just ordered on Uber eats and it had multiple pieces of GLASS in it, I crunched it and it cut my mouth!!

Usually very happy with Thainese but today there was basically half portions in containers unless someone ate some before packing it . Not impressed today

Honesty me and my family are quite critical of many restaurants but we can truly say we loved this place. It's a little off the beaten track location wise but the food was made fresh and with love. The menu was copious for choice and it truly delivered on it's theme of Thai and Chinese fusion. When the food came, none of us spoke to each other as we were too busy woofing it down. So fresh and flavorful. This is now on our list of regular places. Will definitely be returning. Can't wait.

Usually get the tom yum, some chow Meon and fried chicken with rice. Can honestly say best Thai locally, staff very friendly. you can always ask the kitchen if something is different. would recommend.

In all my 43 years of life this is the worst service I've had. Ordered via deliveroo and the portions were extremely small, half filled containers. What really took the piss were the £5 chips whihc barely consisted of one potato. Avoid if you're ordering online. All the food came to £50 amd were still hungry.

Tasty food, always been freshly cooked, no issues with food previously. Nice friendly staff, makes a good family friendly atmosphere, quick service. Malaysian tea nice with food. Chef accommodated my order, wanted one spicy dry dish more saucy to have with rice.

The worst Thai food I’ve ever had. The pad Thai was mushy and over spiced and the green curry tasted nothing like a Thai green curry. Very disappointed.

Staff very friendly and attentive. Atmosphere casual and good ol'' 80's tunes playing. Nice! Thai food generally is new to me so I was not sure what to choose but staff were able to make suggestions on what to choose such that would suit our taste. We loved what we chose. Tasty and quality.

went yesterday to break fast - lovely food came out really fast had dates and water for us and place to pray ❤️been there twice this month

terrible the chicken was nasty the black bean sauce was too salty and the nasi goreng rice was as hard as a coin not edible at all !! it was as if it was old food that we was given it didn’t taste fresh what so ever I don’t recommend ordering from here my chow me-in was also flavourless I had to add chilli oil and still then I couldn’t taste anything but the chilli oil ridiculous

Ordered for first time from this place tonight for 2 adults and a kid. Haven’t been this disappointed in a long time…and hungry. Crispy beef and Orange sesame chicken were served in half portion containers and these containers were filled to half. Orange sesame chicken is just sweet and sour chicken. Side of plain noodles were the smallest portion you can imagine, chicken satay skewers were burned. And the vermicelli fried noodles had no flavour and there were only 5 shreds of chicken which I had to dig looking for…but the size of that one was normal, if only it tasted of anything… Will never order again and will recommend everyone not to.

Food was great, however it was delivered 20mins outside the latest time suggested on the window delivery time.

Ladt at the till with a hijab needs manners, came to pick up a order and I said my order is right that there and she started an argument for no reason. I tried to be calm and reasonable with her but she was in a defensive argumanted mood. Please teach your colleagues some basic manners. Reply- regardless she will have to check my device after I pointed it's there and she could've asked nicely to say out the order number at least but no she went onto say drivers steal food etc isn't that assuming I'll steal it. Yes I reviewed from other account because I got thumps down for no reason but I'll take it out.

delivered earlier than it said which was great for us as we were hungry. the crispy duck was delicious! lots of sauce and cucumber came with the duck. the chicken chow mein noodles was delicious too. everything was hot and super delicious. cannot fault it. amazing. will order again soon

A gem of a place, great little restaurant in Walthamstow! Gorgeous decor, especially the toilets. Service with a smile, a good menu with many choices. Everything is Halal.

We ordered a takeaway from the menu. First time was great. This time was really bad. Crispy wontons: cold, chewy and not enough sauce. Prawn dish: unshelled prawns, cold. Sea bass : chewy, fish not fresh, cold. It was awful.

We ordered a meal in December. It was brilliant. This time, very, very disappointing. Crispy wontons: cold, chewy and very little sauce. Sea bass: cold and flavourless, and didn’t feel fresh. Prawn dish: they didn’t shell the prawns. I am afraid that we won’t order another batch again. Awful.

Always a good place to eat - food is honestly amazing, the prices are really good for both the portion size & the quality. But not only that, the service is always good & the people are really kind. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed so you can hear yourself and others speak without shouting. Overall amazing place

This restaurant is a hot and miss, and it’s better to eat in. The Thai fish cakes tasted ready made and a bit odd-don’t order them, the lamb chops were quite underdone. The pancakes with shredded chicken was okay but there wasn’t enough salad and overall for the price it was disappointing. Needs improvement

Delicious. Authentic Malaysian dishes and traditional Chinese. I’ve posted their most up to date menu to this review. The staff are friendly and services is quick. I would recommend the seating at the back of the restaurant. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken and prawn chow mien. 10/10. Very reasonably priced

I ordered a couple of soup takeaway with delivery. The entire contents arrived damaged and empty. When I rang the shop to highlight my dismay, the staff member refused to send out a reorder and refused a refund. They blamed the delivery driver etc. Appaling

I want to clarify this to you, first of all yes it's my fault for pointing the order is there but when she does bring the food I would've showed her the device before I left the building, also I didn't argue or even say anything to her maybe she had a bad day at work but she got angry for no reason and went on to say rider's steal for etc but how can you just assume I'm going to steal it...just for pointing the order? I didn't even want to to argue with her or even said anything wrong for her to get angry. Anyways sorry for reviewing bombing my pettiness got me after seeing thumps down.

I always get the Thai curry and it never disappoints. Also enjoyed the duck pancakes though the duck was a little dry.

This place has great authentic flavours, most recommended to try the Chicken Manchurian and the TomYum prawn soup

The main I ordered was overly spicy so not as enjoyable. Everything else was fine

The food is decent but quality not consistent. Been here on several occasions and sometimes the food either lacks in flavour or is overcooked while other times is very good. The portions on takeaway could also be a bit bigger. I had the beef in pepper sauce and it overall there were a few vegetable slices and 5-6 thin small beef slices. Is not too expensive but quite small. Or at least have a larger portion option. The service was always good.

Portions are about half the size since I’ve last eaten here 2 months ago. They’re too small for how much you’re paying. Every food item now tastes like itself instead of having a significant taste. Was very impressed the first few times eating here but now disappointed. This is my last time ordering.

Called them before placing the order and asked them if papaya salad could be made without chilli. The lady on the phone asked the kitchen and said yes. I placed the order and I asked in capital letters PAPAYA SALAD WITHOUT CHILLI but I received it with so much chilli that was not edible also because I cannot eat it due to health conditions. As I see other reviews, they seems to not care about customers health concerns and they have an attitude in every reply to these reviews, as if it’s never their fault. How unprofessional. The rest of the food was good but I will not order again just because they tried to make me ill ignoring my request.

Seriously good restaurant. Very good authentic taste. Manager is too good. We went on Friday night with family and he even served us cracker. I loved the taste. Highly recommended.

Very helpful staff, good price. Food is good. Would recommend the coconut rice with green curry. Starters were average. Drinks are priced well. Chow mein could do with a little more flavour but was tasty still. We asked for extra spring onions and they bought us a whole small bowl of chopped spring onions which was very accommodating. Edit: Visited again today and was a different experience from my previous 5* experience. Starters were over fried, especially the won ton. When I enquired about it, I was told that it's supposed to be like that. Duck was very dry. Noodles was very dry. Coconut still great. Green curry was a disappointment, the colour looked very artificial and the sauce was jelly like, as if corn starch was added to thicken the sauce. The beef rangdang looked amazing and flavourful but it was tough dry meat. I don't know what has happened. They used to be so good. It's a shame.

The food was excellent but the portion sizes are small considering how much it costs! The prawn filled spring rolls should be called spring roll bites!!!!

i felt sick and i ordered the chicken n sweet corn soup & the tom yum kung prawn soup and they really made me feel better ❤️‍🩹 both soups were so flavored and tasty also i tried the sesame prawn toast and they were nothing special i really recommend you find a better way to pack your food because my order came totally broken and i lost half of my delicious soup :(( 🥣

Food is very delicious, you can tell it is freshly made. Second time ordering so far. Only thing is that we had to heat up the food as it was warm. But we would definitely order from Thainese again. 😊

1. Customer Service- Amazing, very Friendly. 2. Foods - very good tase and aromatic and good size 3. Price - fair and less than reasonable price. 4. Cleanliness- Shop is really cleaned and hygienic environment. Pad Thai is one of the best taste and savoury , size is more than enough for one person. Chicken KumPao, Tomyam soup are also good. Singapore style fried rice is also very nice. If you are an Asian food lover or if you want to try some Asian food, I recommend to try this Thinese Restaurant. After all, don’t forget to try a cup of tea called Teh Tarek. Amazing taste, aromatic tea.

Paid with cash and the delivery driver didn’t have any change on him. A slightly sneaky way of getting a few extra pounds. If customers need to pay with exact money, this should clearly be stated on the Just Eat page.

5 stars for the food but can improve the ambiance. It’s fully halal. We ordered chicken corn soup, hot and sour soup, crispy prawns, Szechuan beef, sweet and sour chicken, chicken chowmein and egg fried noodles. We loved everything!! My favorite were crispy prawns 🍤 Will definitely recommend this place for food!
