PAYA in Waltham Forest

All of the food that arrived was disgusting, salty and lacked any other flavour. The shredded chicken was undercooked and still white due to the flour batter. The noodles were disgusting and cold and the bbq sauce simply tasted of oil and salt. When we contacted the restaurant to complain he simply said it was our tastebuds that were wrong and not the food and started they have never received a complaint before, one look at their reviews on google and it was clear this was a lie. He also said that it was not “our right” to post a review detailing our experience. Overall, extremely low quality food with no taste and under cooked and very rude staff. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE

We ordered our takeaway meal at 6.15pm but it never arrived. We tried repeatedly to contact them but their phone service was automatically forwarded to voicemail . In the end, at 9.30pm. we gave up and cooked ourselves a meal at home. I wish I had read the reviews before we ordered! I advise anyone thinking of ordering from Paya not to do so. I’ve given one star as it’s not possible to give zero! Looking at all these appalling reviews, why is there no response from their management?

Ordered delivery via Just Eat on Sunday Eve and was 25 min late. I should have trusted the reviews and not tried them! Food was cold, spring rolls cold and soggy! Chicken balls not great and I had to microwave the sweet and sour sauce as all 3 were still jelly!!!! NEVER EAT FROM HERE!

Luego pedimos cancelar y dijo que estaba bien, así que pedimos en otro lugar; luego nos acusó y envió la comida de todos modos, a pesar de decir que fue cancelada. Cuando finalmente llegó la comida, era el chino más insípido que he comido y toda la carne tenía el mismo aspecto (a pesar de haber pedido 3 platos de carne diferentes), no hace falta decir que se fue a la basura. NO compre en este establecimiento vergonzoso.

Last Friday evening I made an online order with Paya. Their website said the store was OPEN. A few minutes later I received an email saying that my order had been rejected because the store was CLOSED. Not only that, but the thieves have still TAKEN MY MONEY...! They will not apologise and are making me fight tooth and nail to get my money back, which I still haven’t received. BEWARE OF ORDERING WITH PAYA THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY.

Tener ordenados de Paya en el pasado y recibido realmente el servicio y la comida, me llamó un pedido en la entrega. La primera decepción fue no poder pagar con tarjeta (2017! ). En segundo lugar, pagué 30 libras por una comida para dos personas, lo que parece excesivo. En tercer lugar, mi comida llevó 70 minutos llegar y cuando llamé al restaurante después de 45 minutos para preguntar, me dijeron simplemente que el conductor entrega sería pronto. Cuando la comida no llega en el mejor fue tibia. Y finalmente, la calidad de la comida era muy decepcionante. No comimos más de la mitad de la comida que había pedido, y finalmente, arrojando el resto. Me entristece decir que este restaurante ya no tiene el excelente servicio y la comida que solía tener.

No pida de thisshop. Me llamó una orden a su línea de teléfono gratuito de la orden y les dijo que necesitaba para pagar con tarjeta. Me dijeron que el conductor entrega a traer una máquina de tarjeta. Cuando llegó él no tenía máquina de tarjeta. Yo no tenía dinero en efectivo. Me hizo por teléfono y empezaron a gritar en ellos en mi teléfono como me paraba en la puerta. Eventualmente tuve que tomar mi teléfono atrás y dígale que ir lejos. Él permaneció en pie fuera de mi casa y golpeando la puerta. Llamé a la tienda para hacer un pago por la comida por teléfono y tenían una enorme en mí ir y dijo que, si quería pagar con tarjeta me debería haber pedido en línea. Forma de tratar a los clientes de vergüenza.

Wish I had read other reviews before ordering food from here. Service, food and timings were utterly appalling. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

Utilizamos Paya Chingford en un par de ocasiones siempre me alegraba con la comida hasta hace poco.

A 45 - 60 minutos de espera y acabé cogiendo comida 1 hora y 52 minutos más tarde. Frío y no comestible. Segunda vez me han puesto un pedido con esta compañía y exactamente el mismo servicio - conductor dado completan la dirección equivocada en ambas ocasiones y intentado poner culpa a mí. No hay reembolso ofrecidos, descuento para la próxima orden - no se realice otra orden! pérdida de £21 -

Poor tasting like warm offering. The curry was watery and tasteless, the fried rice bland. Prawn crackers were ok as were the sweet and sour chicken balls. Wouldn't buy from them again.

Took a while to come, but was very tasty and reasonably good value for money! Some really nice choices on the menu! Would take out from here again!

I'm yet to find a Chinese takeaway whose food tastes of restaurant quality. Paya is one of the better ones though.

I have been searching for a decent chinese / thai takeaway in Walthamstow for years. It seems my search continues. I deliberately ordered very simple dishes that shouldn't be difficult to prepare - braised tofu with vegetables; pad thai with prawns; and some simple starters (prawn wonton; stay chicken). Everything was dreadful - soggy pastry on the wonton, satay chicken seemingly without the satay (a tiny pot of peanut butter was provided); pad-thai a lump of overcooked un-seasoned noodles with one prawn and nothing else apart from a sprinkle of ground nuts; and tofu with vegetables in a glutinous and tasteless sauce - seriously. No taste. At all. Advise not bothering.

The Crab was off..the chow main was burnt, pork balls were just hard... this was not cheap.. and I only bought it because it was more expensive than the ret, so thought it should be good... save your self the money are order else where.

Not great at all. Felt like it was just reheated food. Fish cakes were soggy, yet like rubber. Pad Thai was stodgy and clumped together and chicken in the green curry was cut into oversized chunks making it quite off putting.

Excellent food, nicely presented. We had a friend baby sit for us and not knowing the area asked if we had a Thai take away service nearby. We're not spoilt for choice when it comes to Thai cuisine around here so without knowing we suggested paya. It's been a couple months until I got to try it myself and have to say felt extremely relieved as it was simply delicious! Will def be recommending some more

Was a favourite now just gone downhill. mains are poor now but a starter based dinner is fine...except ribs they've gone downhill to. they usually forget drinks.

A very delicious meal. The curry was fabulous, flavourful and plenty of tofu. The spring rolls were a little disappointing: soggy, not much filling and oily.

Delivery was on time but food quality was terrible. Noodles were greasy, chicken in black bean sauce was bland and gloopy textured. Will not be ordering from here again.

Awful. Very overpriced £45 for two people ! Took about an hour and a half to get to me- I had to go out and find the driver. Cold food and they forgot our drinks and Ice cream. What should have been a Saturday treat really wasn't.

What a shame the reviewers all seem to have had to chase and wait for food. Take note paya! We had to chase and wondered how the food could be fresh with the delay. However the food was very good, amount of king prawns more generous than average, and temperature was acceptable. If the delivery side could be sorted out would def order and recommend.

After waiting nearly 2 hours for our delivery today. I orders half a duck with pancakes, salad and the sauce, chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce, egg fried rice and plain noodles. This all came to 30 pound. When dishing up the food for my family I was shocked by how small each part was and the duck wasn't even half it was 1/3 maybe less. The food was very dry.I WON'T! be using this service again.

I was told my order would take an hour and it actually took nearly 2 hours to arrive, when I rang up to find out where it was they apologised but just said they were busy as it was a weekend. I really felt after waiting this long I should've been given some kind of compensation, but nothing was offered. When the food did eventually arrive it was pretty average, so definitely not worth the wait! I wont be ordering from here again.

When it did finally arrive it was cold (no surprise) and the soggy chicken dish looked as if it had been sat out for an hour or so. Bidding took a ridiculously long time, even with leeway given for New Year's Day busy-ness. The staff I spoke to were unhelpful and the driver didn't apologise for the amount of time it took.

Was the good edible? Yes. That's as far as this review can go. Bland is the only word I can use politely to review the quality and taste of the food. This is clearly an establishment where the chef has lost all passion for food, his cuisine and ultimately his job. I managed to fill myself up on the free prawn crackers that were kindly given after spending what I now consider a fortune for what I received (mainly because I could have found the same meal left over in the rubbish from the takeaway shop down the road. The noodles were dry, the beef was dry and chewy. The won ton noodle soup tasted like tap water with vegetables in it. I am just so disappointed. I rarely leave reviews but I had to warn you against ordering from here. Nothing makes me sadder than bad food... It's emotional. You ruined my midweek treat!

We ordered a delivery last Thursday and despite being the correct address on the email confirmation they managed to send to the wrong address! We paid by card and our still fighting for a refund. Staff have been rude and unhelpful, would never in a month of Sunday's use again.

There just so many things that went south with this order. -The food was plain and boring, plus they have not told me the food was spicy even after request. -On a forty quid order they charged me for delivery and an other extra fee to accept a card payment. -This is the first time I'm going to complain for a delivery coming too early, one hour early! We had to reheat everything. -The only positive was the delivery boy who was very nice and helpful. -This takeaway just got itself a place in my never-again list.

We have been having takeaways from Paya Ruislip for a few yearsandt the food had always been excellent (catering for vegetarian as well). Recenly it has been very inconsistent but last week was the most disgusting experience. Of the 5 dishes ordered, not one was edible. Tofu was dry and chewy (probably cooked and recooked several times). All dishes were lacking seasoning except for soya sauce. Only vegetables were not fresh and hardly any variety, cheap choices. Wverything was greasy and smelt off. I would say they have lost their way completely. We ended up throwing away the lot. Advice, go elsewhere.

Have tried out a few Chinese takeaways and this is by far the best.We use the Paya (Chingford branch) at least once a week, as the food is very very good. Pricing is extremely compatible and the staff are always courteous and attentive.Excellent freshly prepared Chinese and Thai fodder. Gets very busy at weekends, always a good sign. Absolutely recommended.

Fabulous Chinese food, we will eat again! Great duck, not greasy at all, chicken satay the same, great sweet and sour, felt like health food!!!
