We had a lovely meal, very tasty,lots of it and presentation was spot on. We had 3 courses I would recommend the mixed starter b amazing. Main course we had different dishes and was served hot and lots of it. Service was great too. Thank you we will be back again.

Worse thai food I have ever eaten. Mussaman curry watery and totally lacked any flavour. Panang curry ok..but again very weak and not like Thai food. Prawn starters were good but had a purchased from Iceland feel to quality. Worst of all was an elderly Thai waitress who kept getting everything wrong. Small bottle of beer instead of pint. Red wine instead of prosecco. Wrong dishes of food brought out to many tables! She caused chaos. I would not recommend at all. Food very very disappointing.

Disappointing ! Walked in at 5.30 and the restaurant was empty, asked for a table for 4 was asked if we’d reserved a table which we hadn’t , the young girl serving showed us to a dark dingy table and when we said it was too dark could we sit elsewhere we were told no they were fully booked and this was the only table. We said no thankyou and promptly left and ironically had a lovely meal elsewhere. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t get that far but people forget how important a warm welcome and good service is sadly. Wouldn’t return on that basis

We went for dinner - the restaurant was fairly quiet because of a football match, but takeaway going great guns and we soon saw why. We had a starter selection, all of which were great, followed by a spicy thai lamb dish and stir fried tofu with cashew and pineapple. All beautifully cooked and flavoured, and charming service. Highly recommended.

We have recently moved to the area and this was our first visit to Thailand Tom. When we arrived on a Wednesday night the restaurant was empty ( 1745 hours) and we had the choice of where to sit. By the time we left 2 hours later the place was busy. Now, the food - WOW - superb. We had the mixed starter which was beautifully presented and delicious . It consisted of spring rolls, samosas, tempura vegetable, mushroom toasts, and corn fritters. All of it superb. Our mains of Pad Thai, Green Curry and rice was equally as tasty and plentiful. The staff were friendly and efficient. We thought the price was very reasonable for the quality of the food we had. Our first visit and we are sure that this will become a regular place to visit. They do great lunch time deals too. Thank you Thailand Tom - excellent.

We have been going here for several years and the food has always been good. Service is never the best but the food has always made up for it. However this time was not the case. The waiters who clearly didn’t have any interest in customers and clearly wanted to be somewhere else to be honest we did too as spoilt our evening. They didn’t have a clue what the food was they were serving and just stared at it blankly one was even chewing gum. We had to constantly ask for things they were an embarrassment to the restaurant. We won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Four of us went to Thailand Tom on Saturday 9 th March. The restaurant was almost full and buzzing. We ordered two mixed starters which were beautifully presented,hot and tasted fantastic. As a main course we had Pad Thai, a prawn sweet n sour dish, honeyed duck, a lovely pork dish and rice. We did order dessert which was banana fritters with ice cream and a honey drizzle, tge covering on tha banana has coconut flakes in which was very subtle and very nice. I have to say it was soo good. Service was very good and the lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We will be returning soon.

Was a great experience when me and my friends entered the place there was warming atmosphere and the food was magnificent. Came within 15 minutes. We was constantly checked on by the staff which was very delighting.

Honestly INSANE food! All four of us agreed it was the best food we’ve had in Hythe in the 30 years we’ve lived here. Wish we visited sooner. It tasted better than it does in Thailand and staff were lovely too! Super fresh and delicious food, would highly recommend.

I had lunch here with friends today. The restaurant is clean, well laid out, and with comfortable chairs. It was warm inside and inviting. The food was beautiful, and was all freshly cooked. The service was impeccable and the waitress attentive and helpful with our order. It is also very reasonably priced. We will definitely visit again soon.

I love this place. I have been coming here for quite some years now and it’s always been the same lovely welcoming staff. The food is amazing and quite often they can make things to your liking. Just ask. Occasionally they may get things wrong. However, this is a delightful little place. Please try, I highly recommend it. Personally, I like the table or tables by the window. I have introduced friends and work colleagues to this restaurant over the years, and I always keep coming back and introducing new people. For me, Thailand Tom’s hold a special place in my heart, as I have a lot of memories here. I can’t find any in this area that can compare. For a small local business, they survived the pandemic and they even done the eat out to help out scheme. I can recommend it enough, please go to this little business and support local small business businesses. I’m loving the new website. :-) Paul xXx

Small portions of tasteless food. 4 prawns in a pad thai was stingy. Really bland food. Definitely wouldn't go back. Poor value for money and absolutely dreadful music (Lionel Richie).....

Thailand Tom has been on my list of restaurants to try and didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and very authentic. They made us a Som Tam salad as we mentioned we had Chiang Mai even though it wasn’t on the menu. Very friendly staff. Everything we had was excellent and very reasonable priced. Lovely restaurant decor as well. Highly recommended

We visited on a Saturday night as an adult family. The ambience was lovely, seating was fancy with comfortable leather chairs. The food was delicious and felt just like the food I had eaten in Thailand. The beef massaman curry was my favourite and the house Merlot was a hit. Very good value for money. We came away with our belly’s full having really enjoyed our experience.

Enjoyed the food, but didn't like the atmosphere/dining experience. Not sure if I would return, I preferred the Thai restaurant in folkestone.

We have found another little gold nugget to visit, the food was great, service great and staff attentive but not all over us. They said sorry for the slow service that night but it was just how we like it..not rushed just chilled. Well done to you and your young team. See you soon I hope.

Went as a family of five for authentic Thai food, but was bitterly disappointed with the food presented to us. Having travelled Thailand previously, we were excited at the prospects but were left saddened. We had a selection of six dishes and non were pleasant or flavoursome. We did comment when paying the bill and received no apology or explanation.

I ordered a fish dish which was lovely except the fish was still raw in the middle. When I complained to the waitress she just said, "Oh was it?" My husband asked for his dish to be "Thai hot" if possible when he gave his order in but it was extremely mild when served. The same waitress just brought some chilly flakes for him to sprinkle on . We won't be going back.

Excellent Thai resteraunt, Friday night fully booked and not surprising. Definately worth to trip down to Hythe everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and the service was great.....will be returning very soon.... Great little find...

We regularly eat at this restaurant, mainly with our 3 and 14 month old in tow. We can not fault the food, always hot and fresh and amazingly tasty. The lunchtime menu is amazing value. My husband and I are always amazed that the restaurant isn't more packed when the food is so so good. I was in Thailand for many months and this is amazing authentic Thai food that can not be faulted. The owners are lovely too and can not do enough for you.

The restaurant was quiet on a Saturday lunchtime but the 2 course meal that we had was delicious. We ordered from the lunch menu which offers a selection of starters and mains and is very good value. The tempura prawns and vegetables were both fresh and crispy, each with a dipping sauce. The green chicken curry and other chicken main were fragrant and spicy. This is the first time we've visited in a long time but we'll definitely be back.

My husband booked for my birthday on Saturday 10th September because I love Thai food, first the starter platter was not fresh but all pre frozen like something out of Iceland. We sucked this up and hoped our main courses would be better. I order Thai green curry and jasmine rice, this was completely bland and inedible my husband's beef was all grisle and fat and again completely inedible. When we complained we said we would pay for starters and drinks which we consumed but not the mains. My birthday dinner was ruined. We were then quizzed by the waiter exactly what was wrong with our mains which we explained agained. Then to top it off they refused to remove my husband's main and my rice from the bill. At this point I was in tears so my husband paid and we left. This restaurant should not be allowed to advertise themselves as an authentic Thai restaurant as you would be better off grabbing an Iceland buffet followed by a microwave curry. Avoid like the plague this place is completely horrendous in every way possible.

Went with 5 friends on a Saturday night. 2 of the party were vegan and we saw they catered for vegans by a poster in the window. There was however no vegan dishes highlighted on the menu, when we asked what was vegan the waitress said they do not mark them and we need to ask for what we wanted. But strange, but ordered and confirmed the dishes were vegan, and ordered the rest as normal. Starters were ok. Main courses were poor, no real spice definitely not work the prices charged. Service was poor, orders got wrong and food coming up in an odd order and delayed.

The best and the best value restaurant to have a lunch in, in Hythe. We have been several times now. The lunchtime menu is £7.99 for a main and £9.99 for a main and starter. The food is great and as it is freshy prepared...

The decor of the restaurant is lovely, there are various cuckoo clocks which make animal sounds. The staff are very kind and welcoming. There are nice vegetarian options and the food was delicious and tasted very fresh. I definitely recommend for a date night!

Thailand Tom is such an amazing restaurant, it was my first time going there and the staff were so welcoming and nice and even let us connect our music to the speakers! The cocktails were incredible, would definitely recommend those and the outdoor seating was gorgeous, it really felt like we were on holiday.

We came here on the 2nd evening after restaurants were allowed to open outdoor seating areas.They have really gone out of their way to make things as comfortable as possible for everyone.The garden is beautiful with trees and flowers, some romantic fairy lights, and atmospheric music. Perfect for a post-lockdown date.And on top of all of this, the food is incredible and the service was superb. Even if it was 5°c outside

We love eating here! We’ve been going to Thailand Tom’s for years & have such a special time every time we go. The food is delicious, the staff are so friendly and through the lockdown they’ve been excellent. Just delightful overall, would definitely recommend.

We saw on Facebook that they were doing a takeaway/collection service over the weekend and decided to revisit after a few years' away. We weren't disappointed. The quality, as well as the quantity of the food matched their previous high standard. I had an old favourite, Tom's Caramel Pork, while my wife went for Homok Pla, both with coconut rice. Both dishes were delicious and we will be back soon.

My boyfriend and I went in for dinner during the week, it was such a good find! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was incredible, the staff were so friendly and they were truly passionate about the food that they were serving! If you're in doubt as to what to get don't hesitate to ask the staff as they are more than happy to recommend several amazing dishes! You will not be disappointed by Thailand Tom and we will definitely be going back!

This is the second time we have eaten in this restaurant whilst visiting the area. The first time was an evening meal and this time was for lunch - we had planned to go for an Indian meal but none of the restaurants were open. A delicious local find. A very authentic Thai hosted by very talented and experienced staff. The quality of food exceeded that of central London where I had eaten most of my Thai food previously. If you want the special Thai dishes, just ask the staff for recommendations.

We used to love eating here , the food Is usually fabulous . Extremely noisy customers at another table totally spoilt our meal , despite Tables more spread out due to Pandemic . This is the second time that this has happened in this restaurant on a weekend . Our food order took absolutely ages & They ran out of lemonade ??? & they took quite a while to ask for our drinks order . I ordered Duck which was v rubbery . We took it home & gave it to the dog . I will sadly NOT be returning to this restaurant in future . I’m wondering if it has changed hands & got new owners ? What a shame .

Thailand Tom Restaurant in Hythe Kent is so worth visiting. The decor is minimalist & very comfortable. The food is amazing. I ordered my favourite Thai meal which is Thai green curry & it was absolutely delicious. My Husband had a Thai prawn curry which he really enjoyed. The food was well presented & served by very friendly staff. We had a great evening. Highly recommend.

Having read all the reviews, still decided to go. I can see why the poor reviews focused on the service. It wasn't great, but I wouldn't say they were rude. The food was only OK. Struggling to say much more than that. Can't see myself going back to be honest.

We visited here early Saturday evening. The restaurant was not busy and staff were attentive and helpful. The food was tasty and filling, they will adjust the spice content if you don't like it too spicy and hot. A very pleasant evening and will return.

Went for a meal, the reastaurant is in a very old English building, but has been very tastefully upgraded.We ordered 2 starters one had a black sauce with it, we asked what it was, the answer home made, it was lovely, both starters we shared. We then ordered 2 main courses we also shared them, the first one was the hottest course they make, and the 2nd slightly sweet. We were fully satisfied and the meal was fantastic. We reccomend going in a group ordering and sharing dishes, you weill get more of the proper Thai flavours. Service was superb. Thank you a wonderful evening

Opted to have dinner here after spending a very pleasant afternoon/ evening in the pub / bistro next door.Serious error of judgementThe two ladies who served did not have the slightest clue about service and the food was the worst Thai food I have ever eaten.The only saving grace was the Prawn Tom Yam Soup that was spicy and flavoursome

The meal and evening were lovely until we came to pay. Due to their internet my card was rejected twice but went through on the third attempt with another card. One woman was unbelievably rude- she said they payment hadn’t gone through and that I had to pay again and that, if it had gone through, I could go back and get a refund. I refused and gave my name and address and said I would go back the next day if it hadn’t worked (which I clearly knew it had). She was totally obnoxious and ruined that evening and my weekend. When I got home I logged on to my bank and sure enough the money had gone out of my account. Terrible customer service from her and we will never go back which is a shame as we were fairly regular there.

We arrived on Friday evening just getting off the Eurotunnel from France, the restaurant lady said she was open at 9.30 pm with the open sign outside the door. The table was laid without serviette, glasses and it was thrown, no smile. We ordered our food, when we asked for serviettes, she just put three on the table, in a very unfriendly manner, there was four of us, she put them on the table, did not give them individually as you would expect. We rushed out food as we could clearly see they did not want us there and wanted to close, Why have an open sign and tell us that it was okay for us to eat, my wife said, let's leave, I should have listened to her.

Wow. Popped in here on the off chance on a family stop over on way to the continent. So glad we did. The service and food was excellent. All staff polite and friendly. We visited this restaurant on Sunday evening, it was relatively quiet with a couple of families dining in. The ambience of this place is very good. The staff was very friendly and though they do not have a kids menu, the staff suggested dishes for kids and did kids portion for us at reduced price which are very thoughtful. Food was fresh and authentic.

We visited early Saturday evening. We had been before and were not impressed last time by several things. However, this time we had a warm welcome, excellent service and great food. Will definitely return.

We love Thai food and nothing to complain about this restaurant. We sat just inside the door as the seating at the back looked uncomfortable. The food was very good. The mango sticky rice I don’t know how we squeezed it in but we did all 3 courses. Lovely food.

Visited with my wife whilst staying in the area. Service and staff very good and the food was really nice. We both had starters and main courses with a bottle of wine and a cocktail each and the bill came to £67. Good value and we would definitely come back.

Had a Saturday lunch,didn't realise the time,2.30 but still cooked us an excellent meal.Didn't rush us and where as polite and pleasant,as always.Top knotch.
