Amazing thai food, great friendly service

I’m so blown away by the incredible food and service here that I haven’t even waited to leave to write a review. I had khanom jeeb (dumplings with pork and prawn) followed by a beautiful stir fry with chicken and cashews. The best Thai food I’ve ever had and I’m now going home to look at holidays to Thailand! The service was amazing, so friendly. Thank you everyone at Daows kitchen for such a great experience.

food doesn't taste right and it is expensive for nothing. It doesn't taste or look like Thai cuisine anyway I won't be returning as customer or anything else. Had to throw away the whole order just cause it was so tasteless and inedible

I recently had the best Thai food I've ever tasted in the UK. This place has become one of my favourite spots. The prices are very reasonable and the owner is incredibly friendly and cheerful. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new. When you close your eyes and taste the food, it's like you're sitting on the beach in Krabi, Thailand.

Incorrect order. 2 separate dished practically identical. Expensive and unclear about which items included noodles / rice (none of them did).

delivery was great. but my food had no condiments. no sauce for my spring roll or chilli for pad Thai. 3rd time now.

Ordered takeaway. We had the Pad See Ew, and Massaman Curry. All the dishes were way too sweet. The spring rolls were £7.50 for four very tiny spring rolls. Very disappointed.

Lived in Thailand for years so although not an expert, I can tell the difference between good and bad… Massaman was not massaman, it was lacking flavour, potatoes and too sweet. Also it lacked liquid, it was all solids! PadSeeEw was not right either, the wrong noodle, too sweet yet again. Veg Chilli Basil Stir Fry was quite sweet, oily and salty. Spring rolls were too sweet and £7.50 for 4 felt too steep. They seem really lovely and I’m sure it suits the local Folkestone palate, but for me it was quite poor flavoured food.

Love this place. The food is soo amazing. Always satisfied when me and my friends go here. They do the beat thai payaya salad. Definitely recommend to everyone who is looking for some good Asian food.

We went for the first time tonight food was absolutely delicious every bite, lovely to have a local Thai food restaurant, shame your not open later. Cosy venue and affordable prices for real great Thai food.

I am a massive Thai food fan especially Pad Thai, however this one was very oily you could taste more of the oil than the actual food. The thai green curry was beautiful!

So disappointed. Was expecting great things, following great reviews. Ordered on deliveroo, and wrong order delivered. Called the restaurant, went to voicemail - no response to message left. Deliveroo have promised refund, so hopefully that will come through. Food that was delivered was not that impressive.

Didn’t even know this place existed until I saw a review on a local news website Especially being in such a strange spot to find a restaurant. After reading the review, we decided to give it a go and was not disappointed. Food, service & general ambience was lovely and the food was obviously cooked fresh to order. As it can probably only seat 18 I would advise booking in advance, but that was painless enough via the website or you can phone them.

Great food but high prices. £8.50 for four very small fishcakes, £11 for a single curry - even with inflation that feels pretty steep.

We had a take away tonight. The food was lovely.

Beef massaman, beef was tough and chewy so disappointed. Chicken pad thai was lovely.

Wrong order arrived (clearly someone else got my food order & done very well out of it considering it was £40 worth and what I got was £20 & no one from Just Eat has got back to me. Restaurant couldnt care less about the issue when I rung them & frankly the service is dire. Wont be using Just Eat again or the restaurant.

First time ordering.. and definitely not the last. The food was absolutely delicious. The flavours were amazing and truly Thai, with the use of lots of fresh vegetables. We ate every single bit!

The food was delicious, a bit more spicy than I thought it would be. But luckily I don't mind. Lovely delivery person.

Curry was ok but the rice was lumpy and poorly reheated. The spring rolls at 7.50 for three were poorly cooked.

The driver was off needing to lean against the wall of my house for the 20 seconds it took me to answer the door. The green curry was ok Al be it a bit stodgy. The rice was lukewarm with weird clumps of rice as if it was poorly reheated. The 3 mini spring rolls for 7.50 were poor and I’ve cooked better frozen ones in the air fryer . For £29 a real rip off all in. Service charge, delivery charge and carrier bag charge!!!

Absolutely delicious. The chicken pad Thai was excellent. The prawn toast is also well worth getting. It’s done on baguette! Best Thai in Folkestone IMHO

It was nice. It’s a small place and the table in the middle is not very comfortable as you get people coming in for take aways from both sides. The food is good but not very authentic a bit bland.

Very bland and unauthentic food. The pad Thai contained shredded cabbage which is unusual and the massaman curry contained crunchy red peppers. I would not recommend this restaurant or order from there again.

Great food and wine, good value and lovely service. We popped in whilst staying close by the night before crossing the Channel. Delighted with our experience.

We had Chicken Satay Skewers with Peanut Sauce, Fried Veg Spring Rolls with Sweet Chilli, Veg Pad Thai and Chicken Massaman Curry with Coconut Rice. Everything was very tasty, fresh and flavoursome. Service perfect and atmosphere was cosy. Reasonably priced too. Recommended

First time having dinner from here. It was absolutely delicious. Piping hot, huge portions and i was really impressed with the quality of the ingredients. So much veg and meat in the chicken, chilli and ginger stir fry. Will definitely be ordering again. Best Thai food in Folkestone by far.

I had the chilli chicken and basil stir fry. Delicious, my daughter the veggie red Thai curry. Both so flavoursome and fresh. The prawn toasts were the best ever so will be reordering very soon thank you.

1st time we've ordered from here and it was the best Thai food I've had in years. I wish I'd know sooner how good it was. Will be my Thai takeaway of choice from now on.

All I can say is WOW! Food arrived steaming hot & so fresh. The vegetables were beautifully cooked with giant prawns & a lovely spicy green Thai curry sauce. The coconut rice was the best I’ve tasted. Highly recommend!!!

Delicious food, very flavoursome. Could have done with another prawn or two in my noodle dish, as it was a generous portion of noodles, but other than that it was perfect.

Fabulous Thai; one of the best Thai meals I have had and adapted to be gluten free without losing any flavour. The ladies who cooked and served our food were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely meal, we really enjoyed our evening.

Contrary to reports Daow's kitchen is very much still open and is great. Four of us traveling for work had dinner here Oct '22 and everything was excellent. I've eaten a lot of Thai food in the UK and Thailand and this was spot on.

Really delicious food, the yellow curry was fantastic, and the Khanom Jeeb absolutely top notch. The food was nice and fresh and not too oily. We've already picked out what we'll order next time :)

I order a king prawn Pad Thai, it was nice enough and tasted fresh but there were only five prawns placed on top of it. Needed more prawns.

Food was extremely disappointing. Nothing authentic about these dishes. Did not taste fresh. No difference in flavour between the two noodle dishes. Prawn toast burnt. Green curry was awful. I can’t believe I paid top money for this food.

We have been meaning to try this place and upon reading a Facebook recommendation we are so glad we did. Oh my goodness, the food (takeaway) was delicious, prob the best Thai locally we have. It was so freshly cooked, beautiful ingredients and really did taste like you were in Thailand! Well done, we need to keep this family run business going as it’s really nice and due to its location, I don’t think it gets the passing trade it truly deserves…!!!

Updated 30th July 22. After disappointment on three separate weeks and days, Wednesday, Friday and today Saturday I am having to update my review. Daows kitchen have disappointingly let us down. The stay they're open but they are not. They are uncontactable. No information. It's just random. They just. Decide to close and don't tell anyone . I know for a fact they have recently opened a new outlet at the Folkestone harbour arm. Clearly they are focusing efforts here but they are neglecting LOYAL customers who have used them for a year on dozens of occasions. Other falls in satisfaction sadly. Puts you off eventually. Shame it was so good before Great selection of food, and generous portions. Tasted great, I had the Pad See Ew - similar to a pad Thai but with thicker noodles and dark soy instead of Teriyaki, tasted the Pad Thai and that was nice too. One would go between two people for sure. The staff were pleasant too, would happily try another of their dishes another time.

Having just moved round the corner we were keen to try food from this small local restaurant. We had family visiting so attempted a meal at Daow’s. Unfortunately we only got parts of our order & we’re still waiting for our starters when others were being served their mains. The atmosphere felt exceptionally chaotic and the small team were overwhelmed with diners & takeaway orders and they were just unable to cope. The poor waitress was out front doing absolutely everything and trying to keep a smile on her face. She was super apologetic and after over 2 hours of waiting & our meals still yet to be started we called it quits & went home to order pizza. We were not charged for what we did receive as a gesture of goodwill. Everyone else’s food looked & smelled lovely - I would attempt a meal from here again but I think I would just order a takeout as those seemed to be prioritised.

I only ordered 2 things. Rice and a stir fry. Rice didn't turn up. When I called they said can I pick it up after sitting there in silence
