Thai Square - Mansion House in City of London, Westminster

We ordered vegetarian starter platter and Jungle curry for dinner last night. Food was slightly disappointing as tempera was super oily, corn cake was sticky and chewy. Jungle curry was flavourless, have had better in other Thai restaurants. Hot sticky rice comes wrapped in plastic cover which isn't exactly good for our health considering it can be carcinogenic! We had to wait almost 15mins for the bill and to see 12.5% service charge was the limit. It wasn't like the staff were friendly or helpful going out of way...they were somewhat robotic in service! The only good thing was the ambience.

Food was tasteless, inauthentic and overpriced. I'm pretty sure the squid was made from frozen..

Nice. Had the early bird theatre menu which was delicious and reasonably priced.

Nice experience food was cooked well and had good flavours. Staff felt quite rushed, as though there was pressure to get people ordered, fed and left as quickly as possible. Multiple times we were told we had to vacate our table in 10 minutes, yet no one brought the bill over for us. We were eventually brought the bill and asked to leave at about 8:30. I expect because they wanted to fit extra covers in, although on the way out we noticed plenty of other free tables. Popular with the after work crowd.

Excellent Excellent Excellent place and very happy with the lunch menu that they have. It's been an amazing experience over the years and glad they haven't changed the quality or taste of food.

Bit of a featureless cavern with no charm or character. Unenthusiastic staff and terrible food. The NEW Andaman Curry sounded delicious, but it was almost impossible to get the mussels out of their shell, and when you did they were like inedible bits of rubber. The squid was exactly the same and I ended up leaving the rest of the dish. I was so concerned about the standard of the cooking that I'm worried about being ill the next day. The person next to me had a tofu dish that they took one spoonful from and left. The smell from it was absolutely appalling. The weeping tiger that was ordered by the person opposite was some sliced steak with an eggcup of salad. The sticky rice we ordered was lukewarm and congealed. This really is a chain that seems outdated and has lost its direction. The worst that London has to offer, and best avoided at all costs.

We ate well, dishes well served and quite generous. However, pay attention to the mention of chili next to the dishes on the menu, the dishes are very spicy even for us who are very fond of spices!! 🌶️ I still recommend it because we ate very well!

Lovely find after a pre-Christmas wander around London. Ate early (6pm) so it was quiet, service was impeccable and the food was lovely. Toilets are worth a visit too 😁

This place is a MUST! The staff are so so kind, patient and overall make your experience 10,000 better! We celebrated my brother’s birthday there yesterday and we all loved the food so much. The drunken noodles are INSANE! The staff are so considerate and kind. One of our new favourite places to go!

Attended a team dinner. Atmosphere was festive. Overall, there lacks a feeling of cleanliness. None of the food was hot. My food was always like warm. The water pitchers had visible water? marks. And there was a smell like raw eggs which was a turn off. Nice location and atmosphere but the cleanliness, to me, is questionable.

Thai Square used to be really great. Reliable, fair value, tasty and good service. It is now rarely any of these things. I visited whilst on business and the food was banged out at carvery speed so clearly not being freshly prepared. The papaya salad was watery and tasteless plus the ingredients did not taste fresh. The steamed sea bass portion was very small and served luke warm and the delicate taste crushed by chili. Service though was both friendly and efficient. The bill was about 40 quid yet I was in and out in 20 minutes! I'm done with Thai Square I think. It's been a good 20 years since I first ate at the OG one in Trafalgar Square but the games up for me. Maybe it's me and not them.

I don't often write bad reviews but on this occasion I feel it is necessary. I eat out in different restaurants across the world at least 3 times a week, I feel I know what I am talking about. Our starters were ok, but our mains were so spicy they were almost inedible. Even though we asked the staff to make them less spicy when we made our order. They did not listen. The quality of the food was average but the price was definitely not. On top of everything the service was pretty poor, they could not wait to get rid of us. We were not difficult customers , in fact we did not make much of a fuss. All in all, very disappointing

An ok restaurant. Food was decent but nothing crazy, and not particularly cheap but I guess that’s the location Was met with an odour of sewage upon entry and occasional return visits throughout the meal The shaking of the floor as the tube went by underneath was quite fun at least Servers were pleasant and had a social evening sat around the table with friends

Eso sí, al precio hay que añadirle un 12% por el servicio, lo que resulta curioso porque no hay la opción de servirse uno mismo, así que se paga si o si. No obstante, esto es así en toda la hostelería de Londres. Es lo que hay, y en este caso no desmerece la calidad del restaurante. 100% recomendable.

It was an amazing experience in this Thai restaurant me and my family have never tried Thai food before because personally I don’t like spicy but this restaurant amazing I ordered some pad se ew noodles they were amazing big portion and lots of good vegetables.for the drink I ordered the non alcoholic peach mango and I think passion fruit cocktail it was very sweet but very good 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼thank u so much for this experience the service was very nice and gentle 100% recommend.

massive dining room that is clean and tidy but the tables are pretty packed in. The menu is ok with a lot of the staple Thai cuisine. The staff are friendly and helpful. Food was ok but had a lot better.

Had dinner here last week after work. Place was busy. Our first time here and absolutely loved it! Bon, the manager and his team were wonderful & welcoming. We had a mix platter, to which he recommend as this gave us a selection. For our mains we opted for the Stir Fried Basil Chicken and Pad Se Eiw. Both were flavourful and generous is portion size. We will definitely be back!

My daughter and I ate at Thai Square Mansion House the first night we were in London. It had been a long day as we had arrived that morning on an overnight flight and were having dinner and then heading off to sleep. We picked the perfect restaurant for our first night. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was calming and the service was wonderful. If we had stayed in London for more than a week, we definitely would have gone back. I highly recommend Thai Square Mansion House for both visitors to London and those who live there.

The first time I went I had the set lunch menu and was so disappointed the food was tasting not good at all. I was then convinced by friends who said that is their favourite restaurant in the city and decided to give it a try again and was bey good indeed ( I ordered different things). So for now is three stars will see if I just had a bad day maybe and update later

Nice Thai restaurant as always and the staff are friendly especially Ball who is a manager, He is helpful and humble. I have been here several times since 2016 and the food is delicious. I would recommend whipping Tiger, pad thai chicken, grilled pork neck, papaya salad, Tom Yum squid, Tom Kha mushrooms and sticky rice.

Went here for dinner, the place was quite busy for a Thursday night. The food was really good, would definitely recommend the Weeping Tiger and the Salt and Chilli Squid. The service was good and the staff were friendly. The prices are a little bit expensive but expected for the area.

Plenty of empty seats for a prime time evening left me thinking this may not be the best idea. Wait time to be served was at the maximum I would expect, but the food was well presented and tasty. Wine list a bit pricy though. Expect a little better, but willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

Very nice Thai place. I tried an appetizer and for the main course I had a meal called Drunken duck. It was very spicy and I recommend it if you like spicy food.

Food is exquisite, from starter to main course I cannot fault them. Didn't try the dessert as I was quite full after 2 courses. Their mocktail was sweet but very tasty as well. Service is fast and with a smile. Definitely recommend it.

It was amazing. I took my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day and the customer service was excellent, the food was delicious and overall it was just a wonderful experience. The restaurant looked beautiful as well, it was very romantic. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

My first visit to Thai Square Mansion House for a mid week dinner with a friend - she loved the food, I thought it was nice but nothing outstanding. We had the duck pancake and some dim sum for starters, both of which were served promptly and efficiently; I would liked the duck to be crispier but otherwise all very fresh and well cooked. For main we shared a couple of curries with some steamed rice, once again nice but not memorable. Overall price was reasonable for the quality and serving sizes and I would eat there again if I was nearby, but would not consider it a must-visit when in London.

I do like this place and I've eaten here 3-4 times. The food is excellent and service always good especially for an informal business lunch. I did think it would be busier given it was Xmas but is was surprisingly spacious. The food wasn't expensive and the wine was good.

Not too bad of a visit actually - met there with a friend for dinner and took a pram with us. The staff were very friendly and were happy to accommodate the pram no problem. The food was "good" - my wife through the red curry main was a little bland but had no issues with the chicken satay starter and I was happy with the dumpling starter, too. I had the Pad Thai - it tasted good, but think on reflection some of that chicken was a bit questionable and it was a bit too sweet for my liking. The Merlot was nice - reasonably priced for what it was. Service was good - although it slowed down significantly as it got busier, so we're pleased we went a little earlier in the evening. Staff were friendly and accommodating though. Overall - a 'nice' experience, and I think we would use the chain again if there was the opportunity.

Good food but the waitress sat my guest and I on separate tables without us knowing despite giving the name on the booking, so we were each waiting for the other for 20 minutes

We went for a team lunch. The place is very nice. Lunch menu has a great price and it was served relatively quickly. The tasting and portions were very good. Definitely we will come back

Food was great but the service could have been better. Took ages and several people to get a finger bowl and there were no servettes. The staff were pleasant though.

Visited for a quick business lunch. Lunchtime express menu is very good value at £14.50 for a main course and side. Food was tasty and of a good quality for something served fairly rapidly. Service was quick and friendly.

My Mum and I had dinner here last Friday. Thank you to the chef's. The food was excellent and our waitress Julia provided excellent customer service. We had the jungle curry, papaya salad and coconut and chocolate ice cream. The jungle curry was nice and spicy. Thank you and I look forward to coming again.

Good value set lunch, simple Thai food. Just what we were looking for.

We are visiting London for 4 nights. A very special feeling after Corona! We visited this thaj restaurant on the second evening. The food was good and nicely presented. We would give a 5 star rating for the food. The room was also nicely decorated and the furnitures looks expensive. The staff however are not really motivated. The service was not in line with the quality of food and the ambience. So we give 5 stars for the food and 3 stars for the service. In average a 4 star rating.

Staying nearby we booked this restaurant based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. Warm welcome and friendly attentive service. Food was lovely. We are regular Thai foodies and invariably have a curry, a stir fry and a rice to share and the portions here were tasty and a good size. One of the best meals we’ve had.

They had a shortage on most drinks and food. I could get 3 out of the 4 cocktails on the menu because they did not have the ingredients, also I asked for coconut rice and instead of telling me they did not have it they gave me plain rice and tried to charge me for the coconut rice

The food was delicious and had very big portions! I was also really impressed with the vegetarian menu as nearly everything could be adapted to veggie. Lovely and quick service from the staff. Will be returning when next in London:)

Booked for 7:30pm. Only a few people in the restaurant. Only one waiter on duty so took a while to get order taken. By time starter arrived around 8:15pm the restaurant was almost full and still only one waiter. Food arrived cold. Main course arrived cold. £16 for crispy duck was cold and very small portion. When the bill came 12.5% tip was already included. There are lots of places to eat in london. I shall not bother with his one again.

Usually work in Town on Mon, Tue and Thu so like a warm lunch and a reminder of Siam. Food was busting with flavour, especially the famous Thai Green Curry, was served quickly and very warm, the waiters had a big smile. What more is needed to put a smile on a gloomy "English Summer"

Bad cuisine , not even my satay was good and the red curry chicken was fade like water but with a red color (I can even do it better home). A pity that a such restaurant is becoming empty, we understood lately why. At least I ve discovered that the lack of taste wasn't due to any symptomatic issue ....

When we arrived and were greeted by a waiter that was in full compliance with the COVID-19 protection guidelines. The restaurant was not overcrowded (4 full tables amongst many). Our waiter was attentive and served us well. The food was delicious and Came on time. The price of the food was as I’ve heard Londoners “right on the money”. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to find a place last minuet, special occasions or just looking for a decent night out

This is the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant in London. Poor food, horrible unhelpful customer service. I've made a complaint to their back office, they have completely ignored me. I truely believe such practices will drive them out of business. Avoid for your own sake...

Very nice food, and great service. Restaurant just reopened so very quiet, I could hear the train underneath once in a while but this had not put me of the the venue.

After looking at the previous reviews from a few years ago, i was very hesitant to go to this restaurant. But, as we got recommended to go here we thought we'd give it a try. The food was brilliant, the tastes really reminded me of when i was in Thailand. Would highly recommend this restaurant. No doubt to say the best Thai restaurant in the area.

As a vegetarian I found the options really interesting. Had Veggie spring rolls to start - yum yum. Then had sticky rice and Pad med Mamuang Tofu which was so tasty. Nice cocktails and really yummy food. Wish I lived more local as I would be a regular.

The menu was too complicated and our waitress not easy to understand. The first course was good but we seem to have been committed to 3 courses and the second and third were not up to the same standard.
