The food is good, and the decor is very beautiful. On Sundays particularly, the set lunch offers a good deal for its Chicken Rice and it's heavenly! Because of its location away from the busy oxford street, it is a good little place tucked away in our to-go places when we want to get away from the crowds in Central London. However, due to this as well - we think the restaurant may actually benefit more from the footfall on the main street. Please keep your business alive so we can keep enjoying it for years to come!

This restaurant happened to be next to the hotel we were staying and we wanted a quick meal before turning in from a long flight. It turned out to be one of the best Thai food I've ever had! Since we didn't know anything about this restaurant, we ordered very basic Thai food like Spring Rolls, Chicken Satay for appetizers and Pad Thai and Curry Noodles for the main course. Everything was delicious! I also had flowering Jazmin Tea and it really was one of the best tea I've ever had! Everyone at the restaurant was very friendly and the service was excellent! I saw many Asian customers which is always a good sign at an Asian restaurant!

I feel obliged to have to write this review with the bizarre experience I’ve had at my visit. Got pork dumplings served for veg starters. My soup never came - so on third attempt of asking they admitted order wasn’t placed and I got my soup 1hr 15 mins later. Their service was extremely slow - either this is due to lack of staff or just ignorant attitude I wouldn’t know. I felt some of their staff were acting in a patronising manner to request my friends made - which often had to be repeated as they didn’t comply to request on first attempt. 2 and half hours later when we finished - we went to complain regarding the poor standards of service to the manager and it seemed all they were willing to do was to scapegoat a poor trainee that was working there. The treatment of that trainee - being pulled from her wrists by the manager and publicly informed that she will be sacked because we had complained is the main reason for me feeling obliged to write this review. From their food perspective I found it more on the sweeter side compared to many other Thai restaurants - though I did like their papaya salad and my tom yum soup even though it took an eternity to arrive.

Rude manager who publicly castigated his staff. No sense of customer service. Meat dishes served to vegetarians and orders forgotten to be given to the kitchen. Despite this they still felt the need to slap a 12.5% service charge onto our bill. Events took a nasty turn when the unforgiving manager wanted to sack the newly trained waitress to the dismay of his staff and punters.

So I went to this place with a group of friends and had the worst experience of my life. The arrogance and rudeness was alarming. London restaurants are maintain high standards when it comes to service, but this place and especially the manager, have got to be the biggest embarrassment to Thai people in general. When you mess up orders, take too long to deliver food, and then serve pork to a vegetarian, there has to be some humility. To the contrary, they added a hefty service charge, and things that we didn't order to the bill. When we went to clarify, the manager started shouting at us, and dragged the trainee waitress who served us, by her wrist to the counter, and threatened to fire her on the spot. it was not the poor girls fault in the first place, cause the three other waiters who served us were equally useless. I should have called the police for the way that manager treated the waitress like an animal!!

I went with a friend on a Saturday evening for dinner. We had 1 bottle of fizzy water and one lyechees juice to drink. We had fish pies as a starter and I relly didn't like them.. they were chewy and tasteless. The starter was a revelation. I had King prawns with steamed vegetables. I was impressed by the freshness of the fish and the crunchiness of the vegetables. Also the fish on my friends rice was very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend fish in this restaurant. Also the price wasn't bad, we spent 20£ each.

Bizarre attitude to customers, unfriendly, rude approach and non existent service. We made a reservation for 7:30pm and arrived on time. We were asked to sit and wait for a table to be available. After 15 minutes of waiting I came up to ask about the table and the server was extremely rude, pointed at the table that was still a mess and said we ought to keep waiting because they are only three people operating the restaurant so I should clearly understand why we're being ignored. When we finally sat down at the table we waited 15 more minutes and when nobody approached with even some water we just stood up and left the place. What is the point of booking a reservation? and why the unnecessary angry mood? I would never recommend this place.

Went here for the first time after they moved to this new location and doubt we will be visiting again. It took 20 minutes after sitting down to even order drinks. We ordered two starters, one arrived (the waitress practically ran away) and we had finished out first amd had to remind them twice about our second starter before we got it around 20 minutes after that. Main meals arrived shortly after that to be fair but at no point did anyone even say "sorry" at any point. Nor did they ask if everything is ok either. When we got the bill and asked if we could take the tip off they didnt even think to ask then.

Finally we ordered different starters and soups. The chili calamari was very oily, the breading got stick in the basket. The spring roles and the sweet corn cakes were fine. The Tom Kha soup was fine my Tom Yum missed the red curry taste. We had the feeling like the cook would be on a leave.

Dined here a few days ago for lunch, as it was a Saturday the restaurant was relatively quiet. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered from the lunch menu, where they had a £9.95 or £12.95 option. Both included starters and mains. We had the £12.95 menu which had a bigger starter than the £9.95 menu. I had the chicken green curry & my husband had the vegetarian green curry for mains. Both had authentic and delicious flavours. We were able to get the spice levels we wanted, very spicy for him and medium for mine. Also, they were able to give him a vegetarian starter as the one on the menu wasn’t. I booked this place for dinner with a friend at 8pm. I was told the day before I could use a open table gift card. We arrived and it was so noisy. There was one table with some really loud people on it. The menu had plenty of choice. A waitor came over and poured some water which looked like tap water, it was in a clear bottle, no top. We were then charged 75p for the water on the bill. The food was nothing to write home about, my local chinese serves better food. It was pretty basic and did not taste very fresh. We had a shared platter plus a few more sides. The place got louder and louder, we did not enjoy our dinner due to the level of noise. When the bill came and I showed my gift card I was told I could not use it. The manager, who was not there had advised his staff from yesterday he was no longer accepting the gift card. I quietly tried to explain I had called yesterday (23 Aug 18) and the staff member started to raise his voice and wave his arms, so I gently moved him away from my guest and other dinners to the till and asked him for his name and the managers name. He did say sorry in the end but he did looked stressed out and he did not want me to have his name. I will leave it off this review as he did look like he was about to collapse. His manager VASAN has not called me yet. Not a place I will return, apart from the gift card situation, the place was too loud...maybe more for people who like a noisy eatery and do not have much of a palet. Cafe or restuarant...CAFE yep that sums it up.

Suda Thai is a hidden gem off Oxford Street on Berners Street in Central London. I wondered in accidentally and decided to have lunch there. I had Pla Thod, which is basically deep fried white bait fish spiced with black pepper and chilli among the ingredients. The fish was finished off with a generous sprinkling of Lime leaves. I knew this would be good based on the Trip Advisor reviews, as well as it being part of Patara, but my friend and I were blown away by the whole experience. The decor is classy, the staff entirely professional and friendly, and as soon as we saw the varied menu (complete with top quality photos for every dish) we knew we were in for something special. Forget the generic Thai food that many places pass off as authentic - when you read the ingredients list in dishes such as galangal, kaffir lime leaves and green peppercorns you know you are getting good food, and there were many dishes that I had never even heard of before, which is always a pleasure. Every single thing we ate on the menu was wonderfully cooked, full of flavour and spice, with well-chose wine to match, and the different sharing plates offered the chance to eat as many different things as possible. Lots of great seafood, delicate flavours throughout and even brown jasmine rice on the menu meant that I had to get a doggy bag to bring the remainder home for my wife to try (which the staff helpfully obliged) and now we cannot wait to go back and enjoy together.

Fuimos a ver jugar en la calle Teatro ratonera Martin's, y este lugar a la vuelta de la esquina. El menú de la cena teatro es buena, con una buena etiqueta de precio de £14. 90 por dos campos!

We had visited here on a previous visit to Lobdon but early in the day at sat in the downstairs area. The food then was lovely so we booked in advance this time for a Saturday evening a week before Christmas. Naturally it was busy and we were seated at a window table upstairs where the atmosphere was lovely. The foid was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. We were looked after very well by our server, Nick, who was very helpful and friendly. We had a fantastic meal and will definitley go again. Would definitely revommend you visit.

This place was busy even at 6pm. The menu took a bit of unravelling and on reflection, there wasn't as much to consider as I first thought. The waiter ensured that we were out on time for the theatre and that our nut-intolerant guest was accommodated. We ordered a selection of starters; there was about 4 of everything the satay was delicious (fishcakes flaccid as they often are, not my taste) and about 5 prawn crackers - an expensive option! The set menu was, on reflection, good value.Main courses were filling and tasty but there was a limit to how many noodles I could consume after I had eaten the delicious 'sticky' chicken.Busy busy restaurant which easily seats groups. Mid range-expensive if you over order as we did!

We picked the place though open table. We were rang to postpone our table by an hour. This was 40 minutes after we made the booking and 25 minutes before our booking. After speaking to the manager the managed to accommodate us. The first waitress was a disappointment asking us to pay for each round of drinks and course. The misunderstanding was cleared by the manager and the rest of the night was great. Lovely food and portion sizes. Will hope to eat again. Try the set meals which are great value

I've been here a few times, each time with different friends and family. They have a big menu with a large selection for vegetarians too. Brought my very difficult to take out anywhere friend here. Today she was going to be a veggie even though she eats chicken but nope she didn't want to look at anything chickeney. Instead she wanted veggie food without the tofu because she hates tofu but picked a tofu dish! Can you see where I'm going with this! Anyway we asked our waiter if it was possible for her to have the veggie thai green curry with tofu and more vegetables instead, and he said that wasn't a problem at all, while the rest of us were giving him that we are so sorry our friend is a weirdo look. I had the #seabass and it was a big portion, the others had red thai curry. And we shared a banana fritter dessert. Service is quick but the staff are very helpful with the menu and know what is in each dish in case you have an allergy. Nice atmosphere and the difficult friend (before anyone moans she knows we call her this) keeps saying she wants us her to take her here again. Which we will happily do

Was recommended by a Thai friend so expected the food to be good. The menu is large and has a lot of choices. Unfortunately my order of Pad Thai with giant prawns was inedible. The prawns were so tough I couldn’t get them out of the shell. When we complain we were offered a 50% discount.

Recently opened restaurant, thought of trying it out based on positive reviews, and we were pleased that all are justified; great quality food, good selection of diverse meals, and friendly and efficient service (but not rushed). In fact, as it was difficult to chose a meal, we ate too many dishes and will soon be going back for more. Reasonably priced. The drought Thai lager is not too bad either. Now with the Christmas decorations out in the narrow streets, quite a nice view from upper floor too.

Overall the meal was pleasent and the staff were friendly. We booked a table for 8 oclock on a Saturday night so I knew it would be busy. The staff couldn’t handle it. We had dishes and drinks taken off the bill because we had to remind the waiter a few times about where they were! They didn’t take the £25 service charge off though. I would go back but with a friend maybe not in a group.

Stopped in whilst doing some Christmas shopping in Covent Garden, the restaurant is located in a really sweet little courtyard. The food was good we opted for the set lunch menu 2 courses for £17.95 this included a mixed started and we both had prawn pad thai which were both very nice. The food was styled for a more british market therefore not very authentic but it depends what you like and what you order from the full menu.Overall it was nice but would probably try somewhere else next time.

The servers are very professional and friendly. However, it takes so long to get their attention to take the order or pay the money. The quality of the food is excellent and flavour of the food is so authentic. Especially, Asian customers will love it.

My friends and I had a curry tasting menu and it was pretty good and good value. The 3 bowls we chose were Green Chicken curry, duck curry and Beef panang curry. The Duck was the best one and then the chicken. I like the upstairs seating as it is a bit quieter but they have some large tables too for groups so it could get noisy. We went there before the theatre and let them know so we got fairly fast service.

Had an underwhelming experience at Patara Soho. Started and mains were tasty, albeit a bit more expensive that most Thai restaurants, until we got to dessert. We got the orange chocolate tart, and it was like they just poured ready-made chocolate sauce into a ready-made tart case. Service was also so-so (we were downstairs). They didn’t leave tap water on the table, and it was hard to get the waiter’s attention to get more ware

Ok, I loved Jane Tira--I mean, loved this place so much that we used it for our informal wedding dinner last year! As locals, we'd been going for years. It was always known for delicious, authentic food; friendly service (though a little slow at peak times); and very reasonable prices (for Soho). The moo ping here? It was to die for. When we visited two weeks ago, we saw some new faces but the decor looked the same--until we saw the menu. Weirdly enough, the branding appears to have been kept intact, and the website is now a bizarre mix of factoids and literal transcription of the menu items. I asked the waitress if Jane Tira was under new management, and she seemed confused; when I asked if this was new ownership, she said yes, but the food (and I quote) "is more better." Reassuring? Not really, as the food had been excellent before.Still, we ordered our 'don't feel like picking' from what we knew had been solid choices in the past, so we'd have an easy comparison. We went for the moo ping and corn cakes to start, then I got tofu pad see euw and my spouse got chicken pad thai. The starters took quite a while, but came nicely presented. Unfortunately, that was as good as it'd get.First sign nothing good was to come: everything was served with lemon wedges. I'm not sure why they couldn't find limes, but big sour Persian lemons are absolutely not the right accompaniment to Thai food (and yes, they were definitely lemons).Corn cakes: claggy, horribly doughy, not enough corn, too thick, not a single hint of kaffir lime leaves--which give the corn cakes their nicely aromatic flavour. Served with tragic bottled sweet sauce rather than the home-made nam chim kai we used to get.Moo ping: cold (!), limp, no grill marks, tough; the dipping sauce tasted like a weird combo of bottled sauce and discordant spices, it should have been nam jim jaew, which had previously been lusciously smoky.Pad thai: okay. uninspiring, with almost too much veg and not enough chicken, which itself was very dry. there didn't appear to be a drop of tamarind in the sauce at all, and certainly no shrimp paste, which made the whole dish taste flat.Pad see euw: I actually had to send this back, which I almost never do, because it was so charred as to be inedible--I'm not talking about 'a few noodles caught at the edges', I'm talking 'all the soy sauce was put into a hot wok and went past caramelisation into actual carbonisation, then more liquids were sloshed on top to loosen it, and all of that became the sauce' levels of nasty. A rookie mistake, and so bitter that it was impossible to swallow. I mentioned this to the server, with my apologies, and he looked a little confused; 'oh, you don't like it?' Look, if I didn't like it, I wouldn't be enough of a jerk to send it back. I said that I suspected the soy sauce had burned and hadn't been added at the right time, or perhaps the chef had been distracted, but he didn't seem overly concerned about the feedback. I asked him to perhaps just bring me tofu pad thai instead. It was as flavourless as the chicken, and the tofu wasn't even crispy. About the only consolation was the amount of toasted peanut, because I couldn't even douse it in lime juice--since I only had a giant wedge of unripe lemon. So run, don't walk, away from this place. Some developer has taken this well-loved Soho staple and turned it into some of the worst attempts at inauthentic Thai we've ever had the misery of eating. At the moment, your best bet is Rosa's a couple streets over, though the moo ping isn't a strong point (the curries, however, are excellent) or, if you want something a touch lighter, Viet Pho at 34 Greek Street, which does a pretty decent pad thai and really, really good Vietnamese food.
